Love & Relationships Why is it so hard to date now?

Problem/Goal: dating is so hard for me right now, need advice

Context: i’ve (25f) had quite a bad streak dating the past few years after breaking up with my first and only ex, i tried all the dating apps and putting myself out there but nothing seems to work

i have a good job, i go to the gym, stay active, make myself look presentable everywhere i go, i believe i have good looks and a good personality to pair it with, my friends always tell me that i’m a catch but i never seem to get a guy to look past me being just another body or a fun time

i feel a little helpless because i put so much effort into myself to be happy with myself and be likable to everyone too

i would love to have a partner who’s okay with being child-free because i want to have a good career and be financially stable, and just want to spend a lifetime with my person

paano niyo nahanap yung the one niyo?

Love & Relationships Is complete separation of property during marriage fair? Need advice on our prenup

Problem/Goal:
My fiancé and I are currently working on our prenup. I’m already talking to my own lawyer so I’m not really looking for legal advice. I just want to know what other people think about this arrangement, especially married couples

Context:
We both agree that whatever we own before marriage stays ours. Same with our businesses, inheritance, etc. I’m completely okay with that.

What he wanted to ADD though is complete separation of property even after we get married. Basically, whatever we earn, save, invest, or buy individually will still be individually ours. It only becomes “ours” if we intentionally put it in a joint account or buy something jointly.

On paper, I get it. The logic of it.
But I’m having a hard time with what that will entail emotionally while we’re actually married.

Parang psychologically, wouldn’t we both be incentivized to keep building our own wealth? Like if I keep putting more money into the family while he puts more of his money into his own investments, technically he ends up building more wealth for himself. And obviously it could also happen the other way around.

Parang ayoko naman umabot sa point na subconsciously iniisip ko, “I need to save more for myself para hindi ako dehado, just in case” It starts to feel like we’re going to working toward separate goals instead of building one life together.

I’m also thinking about it as a woman. What happens if I get pregnant, sacrifice certain career opportunities bec of our family? His ability to build his own wealth continues while mine could slow down.

I’m not saying everything he earns should automatically be mine. I also want my own money and financial independence. I just always thought marriage would be more mine, yours, and ours, rather than completely separate financial lives.

Previous Attempts:
We’ve talked about it and I’m discussing possible terms/safeguards with my lawyer. I still need to have a deeper conversation with my fiancé about why this setup is important to him.

But before that, I’m curious about other people’s perspectives.

As a woman, do you think this arrangement is fair? If your partner asked for this, what would you think his reasons were? And for couples who actually have this setup, did it affect your relationship or sense of being a team in the long run?

Love & Relationships Will never date this kind of guy again. its so draining

problem/goal: will never date this kind of guy again. its so draining.

Ang dami na agad problema, like age gap, resources, how he handles things, at marami pang iba. I'm still in college right now, and siya naman, college graduate na nung 2023. At his age, ang gusto niya raw is date to marry na, and he has so many promises na hindi rin naman niya tinupad o natupad. Whenever I ask him for a small gift every monthsary namin, sobrang pahirapan, and bigla-bigla na lang siyang magra-rant about his situation na parang sa akin lagi pinapasa yung problems niya. Sabi niya, siya raw kasi bumubuhay sa parents niya and pays all their bills, kaya medyo nahihirapan daw siya when it comes to money at pag-spoil sa akin, which I do understand naman. Eh, 'di kung ano lang kaya, 'di ba? Since I'm a student pa lang, binabudget ko talaga allowance ko kasi medyo kulang talaga since ang daming bayarin. Then, he knows na I already explained my side regarding doon, pero hindi niya 'yon maintindihan. Nagpapabili pa rin siya sa akin ng kung ano-ano, na even a “card holder” ay gusto niya ako ang bumili for him. Base sa mga kwento niya, his ex-girlfriend, who has the same age as him, medyo may kaya sa life, kaya kapag lumalabas sila, ini-spoil siya nung girl, and siya naman daw is hindi pala-bigay, so baka nasanay siya na gano'n. On our first monthsary, nag-iisip siya kung paano i-celebrate. He wanted to buy a cake raw, then tinanong niya kung puwede raw dagdagan na lang ng box of chicken kasi gusto niya, and ako raw ang magbayad. In my mind, siya 'yung may gusto nung food, bakit hindi siya ang magbayad with his own money? At hindi na sana mag-ask for more. Then, one time, bumisita siya sa akin. Nagpasama ako sa kanya magpa-cash out that time since ipapadala na allowance ko. Then, nung nandun na kami sa tindahan, he grabbed a snack for himself. Like, in my mind, snack ko ba 'yan? Or akin ba 'yan? Then, kinasama na pala ng loob niya 'yon. Then, napadaan kami sa isang coffee shop, and he said, “Pwede tayo mag-coffee? Take out.” Sabi ko, “Sure, basta pera mo,” since siya 'yung may gusto, eh. so hindi natuloy at hindi nakabili. Then, pag-uwi namin, ang dami na niyang rants, like bakit daw hindi ko siya malibre. Kakapa-cash out ko pa lang daw ng allowance ko, hindi ko man lang daw siya mabilhan. Ang hindi ko maintindihan is, he knows my situation naman. Bakit hindi niya maintindihan? So, I broke up with him kasi ayoko nang tumagal pa 'yung relationship namin, since hindi rin kami nagkakasundo sa napakaraming bagay. any thoughts po?

