Admissions Getting Your Second Choice Offer Doesn't Mean You Were Rejected From Your First Choice

Accepting Your Second-Choice Offer

Should you receive an offer to your second-choice program, you are encouraged to accept it and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit (if applicable).

What happens to my first-choice program if I accept my second-choice program? Your first-choice program will continue to be assessed throughout the application cycle. If you receive an offer to your first-choice program at a later date, you can accept this and your non-refundable tuition deposit will be transferred from your second-choice offer to your first-choice offer.

Admissions Dates + Deadlines for Admissions

If you got accepted between October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 you have until May 1, 2027 to accept your offer as per here.

The need to accept within 14 days refers to offers made after August 1, 2027.

I have already seen two people have reading comprehension fails on this.

Rants Chat is it over for me

I just transferred here from UBC and practically none of my credits transferred, so I’m basically redoing first year, but I’m lowk not that down with my program and I’m thinking about switching AGAIN. I didn’t switch majors when transferring schools, the programs are just set up differently and focus on different aspects, and I thought transferring here would bring my passion for it back, (plus I hated UBC with a burning passion), but I kinda just feel like I’m going nowhere.
The program here is tiny (that’s why I’m not saying what it is, I don’t want to doxx myself) and because it’s so small I just feel so isolated. I don’t have time to take any classes outside of my major, and most of the people in my classes are from here and already have their friend groups. I don’t really go out or do anything ever. I also just don’t feel much passion or love for what I’m studying. I absolutely adore one of my classes, but I kinda really don’t like any of the others. I just don’t know if I can do this for 4 years. I just really don’t want be a first year for the THIRD time though 😭

Academics BIOCH 320 Studying Tips

Hey guys, recently just had my first biochem 320 mid term and it didn’t go as well as I wanted. I did all the practice questions, practice mid term, even attended a study group and felt like I had a pretty good grasp of the material but it wasn’t reflected on my exam. I’ve contacted a tutor for some extra help but was wondering if anyone else had any tips or extra practice. Any advice is appreciated <3

Rants Final year blues

Man is anyone else getting crazy final year depression? I mean I was depressed throughout my degree but im actually losing it this fall.

It's just so much pressure. I dont know why I did this degree. I feel like it took so much out of me and im a shell of the person that I was when I started. In these years I've lost so much, my health my sanity, all I had going for me were my grades and im pulling the lowest grades of my entire career this semester. I kinda want to just drop my courses. I feel like a loser for wanting to give up right before the finish line but I honestly dont see anything waiting for me at the end. I see years of wasted time, money and energy and instead of finding myself I lost myself slowly year by year.

I had one thing I thought i could rely on and that was graduating this year and now i just cant do this anymore. Not really sure where to even go for support, my friends graduated last year, my therapist told me I might never love life, doctors claim there nothing wrong with me. Not sure if theres any final year peer support or anything either.

Admissions Why are people not getting into Dentistry?

I’ve been going through some posts and keep seeing that people with good stats get rejected.

What were your stats if you were a successful applicant?

Any idea why people not be getting in, even with the gpa cut off?

Question Help with managing midterms

So I messed up my chem midterm which was worth 10% and phy 130 midterm which was worth 20% (knew the stuff but blanked out completely, which lead to choosing random answers).

Now, the coming week is very heavy. I have engg 130 and math 100 midterms along with engl 199 graded assessment 2. And also the second chem midterm on 31.

For those who have been through first yr eng, and for those who have been doing well so far, can you please guide on what yall do to be successful and achieve high grades..?

I feel very worried. Competition is very high. And I have fallen behind already.

Need some tips or advice or anything that you think might help me do better.

Question Will a W affect med school applications?

I’m in first-year neuro and thinking of withdrawing from one course, leaving me with four courses and a W.
Does anyone know if this would affect Canadian med school applications, especially uofa or ucalgary?

Academics Cooked in first year eng

I barely passed first two exams phys 130 and chem 103 and studied hard for both of them. I have no idea how to study anymore. I was spamming practice questions and felt good about phys 130 going into the maciejko midterm and then bombed it. What are the best ways to study for all first year eng courses?

Academics How many days and hours do you study for midterm?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Jeez I did not know I had another midterm 4 days before my Finance Midterm

I messed up with my 1st fin exam so I was hoping to improve this time

BUT turns out that I have 3 midterms back to back with 4 days gap 💀

I usually start studying for midterms 5~7 days before but my schedule won't work that way

I'm so done with this 😭

Please tell me how to manage my time, like how many hours do I have to study per day or when should I start my studying... What to do first kinda things yk

Do you guys think it's a good idea to start 3 midterm studies at the same time? Or would that distract me from focusing on one

I was hoping to study on campus today (Saturday) but most libraries close at 5pm. I know that Cameron’s basement is open 24/7 and sub. But is there any other place I can study like ucomms or just general area, or will I get kicked out?

Academics Has anyone ever successfully completed a grade appeal that they submitted to the department after the published deadline??

Grade appeal is due to an online glitch that impacted final exam grade during August exam. Tried to contact prof several times right after, no response. Didn't realize exam grade appeal could be made for directly to course dept. until recently, though the deadline to appeal to dept. has already passed. Wondering if anything can still be done.

Rants Feeling undeserving of being here

I know this might just come off as a dramatic first-year student post, but I really need a place to say this and hopefully get some tips from students who are further along than me. I'm currently in my first year of a BA in Criminology, a program I worked incredibly hard to get into, and honestly, it's been a dream come true. But now that a month has passed, I feel incredibly stupid. My grades don't seem to reflect the amount of time and effort I'm putting into these courses.

I recently took both my PSYCH 105 and SOC 100 midterms. I scored a 72% in psychology and a 69% in sociology (exam I felt highly prepared for, and felt confident about). I have an exam pretty much every week, and I feel really embarrassed that so many others seem to manage this workload—even in courses far more difficult than mine—and still exceed, while I feel like I can't. My current averages barely meet the GPA I'm supposed to maintain to stay in Criminology (2.7), which worries me greatly. The majority of my classes base my grade completely on exams, and I'm starting to worry it might be the way I study, or that I'm simply unfit to be here. I haven't been in the best place mentally since starting university, but I really don't want to use that as an excuse for how I'm performing academically.

Does anyone have any study methods or tips for courses that are really heavy on memorization? Or just general advice? I would be so grateful for anything at all.
