If anyone could take a minute to read our story, it would mean so much to us. 🥺
I run Hope for Paws UAE, a small home-based rescue caring for around 80 cats and 5 dogs. We’ve been posting and sharing them for months, hoping someone would adopt them, but the adoptions just aren’t happening.
We need to reduce the number of animals in our care within the next month. With our housing situation becoming uncertain, we urgently need people who can adopt some of our cats and dogs or take some of them into safe, responsible foster homes.
Now our landlord isn’t renewing our tenancy, and we need to find another place for the animals. We simply cannot afford to rent another villa large enough for everyone.
On top of that, we’re paying almost AED 3,000 every month just for electricity to keep the animals cool in this UAE heat. At this point, we’re struggling to pay the bill, and we’re terrified that the electricity will soon be disconnected because we have no way to settle it.
We’re also struggling to afford food and veterinary bills. We have several sick cats who need medical attention, but our outstanding balances have made it difficult to get veterinary clinics to accept more cases.
I’m honestly overwhelmed trying to figure out how we’re going to manage everything.
What we desperately need right now is visibility and people who can help us reach the right audience.
If you know any UAE influencers, content creators, animal lovers, or public figures who might be willing to share our rescue, please connect us with them. Even one repost could help an animal find a home.
If you’re in the UAE and have been thinking about adopting, please consider our animals. And if you know anyone who could responsibly take in a few cats or dogs, please share our page with them.
Instagram: @hopeforpaws_uae

Please follow, share, and help us reach more people. We’ve been trying for months, and we cannot keep waiting and hoping someone will eventually come across our posts.
These animals depend on us, and I desperately want to find a way forward for them before it’s too late. ❤️🐾

Title: Umrah Package Scam, Need Help, Scammers : Al Rasheed Travel and Tourists
My friend was planning his first Umrah and saving his hard earned salary. We never imagined anyone could scam people in the name of Allah and religion.
In December 2025, he found an Instagram story ad from Al Rasheed Travel and Tourists. He contacted them and transferred 1500.AED to their bank account shared via WhatsApp.
Our departure was scheduled for 14 January 2026, but they later said the group was full and promised a refund or rescheduling. My friend had already taken 10 days of leave, so he booked with another company and completed his Umrah الحمد لله.
Since then, he has politely followed up every month, but they kept delaying. Eventually, they told him to do whatever he wanted or keep waiting, then blocked him on all their WhatsApp numbers. They also disabled Instagram comments. And don't know much of things to do.
What can we do to recover the money, and prevent others from being scammed? Any advice would be appreciated.

Seen a lot of comments about racism in the gulf including the UAE. The Kuwaitis abused an ex MAN UTD because one of his parents is Pakistani! I’ve noticed there’s an Emirati influencer using coded racism about Asians/Muslims in Britain with far right followers on X.
Is there a wide spread problem of racism in the Gulf or are the people who complain of racism in the UAE and the Gulf more isolated expamples including this footballer?
The Emiratis and a lot of the Gulf Arabs look similar to Pakistanis - I remember highlighting the Sheikh Al Maktoum pic in the Daily Mail with his entourage and thinking they look like they could fit in in Birmingham amongst the Pakistani/Asian community there
If you’re an Indian or Pakistani in the UAE and Gulf what are your experiences and do you think it’s just due to the ethnic/racial hierarchy or caste/tribal system in the UAE and the region
Also I think REPUTATION is important and a country or region should try to avoid getting a reputation for racism or racial hierarchical systems as it will harm the region economically (less investment and holiday makers)
I strongly suspect the footballer (who is from the U.K. actually) has never experienced racial abuse like that in Britain - Britain is a leader and can be a good example in this regard for the UAE and the Gulf)

What’s a habit you picked up in Dubai without even realising?
Checking traffic before saying yes to plans, carrying a jacket just for the AC, or asking “Is parking available?” before asking anything else 😂
What’s something you do automatically now that you never used to do before living here?
And have you caught yourself doing it when you’re back in your home country?

Three kittens without a mother urgently need a safe place -Mirdif
I’ve been feeding these three kittens for the past 10 days, and I haven’t seen their mother around. I’ve seen some female cats coming to eat, but they run away, and I don’t know if any of them is their mother. Other ladies who work in the area and pass by regularly have also told me they’ve never seen a mother cat with them.
They’re around 4–5 weeks old and have started walking around and exploring. Unfortunately, this is becoming dangerous for them. There’s a large sandy area nearby where men live and ride small motorised vehicles. The kittens are starting to wander further away, and I’m afraid they could get run over.
This morning, when I came at 5 a.m. to feed them, one kitten was missing. I searched the entire sandy area and eventually found him behind it, inside a nearby compound. I brought him back, but I can’t keep them safe in this location.
I’m also worried because it’s parvo season. On top of that, the cleaner removes their water and dry food in the morning, usually around 6:30–7 a.m. I can return to feed them at 4 p.m., but they cannot go all those hours without water, especially in this heat and humidity. They’re no longer getting milk from their mother, so access to water is essential.
Please, can anyone foster or adopt these three kittens? Even a safe garden or another secure place would be much better than where they are now.
I’m really worried that something will happen to them if they stay here. Please help me find them somewhere safe.

