Recommendations? Alternatives to M&S Rosie Balcony Bra? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Earlier this year M&S discontinued the rosie balcony. This was much to my dismay, as I'd been wearing the bra in one size or another for over a decade at this point and I am really struggling to find a suitable replacement :(

I've been refitted at M&S, and tried alternatives from Boux Avenue and VS to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Recommendations? Bras similar to the Elomi Kintai 34H/HH Spoiler

• Upvotes

I’m looking for other bras to try! I currently love my (only connectable) elomi kintai in 34H (uk size) and the calculator gave me the same suggested starting size of 34 H/HH.

While I enjoy this bra a lot and it’s my most comfortable bra the underwire still sits around 1- 1 1/2 inches under my natural IMF.

Now, I feel like I might be a tricky fit. One breast is almost a full cup size larger than the other and I suspect I have high projection.

I’d love to try on other bras that have similar support to the elomi but a better chance at sitting closer to my IMF if possible.

Thank you!

Recommendations? 34H, wires never stay in my IMF. Am I "functionally shallow"? Spoiler

• Upvotes

34H, FOB pendulous projected soft tissue, short narrow roots, probably omega-shaped. I've tried... so many bras.

Right now I have Elomi Brianna and Teagan, and a few Ewa Michalak SF. The Ewa michalaks check the boxes but become really painful after ~4 hours because her wires slide down and they're made of carbon steel lol. The Elomis are too wide but that doesn't really bother me, and they're super cushy so them sliding down doesn't bother me as much. But you know, still not ideal.

I recently came across the term "functionally shallow", meaning that large soft tissue often need shallower bras than one might think, to keep them in place. I haven't really tried any shallower bras, believing projection to be key.

Where do I go from here? What bras to try?

Fit Check [Fit Check] Used to wear 32A, calculator says 28D - does it look right? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Hi bra god(desses)!

I have been wearing 30B/32A generally for the lack of bra sizes where I live, but have been trying new bras per the calculator.

My measurements are below and considering my breasts are quite shallow and not too full, (I think it's broad too), my left boob is slightly larger than the right.

  • Loose Underbust: 72.5cm
  • Snug Underbust: 70cm
  • Tight Underbust: 67cm
  • Standing Bust: 78cm
  • Leaning Bust: 83cm
  • Lying Bust: 82.5cm

I recently bought the below bras and do like the 28D but wonder if it's slightly too big and since it's an underwire, not very flattering and would like some pushup. and the gore doesn't seem to sit well? The Wacoal bra cup shape seems different from my bra shape too so i feel like I don't completely fill the cups.

  1. Wacoal B.Enticing Strapless Bra in 30C and
  2. Freya Sydnie Underwire High Apex Bra in 28D.

Would appreciate your comments and recommendations if any!

Also attached is my old tshirt bra from H&M in 32A for reference - although it's a smaller size than the calculator size, the right cup is definitely gaping.

Recommendations? [Recommendations] Camisole with Built-in Bra for D+ Spoiler

I am so sick of searching to the ends of the earth for a camisole that works for me. I cannot wear most camisoles with built-in bras. That little bandeau gives me zero support and you can always see the outline of my nipples. So, I've always had to wear a bra underneath camisoles. This also sucks because 1. every white camisole is see-through enough that my bra is visible and looks bad, 2. with that problem, its been so hard to find a bra that looks good underneath, and 3. I don't like it when my bra straps are visible.

I've finally decided I need to find a camisole with a built-in bra DESIGNED for bigger busts. I've searched far and wide and just cannot find what I want. I'm looking for a camisole to wear underneath like a cardigan or a button-down shirt. I want it to have a built-in bra with CUPS to hide my nipples and give me good shape, and ideally it would have clasps in the back so I can adjust the tightness. I would also like for it to be more opaque than not because I hate when you can see my cleavage through the fabric. This is mostly a problem with white but I have a black camisole with this problem as well.

Google has failed me with all of it's suggestions, so I'm asking for help here. I forgot that this sub existed until it popped up in my google search for this problem. I didn't see a past post that addressed this exactly so I decided I'll shoot my shot myself. Thanks in advance!

Question I measure at a 32 C/D but I wear a 36 C. Need some advice. Spoiler

I measured myself doing the regular over, under and subtract method and I get 32 D. I also did the Abrathatfits calculator and got 32 C/D. However, I wear 36 C currently. I tried 34 C and felt as thought it was too tight. I also find it really hard to find 32 D or C. Any advice or bra reccomendations would be helpful.