Parenting & Family My husband’s family treats us like an ATM, and now he is offering my money to his relatives—even while his mom treats me like trash.

Problem/Goal:

How do I handle this situation with my husband and set firm boundaries with his family moving forward, given that I am torn between helping out a polite relative and enabling an entitled, toxic family dynamic?

Context:

I earn significantly more than my husband. He recently switched jobs, so his income is temporarily in transition—his back pay from his previous company is still pending, and his first salary at his new job won't arrive until the end of the month. To be fair to him, he doesn't give me personal allowance because of our income gap, but all our utility bills are fully taken care of.

The issue is his family’s severe lack of financial boundaries. Both sides of his family (maternal and paternal) struggle financially. Because my husband and his siblings are degree holders with stable corporate jobs, the extended family—most of whom live in the province—constantly treats them like a personal emergency fund. There is an unwritten rule in their clan: whenever someone asks for money and one person can’t provide, they will immediately point the borrower toward another relative who might have funds. Now, I am being dragged into this cycle.

Recently, his uncle reached out politely asking to borrow money for a new laptop for his son. Because my husband’s salary is currently on hold, he couldn't lend the money himself. However, instead of simply saying "no," my husband told his uncle that while his own income is on hold, I have money and that he would ask me if I could lend the amount instead.

Making matters worse, my mother-in-law treats me terribly—she is rude to me, plays the victim whenever my husband is around, and spreads negative rumors and lies about me to other people to drive a wedge between us. The hypocrisy infuriates me: she treats me with utter disrespect, yet my hard-earned money is now being offered up to bail out her extended family.

Previous Attempts:

I already responded to the uncle because he was genuinely nice and respectful when asking. However, I hate finding myself in this position again, and I am deeply torn on whether I should actually go through with lending the money. On one hand, the uncle asked nicely, but on the other hand, doing this tolerates their toxic habit of treating us as an open bank, especially when his mother treats me so poorly. I haven't addressed the root issue with my husband yet, and I need advice on the best way to handle this without letting them take advantage of me or damaging my marriage.

Love & Relationships My boyfriend went out with his coworker

Problem/Goal: am i jumping into conclusions when i say that i think he’ll be replacing me with her

Context: my bf of 2yrs is newly employed in this hospital. Lahat ng tao dun ay matatanda na and theres this girl na kaedad niya lang, so sila ang magkasundo. I told him that im not comfortable with her, just because he spends more time with her at work than with me.

my bf had a huge problem at work and his coworker helped him with it. He was spiraling daw and she was the only one there to help him. Knowing him, madaling gumaan ang loob niya sa tao kapag ganun. After the same day, they went out to this resto 20 mins away from their workplace, naglakad lang daw sila papunta dun and ate at a sushi place. He lied at first and didnt tell me that hes going out with her and where they were (to avoid arguments daw) umamin nalang nung pinilit kong tanungin ng ilang beses. Nag sorry siya about the lie.

We started dating during internship and now nagooverthink na ako kasi ganun kami nagsimula: sa work, helping each other, going out after work. I cant help but feel jealous because im imagining how we are when were together and maybe he is feeling the same towards his coworker. Im scared na baka kung may problema na siya, he’d confide to her instead to me, his partner. Im scared that all of that will lead to some emotional attachment na ikasisira ng relationship namin.