Do you guys feel attached to your car?
I’ve realised that vehicle ownership in this country is always temporary. Once you have to leave you need to sell your car. No matter how much I love my car, the feeling of true ownership is not there and it makes me sad lol.

A sign to take my money and run??
I’ve been using this bank for the past 3 years and the banking service has been really efficient and smooth. Really great service.
For the past 2 months, I’ve been receiving email notifications of different branches closing permanently. Is this a sign I should be worried about?

Annoying online shopping experience.
Why do i need to watch ads and sponsored product when i simply want to search a product even after i paid for subscription. Its completely irrelevant and make the shopping hard and annoying.
Im so fedup that i stopped buying anything online. Secondly, cancelled my credit like Emirates islamic amazon card and ENBD noonOne, Because there is no "exclusive shopping experience" left out for an individual even after he is paying for subscription.
Not sure, its just UAE online problem or entire global. But this need to be stop. You want to sponsor a product ? Fine Create a separate market place for that. Atleast try to keep the relevance of product.

Help please!
Hi, I am in need of help which i am sure no one but the Sheikh can help me with.
I will write out of heart hoping someone can help me, my mother had gone through a very tough 4 years with her business, and unfortunately we had been scammed, stolen from and literally cornered to worse than bankruptcy.. reason for all this is literally so obviously a person with money and strength here from abu Dhabi stole literally our business from us through scam.
Since then we can’t even barely pay a lawyer and she has gone so ill she cant travel cant leave the house cant do anything and i’m 25 years old working day by day to try pay rent/bills/medics a lot more, even we owe a huge amount to people and old employees, multiple cases and court orders that are fake but we literally can’t afford any lawyer as all ask for money before anything.
I am pleading for any way to meet or ask for help legally i don’t need assistance of money i just need them to hear me or her out.
I have tried so many things even for hospitals to apply for aid for her surgeries but non worked out.
Is there a way i can send that plea or meet up with them, please help.
Thank you for hearing me out.

Art house cinema cuts in the UAE
Hello all. Wanted to understand cinema censorship in the UAE. Do art house cinemas here showcase movies with nudity, drug use and LGBTQ themes nowadays? I can see Cinema Akil has shown Old Boy before which has a lot of graphic nudity

Courier Rep Interesting Argument!
I had the chance to select cheaper companies, but thought, let's go with the expensive one because of flexibility and a better experience!
I had a shipment to pick up for attestation. Since I know they usually come in the morning, I reached out to CS and rescheduled it to the afternoon, as I am at work in the morning and nobody is at home.
The next morning, I got the rep's call:
Me: Hi, I've already rescheduled.
Rep: But I have a route, sir.
Me: Yes, I know, that's why I rescheduled.
Rep: It's difficult to come back.
Me: What should I do now? Your office already confirmed the reschedule.
Rep: Do you have the doc with you?
Me: No, it's at the same address (home). Why would I keep it in my bag?
Rep: But you know we can pick up from anywhere!
Me: Why didn't you advise me yesterday? How should I know?
Rep: I can't come in the afternoon, what should we do now!
Me: This problem you discuss with your office, not me!
He was very upset! I ended up leaving work early, reached home early, and called him back. When he came, he was still upset and acting like he was blaming me as if I had made the mistake.
Before he left, he even instructed me: "When I deliver the shipment back, it must be in the morning time!"
I was shocked by this new attitude that I have never faced before from a rep of such a company, and I decided not to deal with them again.
I thought for a moment about reporting this, but I hesitated. I feel all people nowadays are under too much pressure, life has become very expensive, and companies resist supporting their staff properly.
I decided not to report it, leave it behind, and let life go on!
Would you have reported this, or let it go too? And what should I do when he delivers the document back and insists on morning time again?

I’m looking for a carpool from Muweilah Commercial to JLT, Monday to Friday, and I need to reach JLT by 9:15 AM.
With the rising fuel costs, I’m happy to contribute towards fuel expenses. If anyone travels on the same route and has a similar schedule, please DM me!