Recommendations? Sensory Friendly Bra Recommendations? Spoiler

Help!

I have tried on endless bras at so many stores trying to find one good staple nude bra that can work under most clothing. I also have sensory sensitivities that make it difficult to find a bra that’s both cute/flattering and comfortable! I was sized at VS (told me like 3 different sizes and none of them fit right lol) and Nordstrom (36C). I had been buying 38C so the bands weren’t as tight but the cups gap and I still always seem to spill out the sides in an unflattering way (like little rolls/cushion- I look kind of wider than the bra)?

I’ve been wearing the same Sunnie Wireless lightly padded bra from Aerie in 34C every day for like 8 years 💀. It is definitely too small around the band and has no life left in it- also makes my boobs look kinda saggy at this point. It has no hardware which I loved but Aerie changed the design and the new one is not as flattering or comfy. I need a new bra so bad but am at a loss so I tried the bra that fits calculator (hopefully I did my measurements right):

Measurements:
Loose Underbust: 34in
Snug Underbust: 33.5in
Tight Underbust: 31in
Standing Bust: 39in
Leaning Bust: 42in
Lying Bust: 40in

US Suggested Starting Size: 34DDD/G (Sister size 36 DD/DDD)
UK Suggested Starting Size: 34E/F (Sister size 36DD/E)

My dream bra is:
- Wireless but still has shape
- Lightly padded (for coverage under shirts when it’s cold 🥶)
- As little metal/hardware as possible (if none- amazing!)
- Deep/plunge cut with thinner/average straps (not the thick/wide ones that look more tank top style) to be able to wear under lower cut shirts and tank tops.

Does such a bra exist? Any help is much appreciated! 🙏🏻

TLDR: seeking comfy, wireless, lightly padded, nude bra with shape and low/plunge neckline!

Recommendations? Bralettes that are just one piece of material, no seams, no padding Spoiler

are there bras where there are no seams at all? like just one flat piece of fabric front and back? I have one from the now defunct Parade, but I dont know where to find more like this.

Question Wireless bra with a gore that doesn’t gap Spoiler

Does it exist? Has anyone invented this? Would there be a market for this? Can you even patent a bra design if you figure it out……….

I’m asking all this bc tbh i’m looking for one online and they all gap, whereas wire bras come flush w ur sternum which I like. I wonder if I should just make my own. I have an idea how to do it. But would that be my million dollar idea?

Recommendations? Looking for recommendations for small comfortable pre-teen bras (24 inch band if that's a thing) Spoiler

My daughter is small for her age and has unfortunately also reached puberty young and is starting to develop to the point where we need to start looking at bras. Based on measurements I think a 24 inch band would be best, a little loose but not too loose, and I think a 26 would be the absolute biggest we could go with. She has some crop tops but if she takes after me they will quickly be insufficient so I want to be prepared.

We are in Australia (where it works out to a size 2 band) so ideally looking for options that are available worldwide or specifically in Australia, but we do travel overseas so at this point I'll take any options. I wasn't able to find bands below a 6 and none of the 6s I found were suitable for a pre-teen anyway. Just looking for something comfortable and supportive as she grows, so I'm thinking maybe lightly padded or unpadded with no underwire, maybe front closure if possible.

Recommendations? Confused about my bra size. 32c fits at the store, I bought amazon essentials bras and they so small. NSFW Spoiler

I was fit at VS (lots of staff, transfriendly and great customer service) they did underbust and bust with the tape. The test bra is a lightly lined Demi and the band was on 2nd to last hooks. Everything felt fine and I think the slight gapping in one side was not too bad. Gore was flat to chest

As an MTF I thought that my ribcage would be a lot more than 32 but whatever.

I bought a 5 different types of closeout 32c amazon essentials bras and they uniformly measure 25-26" max bands (pulling enough to get a 1/2" of stretch to make sure no slack exists) They are insanely tight, (of course since I'm really tugging to get 6" of stretch.) the cups and gore I think feel good. Straps also too tight, I'm 5'11

I wanted to buy online for closeouts and gently used market, but I guess I'll never know what my size should be.

VS lightly lined demi 32c test fit bra I think the fit is acceptable?

