Used items needed for shelter

I am currently in a community shelter, and there is a new woman here that needs large zip up used sweaters to prepare for the winter doesn’t need to be any specific color or text on it. She is also needing any type of white/tan sneakers/shoes. Used okay- we can always scrub them and clean them if they need to be. She wears a size 7 1/2. Any brand will be fine.

Question Have you decided what to do now that Presbyterian is closing all but one Medicare Advantage Plan for 2027?

Presbyterian has decided to close all but one of it Medicare Advantage plans. They lost $60 million offering Advantage plans in 2025. Only the Dual Plus plan will still be available next year and i’m not eligible. Devoted looks pretty good on paper for many losing their plan. But for some reason it’s not available in Valencia County. I would like to stay with my Presbyterian Doctor because I’m 57 and longterm disabled with complex medical issues. So i’m considering the AARP Medicare Direct Plus From UHC NM-15 PPO. The copays are higher as is the out of pocket max. But it’s a PPO that allows out of network doctors. And Presbyterian is in network. The other option is AARP UHC-NM- 0009 POS. It has lower deductables but does not offer out of network coverage. I have not faced this decision for many years as the Presbyterian plan met my needs. So what are my fellow decision makers doing this round?

Update: I tried checking the Medicare Site for a Medigap Policy and found that none are available in NM as it not required to be offered in our state to those under 65. (Im age 57) So it looks like I can go with traditional Medicare without Medigap insurance or stick with an Advantage plan. Im leaning towards Medicare Advantage but I still am undecided in which one. Any advice for someine that cannot get a Medigap policy?

Who is the local eyebrow wizard?

My previous choices are not cutting it. I’m trying to let my brows get a little fuller and every time I have them a little filled in, a waxer completely annihilates them.

Who’s the queen or king of brows in this town?

Business or city recycling bins open for public use?

Our recycling bin is packed full and we have a lot more to put out, are there big recycling bins like there are dumpsters? Any ideas on where something like that might be?