Previous attempts: pinag usapan na namin, he told me that there is no malice with it. But then again, im scared of betrayal.

Is this a normal circumstance? I had work too, and never did i go out with a coworker na kaming dalawa lang nor lie about anything when i go out with the opposite sex.

Health & Wellness I am 13 days late on my period

Problem/Goal: Are my tests reliable enough and is there anyone with similar experience?

Context: My last protected intercourse was on Oct 4, and my expected period date was around Oct 6-8 and until now wala pa rin sya. Nastress ako at one point, pero this past week hindi na masyado, so idk why late pa rin ang period ko. I took a serum PT earlier sa hi-pre para mas accurate and negative sya. Is the test reliable enough, or should I take another one next week? sign na ba to ng internal issues sa katawan?

Work & Professional Growth Should I accept my relative’s offer to help me study German?

• Upvotes

Problem/Goal:

I recently passed the Nurses Licensure Exam and my goal is to work in Germany in the future. I want to start learning German while working as a nurse here in the Philippines so I can eventually work abroad.

Context:

A relative recently offered to help me financially with enrolling in a German language school after finding out about my plans. My original plan was to get a nursing job first and study German while working. Now that I have the option of getting financial help, I’m wondering if I should accept the offer or just pay for everything myself. I’d appreciate advice from Filipino nurses who have gone through or are currently going through the process, especially regarding balancing work and German classes, choosing a language school, and preparing to move to Germany.

Hobbies & Personal Interests Problem/Goal: Cheap engagement ring

Problem/Goal: Cheap engagement ring

Context: Some jewelers mark up prices by hundreds of thousands 💩

My Advice: LOOK for Indian or HK suppliers. Buy the loose diamond. Pagawa sa shop.

Posting this so no one else will make the same mistake I did and spend 300k on a ring that now only costs 40k 😭 Don't get fooled by jewelers who jacked up prices like crazy!

Iyak nalang talaga 😪

Samantala e-ring ko dati 300k for 2 carat lab dia 😡

Love & Relationships He said he'll fly to Canada but found out that it's his wedding day. NSFW

Problem/Goal:
I was the other girl; I didn't know that I was. We met the night before he flies to Canada, turns out that flight was never happening, that is his wedding day, and I had just also known about it the same day. Should I tell the girl?

Context:
I talked with this guy almost a year ago na. I met him through an online anonymous chat website. Though we didn't really talk continuously for all those months, may moments na we had no contact. I asked him countless times if he's single, and he says he is every single time. Of course I snoop around his socials too, even his friends' socials and wala talagang bakas eh. So why not try dating him and give it a try (we also did it during this time). Until he said he's still not ready to be in a relationship and still wants to enjoy his single life.

I tried to end things with him months prior to this situation because of that. We decided to still be friends since we really didn't end it on bad terms (no contact time). Until he messaged me after a little over a month saying na he's gonna leave for Canada this December. Then a few weeks later he said na mapapaaga flight niya and he's gonna be leaving on October 16 kasi he got a job offer na. We met again just this late August. We were back to the same situation. I thought that since he's gonna be leaving naman na, why not make some memories together. He even told me na he's gonna be home every 6 months and we can catch up by then, even as friends lang.

October 16 came. We met for the last time. He said his flight was October 17, 4AM. I met him at night. I gave him my parting gift and we made out. In my mind, I know he's gonna have a long and tiring flight, so I viewed some of his friends' stories if they already bid their farewell na rin (not my mutuals). But I was surprised with a wedding venue and congratulatory posts.

Now, I feel so shitty kahit I know deep down that it's not my fault. But even if it's not, I feel like I'm the horrible person. I don't know what to do with all these emotions. I've been vulnerable with him and told him what happened with my past relationship was similar to this. This is even worse. How can he stomach to do this? Why am I the one bearing his filth when I shouldn't be the one responsible? Feeling ko kahit anong decision ko, I'm always gonna be the bad person. If not to them, I'm also gonna be bad for me. I've been very honest from the start. What did I even do to deserve this.

This is still very fresh to me and I'm still high on my emotions. I'm still shaking. I feel so disgusted, I feel like was just his plaything. I can't even let this situation sink in. I'm so stupid.