Recommendations? [recommendations] professionally sized as 36dd but struggling to find perfect fit Spoiler

hey y’all! i recently was professionally fitted as a 36dd, but am still struggling to find the perfect fitting bra. as far as i can tell, i am east west with wide roots, though im struggling to determine if im full on top or bottom.

the bra i got at my fitting is a wacoal t-shirt bra, but i dont enjoy wearing molded cups, and all the unlined bras i wear don’t help center/push my breasts to the center of my chest, though i enjoy the fact that they don’t push upwards as much and make my chest look larger. i’ve trialed a couple of balconette bras and enjoyed the feel of them, but they sometimes feel like they’re pushing my breasts outward with more projection instead of just up. i’ve also tried a plunge t shirt bra, but it felt like it didn’t hold enough tissue on top.

if anyone has any recommendations for potentially unlined/demi bras that still help with centering and give some lift, but don’t make my chest look larger. i’ve read that minimizers just squeeze the breast tissue to the side, so i don’t think that’s the way i should go? open to advice and seeing what’s possible or providing more measurements.

Recommendations? Looking for alternatives to Pepper Spoiler

I really like the styles and materials of the Pepper bras, but unfortunately right now I can’t swing nearly $100 CAN with tax for a bra.

Has anyone found a similar brand that does large band small cup?

Looking for 42A and not having much luck. Appreciate any suggestions. Tired of light sports bras, lol. Something a bit fancier would be nice.

Appreciated!

Measurement Check New to this, trying to figure out what my actual size is. New 30B bra is TIGHT [Measurement Check] NSFW Spoiler

I have small breasts. I was never taught how to properly measure myself so I’ve worn 34A bras my whole life basically. They fit fine I guess, but lately I’ve been wanting something that feels more flattering, or that will give me some cleavage (if that’s even achievable)

I took my measurements (below) and put them in the calculator and was told I’m a 28C. So I started shopping online and realized many places don’t carry 28C. I decided to buy the sister size of 30B. I bought three different styles of bras from Aerie, all 30B.

All in inches:
Loose Underbust: 28.5
Snug Underbust: 28
Tight Underbust: 27
Standing Bust: 31.5
Leaning Bust: 31.25
Lying Bust: 32

Well I just got them today and the band fits SO tight! Is this normal? Did I measure wrong? The cup is definitely more flush to my breast, which I think is a great start compared to my previous bras! But I felt like the band was just digging into my skin a bit too much, you know? I also felt like it left my boobs feeling too “wide apart”? Like there was boob spillage near the armpits that I had to grab and pull towards the center of my chest (if that even makes sense).

Below are pictures of one of the bras from different angles. You can see how the cup is great, but the band squishes me pretty bad.

https://ibb.co/xKVwJbTq
https://ibb.co/bjtnL0qY
https://ibb.co/bj79vtSJ

So, I don’t really know where to go from here. Are bras just meant to be that snug? If I want a bigger band size, what should the cup be? None of this makes sense to me 😭 is 34A actually my correct size? I just don’t feel like they’ve ever given me the look or cleavage that I’ve wanted.

Recommendations? Alternatives for Understance now that they’ve shut down? Spoiler

I know that this question has been asked a million times about them but often the suggested retailers are in the USA or other. I’d love to encourage another Canadian business.

Also, I’d love recommendations for their “other” items as well, like their underwear and pyjamas. I thought I’d stocked up enough before the shutdown but I don’t know why I thought only 4 panties and 2 pjs was sufficient hahahaha

Thank you to everyone who makes suggestions!

Same Old Lady - Looking at the Bravissimo Esmae Bra - My size 32GG/H UK Spoiler

Yep, I'm still in search of ABTF and limping along with my 34G Panache Ana's on the tightest hooks and no they're not a good fit but they're they'll do in a pinch especially when I can rotate with my Parfait Mia Lace and Dot bras. And yes they do move in the band more than they should.

Measurements in inches, afab: 33, 31.8, 30.8; 41, 43, 40.5 32GG/H UK. Semi-self supporting, close set (leaning they touch), very full on top (all my horizontal fullness as it were), center more full than outer - short and narrow roots - needing immediate projection at the roots - you know all the things that are @#$%ing impossible to fit once one is past a G cup. So happy to be in my shoes, as a side did you know that your feet continue to grow as you age - remember to get that checked every 5 years or so. Boobs and feet and ears oh my...

Bravissimo Esmae looks like it might work, but I need some feed back from people who have actually tried the bra. Not the reviews of "looks great, fits well, it's soo sexy". None of that information is at all helpful and of course no one yet has measured it for bratabase.com.

Y'all when you review a bra, let's not talk about how perfect is is without idk maybe a bit about how exactly it fits. Out of the two pages of reviews there was only one who said that it wasn't as projected in their size as the Panache Ana, this person was a 28GG. Which is possibly a red flag for me as Panache Ana in 32GG doesn't have enough room at the wire for me.

