Hey Durham,
Moe here from Bulltánica.
Monica and I are hosting another neighborhood meeting about the proposed rezoning of Whitehall Terrace, the Wright House at 105 W. Knox Street across from Duke Park.
We’ve purchased the property and are continuing work on the house and grounds. Our proposal would allow massage, herbal education, and well-being classes as part of how we support the ongoing care of this place.
The rezoning to CN (D) is still pending.
Join us Wednesday, October 21, at 5:30 p.m., at Whitehall Terrace, 105 W. Knox Street. You can also attend on Zoom through our meeting page.
A special invitation to our neighbors. Come support the idea, criticize the proposal, ask questions, or just meet us and hear what we’re planning. You don’t have to agree with us to be welcome. If you have concerns about parking, traffic, or how the property would be used, bring them.
You can also read about the case and leave feedback through the Durham Rezoning Explorer. Look for Wright House, case Z2500041, at 105 W. Knox Street.
The comments have been a whole experience. Some are thoughtful, some are highly entertaining, and some have felt personal and abusive. I’m happy to talk through disagreements about the proposal. I’d appreciate keeping that conversation respectful.
If you support what we’re trying to do, please share that too, at the meeting or through the Explorer. If you think something needs to change, tell us what and why. The Explorer is a way to share your input with City Planning, including if you can’t attend.
We’ve also updated our website with information about the rezoning.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped to say hello while we’re working outside. It’s slow work, but there’s progress, and those conversations matter.