Previous Attempts:
I messaged the guy for the last time, telling how disgusted I am and throwing words at him. I blocked him on everything after that. I looked for the girl's socials. Both her FB and IG are locked, can't even send a message on both of them. I have his father and his sister's socials, but I don't really want to involve any of them since they're outside the situation.

I know that it might be better to just move forward, but I don't even know how to recover from this. I'm considering going to therapy after this. I just can't take that I was involve in someone else's possible demise. It will never be my intention. I just don't know how to be at peace anymore.

Travel Help me out! First international travel as an unemployed fresh grad.

Problem/Goal: Hello po! Fresh grad and unemployed po ako. I have an upcoming trip (first international travel) sa HCM Vietnam on Oct 20, and manggagaling sa parents ko ang magiging pocket money (hindi sila kasama). Do I still need to get an AOSG from my mother and proof of employment niya? What supporting documents do I need to bring? Please help me out po, thank you!

Love & Relationships how to keep the peace going?

Problem/Goal: Paano ba namin matitigil yung constant fighting? Not physically but continuous kai magpoint out ng pagkukulang ng isa kahit nagagawa rin naman namin yun. It’s getting out of hand kasi ang dalas na and nakakapagod na.

Context: Me and my are on our 3rd month together. Noong nasa talking stage pa lang, everything is perfect. Napapaisip na rin ako na very compatible kami with each other. But since nung naging kami, okay naman at first, pero lately, grabe na tampuhan namin. Palaging ganto, pinopoint out niya pagkukulang ko kahit he himself is doing it, same goes with me.

Previous attempts: At first inuunawa pa namin isat isa.

Self-Improvement / Personal Development Walang magawa during off.

Problem/Goal: Wala akong magawa tuwing day off.

Most of the time, lumalabas lang kami tuwing weekend after ng work niya.

Kaya kapag day off ko, madalas wala akong ibang ginagawa kundi humiga, mag-cellphone, at manood.

Legal How does RA 7394 help me here and how do I proceed

• Upvotes

Problem/Goal: Refusing to replace a factory defect

Context: I bought a console from the official nintendo store in sm makati, arriving home thats when I noticed the defect on the screen, a malfunctioning pixel or a bubble in the screen

Previous Attempts: I decided to go back to the store and ask for a replacement, wala pang one week after purchasing, the employee told me to go to their vst ehs service center and take my problems there instead since we already "tested the product sa store and inuwi mo na po", but the problem is clearly a screen factory defect, there is no way I could place a bubble inside the screen and if it was user mishandling the screen would be broken or scratched. I brought the receipt and the entire console and they still turned me away, instead asking for my phone number, took pictures of the defective gadget, repeatedly saying sorry, then promising to call me back tomorrow. Im predicting the best they will do is offer a repair but wouldnt that be unfair since from my understanding of the law I should be able to ask for a replacement. Should I open a case to dti for this..

Sex & Intimacy What to do pag na spoil mood ni ldr bf because i rejected his intimate request? NSFW

• Upvotes

Problem/goal: first time sa LDR and hindi ko alam pano inavigate yung intimate aspect.

Context: Hello! I have a foreign bf for 3 months na. Ldr kami tho we have met each other on our first month sa vietnam and did the deed. Now, that i am in the PH and he is in his country, intimacy has become a challenge for us. Gusto nya ng sexy time while i don’t. Not like it’s against my morals or ethics ha, it’s just that Ive never really tried it.

On his past attempts to sexually connect with me, I declined and he was okay. Pero now I think napuno na sya and he asked me why am i so unromantic. I told him i dont find it special kasi if it is via phone. He said we are in a long distance relationship and we are not friends who only just talk. It’s not like he is asking for it everyday, atleast once a month, i do my responsibility as his gf.

Gets ko naman point nya and sa pagpapakatotoo lang eh normal naman talaga yun for ldr couples. Also, it’s not like we’ve never had sex. We had sex when we met so gets na gets ko point nya.

Ang tanong, pano ba kasi to mga teh? Nagtatalo ang isip ko to not do it or to give in to his request kasi nga i am his gf. We’re both working adults na btw.

