Hello, I am an Alberta Student. I am currently interested in applying for engineering in Victoria, but im unsure as to whether or not I have the chance to make early admission. I have also heard of other universities (UBC, and some in Ontario) who give adjustments for Albertan students, but I'm not exactly sure if UVic does the same.

Lost in Translation? Homer’s Odyssey and Catullus in Love

The translation of Greek and Latin texts has become a subject of social and mainstream media discourse following the release of Christopher Nolan’s film The Odyssey.  In particular, Emily Wilson’s translation of Homer’s Odyssey has (re)emerged as a lightning rod for controversy.  This interactive workshop will offer attendees an opportunity to compare select translations of Homer’s Odyssey and Catullus’ love poems and to consider the following questions:  What are the purposes of translation?  What factors shape different approaches to translation?  How do translators make ancient texts accessible to a modern readership?  What makes a translation successful?

Trying to apply to transfer universities and I’m a bit confused. When selecting program I chose my program as bachelor of science, when I go to select a major there is no molecular life sciences options. The only options that appear are biology, chemistry, physics, and math? So I choose biology because I plan on majoring in microbiology? help is appreciated!