If any one here has tried the bra, what is the cup separation in your size? Where is the apex near the wire or further up in the cup. At $82.00 plus shipping I need answers and actual fit references not "it's so pretty, or so comfortable" that doesn't tell me anything.

Fitters if you know this bra please enlighten me.

I'm also looking at Freya Alanna Plunge and Balcony - pictures look like the gore may be narrow enough and the cups might work? At this point I hate having boobs - but here we are them and me... and yes I know I'm looking for a unicorn and may have to try Ewa Michalak S bras, or Comexim 3HC again. I do take breaks for my mental health.

Recommendations? [recommendations] 30H/I US, narrow shoulders. I haven't worn a proper bra since having kids and I don't know where to start looking. Spoiler

Looking for bra recommendations that are ultra comfortable, lightly lined, narrow shoulders/close straps (but not racerback). I assume underwire is uncomfortable, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

I've been wearing a kindred bravely nursing bra (size small, super busty) for the past 3 years as it was the only thing I could find that worked. It's uncomfortable, badly padded, and I'm not nursing anymore! I have narrow shoulders and everything I see online for larger bust looks wide. I'm scared to shell out so much cash for something that won't work. I'm so shocked at the size(s) I seem to need too, prior to kids I wore a (probably badly fitting) 32 C. I keep thinking I must be putting in my measurements wrong!

Lately I've been going bra-less a lot, I hate the digging and pinching and rubbing from uncomfortable bras, I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a birdcage on my chest. But I'm a private person and I need something to secure the ladies when I'm out and about! Please help a girl out 💕

Edit to add measurements (inches):

Bust: 37.5, 40 (90 degrees), 37.5 (laying) Under: 31, 30, 28.5

Discussion On the topic of US mass produced bras and their advertising… Spoiler

Since the VS runway show is out and we all know how terribly that really expensive bra fit… Has anyone seen the recent tv ad for Bali bras? Of course the model was wearing a “bra hat” and I was shaking my head over the poor fit, now that I’m in the know of how bras should really fit. Then my husband says, unprompted, “that bra isn’t her size and fits her terribly.” I turn to look at him and commend him on his sharp eye and he said that he’s been listening to me during my bra journey and taking notes! I’ve got a good one right there.

I know I should get 36 DD or 38DD. Just unsure which one?

Fit Check First purchase since doing the calculator - not sure I'm quite there yet. Freya Fancies 32FF Spoiler

I posted the other day for recommendations (https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/s/84hCCm426X)

I've now tried on one of the bras that was recommended and I'm not sure about it so wanted to see how you guys think we could improve now I have a baseline to work from!

It's the Freya Fancies Plunge in 32FF.

https://ibb.co/Txy68j33

https://ibb.co/Wp32KFJT

https://ibb.co/39xjfxyz

https://ibb.co/21w4F91m

First of all, I'm not sure if you can see from the pictures but the gore is actually sitting on my breast on the right (bigger) side. I chose the plunge because I thought it would have a lower gore and I'm very close set, but it still isn't sitting where it should.

Secondly the lace is a sensory nightmare! It seems like a lot of the larger bras are not padded or lined so I gave it a go anyway but I'm not sure I could stand to wear it for long.

What should I try next?

EDIT: also not a great fit for the back rolls!! https://ibb.co/zhRCdngZ

Recommendations? New to this page. ABTF guide gave me size 28C/D or 30B. I’m having trouble finding brands that I trust may fit. Spoiler

I gave up on “real” bras long ago and pretty much rely on tight sports bras or bralettes that rarely truly fit well anyways. help? My band measurement is 28in. bust is about 31in.

Question Longline bra band folding - is it a problem?

I’m a 38F and until now I have exclusively worn underwired bras. However, I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome which makes my skin extremely fragile. I’ve found all my life that if I wear my bra for more than 8 hours, I start getting red welts where the underwire or any side boning start digging. Everything is perfectly comfortable for the first 8 hours, and as far as I know the fit is correct (had a fitting), but any longer than that and my skin starts putting up a fuss.

I’m really tired of it, so I’ve just spent 2 hours in Bravissimo looking for a wireless bra. I hated every style except one. It’s extremely comfortable and really pretty too. The catch is that I’m fat and have rib flare, and this style is semi-longline. The wide band folds in half upwards when I move. The band is so soft though that I can’t feel the folding, and it still looks pretty. You can’t really tell that it’s folded up on itself.

I bought it anyway because I felt a bit defeated by the end and it was the only one I liked the feel and look of. But is this… a problem? Should I return it?