Love & Relationships how to get away with your in-laws

• Upvotes

Context: feeling unwelcomed, unwanted, and feeling insecure to the new DIL

Previous Attempts: ...

hello ako lang ba ang nakaexperience na favorite ng MIL from the start but after magkaron ng mejo pag-asenso ang partner mo, nag-iba na pakikitungo sayo?

so when my hubs and i started dating (bf-gf palang kami), halos ligawan ako ng MIL ko. lagi nag dadala ng foods sakin, laging nagchachat, lagi akong pinupuri, lagi ako inaaya lumabas, and so on... which i was happy kasi i felt important and favored

after 2-3 years, nung nakapag abroad partner ko, dun na nagstart mag iba pakikitungo sakin ni MIL. felt like tinuring nya ko competition sa anak nya. basta nag-iba sya sakin so naging uncomfy ako, dinistance ko sarili ko sakanya kasi parang iba na nga yung pakikitungo sakin at feel ko napansin nya yun kaya mas lalo kami nag drift away.

for context: middle child partner ko and he started having mommy issues dahil naffeefeel nya na sya yung least favorite at least appreciated child at ginagawa syang breadwinner ng pamilya. ako naman as his partner, vinavalidate ko yung naffeel nya dahil totoo naman na ganun sya ituring and i feel bad for him, so because of this nagstart na ko mainis kay MIL to the point na iniiwasan ko talaga sya.

any advices?

Health & Wellness what is the best shoes for walking and standing long hours?

Problem/Goal: My feet are sore in pain after a day’s work and commute. My goal is to lessen that with a pair of comfortable shoes!

Context: I recently started work and it requires me to stand for long hours and commute long distances. Ever since, I’ve been having troubles with feet pain.

My budget is around 4-5k but feel free to suggest others as well!

Edit: I am required to wear a somehow professional look, my last request is something a little fashionable~

Another context, I do not have an active lifestyle and before working, I was just at home. I do not mind walking but it is uncomfortable with flat shoes.

Previous Attemtps: My only pair of shoes is converse and am planning to buy a more comfortable shoes.

Problem/goal: how can I stop gambling?

Context:
I lost my will right now after managing to earn 5k in a day and then losing it all this after noon from online gambling. I don’t know how to gain it back. I lost my work, my parent’s business is also lost, and I dropped out of college, and currently finding my means to survive and get back but first I need to stop gambling because I’m thinking it would be a fast way out of my financial ruin.

Previous attempts:
I manage to stay clean of 3 weeks last time but when I got extras I tend to gamble it online:<

Love & Relationships How to help ur partner love himself?

• Upvotes

Problem/Goal: Bf (24M) has low self-esteem and insecure about his body shape. He's very conscious about the way he looks and he told me na wala raw makakapagbago with the way he sees himself. I want to help him pero idk how :(

Context: Medyo mataba yung boyfriend ko pero he's not so big naman to the point na it's concerning. He has a belly, some folds, man boobs, double chin, fats here and there and I honestly find it very cute and I love his body a lot. I like squishing his tummy and it makes cuddles 100x better kasi he's so soft. Recently, I found out na he's so conscious with his body shape and tinatry niya itago yung fatty parts niya with the way he dress himself, like wearing bigger shirts or wearing pants a certain way.

Before naging kami, he was already outspoken naman na he has a low self-esteem due to many reasons and he said no'n na it's hard to change his perspective sa sarili niya. And to be honest, I was concerned with that before kasi di ba yung saying na, "you can't love someone until you love yourself" and I was scared na baka maproject niya sa akin yung insecurities niya. But idk how it worked kasi this guy loves me so much in the ways na I wanted to be loved and I didn't know I could be loved. He is such a great partner and never niya prinoject yung mga insecurities niya sa akin. It didn't affect the way he treats me both as a woman and his girlfriend.

I always tell him naman na I love him naman regardless of his shape and size and I will support him kung gusto niya man mag-lose weight or magretain lang, as long as he's healthy and he has good relationship with food. I always tell him din na I love his double chin and tummy, kahit ayaw niya yung mga yun.

He's not a fan of gyms and intense exercises pero he moves and walks a lot. It's just that I think yung body type niya matagal magshed ng weight and siguro, yung sedentary lifestyle niya rin before. Kasi according to him, around pandemic talaga siya lumobo.

I just got sad lang when recently, he told me na he still doesn't like what he sees and he's trying to hide it with clothes. He's still very insecure with himself and I thought na I was already helping him love himself kahit pa-konti konti. I wanted him to feel better about himself kaya I want to help him but idk what to do.

Previous attempts: I always tell him na I love him naman regardless of his shape and size and supportive naman ako with whatever plans he had in terms of weight goals.

Thank you!
