I hear across many groups and I could even smell it outside my home , wondering what this is? I asked friends around and it seems like a leak.

Do you smell it too? Feels like the petrol station just evaded the city ?

I was just in my balcony and there’s this strong petroleum smell in the air. Anyone else who smells it? Or someone who knows the cause?

The smell of sewage, drains, and mosquito spray has been here since the afternoon and it’s genuinely so nauseating to the point where I had to spend my entire day in a hotel. no matter how much I cleaned the smell wouldn’t go away. I have no clogged drains or sewage problems but I’ve seen others complain about this smell. Have you also had a bad smell in your homes?

I've been trying to be more conscious of where my money goes. I've read a lot of stories about Israeli exporters disguising the country of origin, and dates seem to be a big case of this.

I found these dates at Viva. The box says "Jordanian Medjoul Dates," but there's no company name, farm, packer, or importer anywhere on the front, so I can't verify the source.

Does anyone recognize this packaging, or know who supplies it?

Any tips on how to trace the real source?

I have always suffered from a fear of death, ever since I was little. When I was 12, one night I couldn’t sleep at all and I randomly ran to my mother and began to cry in her lap and I repeatedly said “we’re all going to cry one day” and that has stuck to me to this day.

A childhood friend of mine passed a few days ago, suddenly dropped dead out of nowhere and I don’t think I’ve ever been this shaken up in my adult life ever. He was kind, giving, energetic, he was what I think every man in his late 20’s aspires to be. And yet, he’s now gone. Just like that.

With every death, I find my fear multiplied. I begin to question every decision, I ask myself am I doing enough? Last night, I asked myself the toughest question that a Muslim asks himself, am I content with meeting god today and the answer has never been yes. I don’t believe I’m a good Muslim, not one bit. I’ve committed my fair share of sins, although now, I’m doing my best every day to reduce them and I have.

I think I wanted to pour my heart out and have someone anonymous listen to me rather than keeping it all in my head. It might drive me crazy soon. But I also need advice, I believe that my fear of death is connected to my distance from Islam. How do I fall in love with Islam and how do I fall in love with worship? I hope that question doesn’t result in me getting judged for it. But I genuinely am at a turning point in my life where I want to be good. I want to do good by god, by my family, by my loved ones. What better way is there than this?

Hi, I'm into sales and there is a manufacturing company in al quoz delaying our payment since many days. We have all their pdc cheques but all cheques bounce because of insufficient balance. When i try to talk to purchase or accounts they keep saying client payment delay and next week they will make bank transfer but nothing has been done.

I'm looking for suggestions to how we can recover our money. As a sales person payment collection is part of my job and since many days I'm dealing with anxiety and depression due to this incident. This company is also taking the material from new suppliers instead of paying the old ones. The purchase manager is also corrupt (he suggests putting fake prices on invoice keeping personal commission and promises for payment on time and giving regular requirements but after some time he is also not answering my phone and calls. Whenever i go there and try to meet the purchase manager or accountant, their answer is still the same.....

Please suggest how we can recover the money. We have pdc cheque, invoice and proof of material delivered (the factory is still running, it's not shutdown)but there's no proof that i paid commission to the manager bcz it was paid in cash in his office... Please help me out guys..

I can't believe I am the one posting a post like this myself, I have seen so many other similar posts and I get it now, when times are tough everything is more difficult, not able to even think what to do and how to come out of this and it's the desperation that makes people post these kind of posts.

I am 38 ywar old disabled person and the sole bread winner of the family, I'm a veteran in my field of supply chain and I have been out of a job for a few months, used up all my savings, got help from friends and family with whatever they could help and right now left with nothing to survive, I might even be homeless soon, the stress of it all is taking a toll over my health and my relationship with my wife.

I am digitally folding my hands and requesting anyone who has been in a similar situation to hear my plea, any help, a job, a lead for a job, anything that will help would be highly appreciated, I have no where else to go, I can't go back to India because I have been here my whole life in uae,I have nothing to go back to.

I know there are plenty of scammers trying to fleece money out of people here by telling a sob story, I ain't one of them, I'm at the end of my wits and depressed because of my situation.

Early 30s, moved to Dubai from Europe earlier this year. Back home my career went well: senior role in the creative industry, worked with big international brands, built a few things from scratch.
Since I got here, nothing has really closed, and not for lack of trying:
Pitched to a few big companies. Good meetings, then silence.
Applied to a lot of jobs. Hardly any replies.
Working on my own business idea with potential partners. They're interested, but everything hinges on one more step that keeps taking longer.
I've been putting in full-time hours for months without income, and my savings are slowly going down.
The money isn't the worst part yet, I still have some runway. It's the feeling that everything moves away right before it closes. Some days I feel completely drained, and it puts strain on my relationship, which I really don't want.
Today I spoke to a friend in the same industry who was fully booked last year. Same situation now, same confusion. Weirdly, that helped. Maybe it's the market and not just me.
So:
Is the creative and marketing market here just slow right now, or am I missing something?
