In general Ezekiel and his people have grown on me sooo much. I love it.
I'm more of a medieval fantasy person in general, so that might play into the reason why I enjoy the Kingdom so much.
I'm on season 8 ep4 for the first time right now.
I'm always happy when Jerry is on screen.
Got nothing more to say than that.

This is by far my favorite episode so far, the acting is phenomenal, the emotion, the presence, the episode’s ability to connect with your emotion is outstanding. I used to hate Father Gabriel but man he has grown so much, I gotta give it to him, used to not like Sasha in s5 but I like her now. This episode is so good. I hated the governmor and morgan but for some weird reason I could never hate Negan and now I’m questioning my morals lol! He is honestly fun to watch, his fun side evens out his dark side and I like that. Used to not care about Rosita and Eugine but the delivery of their characters is unexpected, the actors are doing a great job giving justice to their characters. This season might be my favorite

I'm rewatching the original series, and whether you love him or hate him, you can't deny that Negan has some awesome lines. My favourites are a combination between him saying to Sasha, "You've got some beach ball-size lady nuts on you, coming in all kamikaze like that," and him calling Beta "Frowny McTwo-knives."
I'd love to hear other people's favourite Negan lines.

Shane is my least favorite part of Seasons 1 and 2, and I don't understand why so many fans act like he was some misunderstood genius who was simply "ahead of his time."
I don't care if Shane supposedly adapted to the apocalypse faster than everyone else. The man was a whiny, entitled crybaby who threw a tantrum practically every time something didn't go his way. Almost every scene with him involved yelling, arguing, threatening someone or throwing a fit because Rick wasn't doing what he wanted.
And the whole "Shane was right" argument gets old when you remember how much of his behavior was driven by jealousy, insecurity and his obsession with Lori. He wasn't some brilliant survivalist. He was an emotionally unstable man who couldn't handle losing control of a group or accept that his best friend's wife didn't want him anymore.
What annoys me most is how fans criticize Lori for her mistakes but somehow excuse Shane's behavior because he understood how brutal the new world was. Understanding the apocalypse doesn't automatically make you a good leader.
And yes, I know that means Jon Bernthal did his job right if I hate Shane this much, and I think he gave a great performance. But I just don't like Shane as a character at all, and not even in the way you're supposed to enjoy a good antagonist. I don't find him entertaining to hate. I just find him exhausting to watch, especially on rewatches.
Shane wasn't ahead of his time. He was a crybaby, and I'm glad Rick finally put an end to his nonsense.

I’ve been watching The Walking Dead since season 4 came out (I was a kid). And I think I’m the only person I know in real life who actually finished the show lol.
I’m an adult now and I frequently start rewatches of the show. I get a various number of seasons in before it sputters out. But without fail, when I really binge it, I’ll get occasional nightmares with zombies in them. Of course, they’re kinda scary at the time, but I always wake up feeling like I watched a special episode of The Walking Dead where I was in it.
Sometimes I have to actually fight them with random objects I have (once it was a knitting needle). I’ve been bitten a few times too lol.
I love the show so much. So when I see zombies in my dreams, it’s like more of the show haha. But I’m actually terrified of zombies in real life… like I know they aren’t real, but the thought of them walking around… ugh. Zombie haunted houses always scare me the most. I’m so afraid of a bite to the neck lol. Think about it- they can grab you with their hands and bite the muscles off your bones… fucking ew.
So anyway, Happy Halloween! Everyone go snuggle up inside and watch some spooky zombie episodes! Or watch the one where Murder Jacket Rick bites that dude’s neck.

Just a thought I've had upon rewatch. What if in s5, Abraham was forced to make a choice on who to save: Rosita or Eugene. He chooses Eugene but then as in S5 E5, Eugene admits he's not a scientist.
I think this would create much more tension in the group and create strong character divides. Maybe Glenn or Maggie has to shoot Abe so he doesn't kill Eugene. Then, if he survives, he develops a deeper resentment towards Eugene, which could create some interesting character moments and development.
But what do you guys think?

Genuine question. I'm on Season 7 Episode 16 now for the first time.
I get it's different to like a character as a person and as a character. But I don't like Negan as either tbh.
He's cringey af and the only thing that makes him "scary" is his violent cruel tendencies. As proven by his 'wives' and what he did to Spencer.
He's a rapist, which immediately makes me personally despise him.
Now, I'm not shitting on people who like him. I really want to know why you do. Did you like him back in season 7 as well?
Is it because he's edgy? Honestly?
He's interesting only in the psychological sense but even then there's many characters who are much more interesting in that regard.
So please, enlighten me. I'm not gonna argue with you over liking him or anyone else. That's always subjective

I know this question gets asked a lot, but I’m always interested in hearing new perspective:
What character deaths would you have changed? Any characters that should’ve lived longer/died earlier? Would you swap their death with someone else or change it all together?
r/thewalkingdead • u/NishimuraRikisWife • 19h ago
personally, i think beth, glenn, and carl are the saddest in the entire series. like, no matter how much i rewatch this show i ALWAYS cry my eyes out at these three character deaths. these hit way too close to home for me :')

Why do they just stand there, gun in hand, and watch their friends get horrifically eaten alive!?😭 I understand saving bullets but to be honest I don’t think most characters are thinking that rationally at all times. it’s something I always think about watching the show

Spoilers for a season 4 death that happened forever ago but it’s new to me: Hershel….
HERSHELLLLLLLL NOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😭😭😭
It’s so silly because I actually knew about this death going into the show, I just didn’t know when and how!! Genuinely— HOW DO PEOPLE GET THROUGH THIS SHOW?? Y’all are stronger than me. Hershel’s death broke my heart. (I probably will still watch the show… but as a bitter woman…)
And oh my god, the Governor not only killing him, but making sure he finished the job by going out of his way to chop his head off… Beyond brutal. In my opinion, Michonne let the Governor off way too easy, the Governor deserved to die the exact way Hershel did. Don’t get me started about Michonne having to put Hershel down as a walker… If there weren’t tears in my eyes already, good lord.
When I know a character will die in a series I typically try my best not to get attached to them, but I couldn’t help it with Hershel. All honesty, he reminds me strongly of my recently late grandfather which is why it sickened me as much as it did. This isn’t a critique on the show per se— I know why they did it. He’s the morality of the group, he keeps them grounded— and they’re trying to shake things up. You can know why it’s written that way and still wish they killed literally any other character. Sometimes I find myself thinking “Can this show let me have ANYTHING??” Rick really shouldn’t have given that whole speech and just agreed to leave… but honestly knowing the governor he would have killed Hershel and/or Michonne anyways.
What I will criticize is the Governor living as long as he did. The guy from Woodberry finding the Governor in the walker pit and NOT killing him made no sense. He KNOWS the governor is a psychopath. Yes he was with a group of ladies and a child, but you could kill him and just explain the situation to them. Idiot move. Though I have to give the actor for the Governor his flowers, he was born to play that role and was almost too good. Rest in peace Hershel, you were the best, and Governor burn in hell.
I’ve stayed away from everything walking dead related in my power so I don’t know many fan opinions— but is Hershel a controversial death or a fan favorite like he is for me? I live in Georgia and of course everyone has watched TWD here, and everyone I talk to never mentions Hershel as a favorite, but he was easily in my top 3.

I’ve got an almost 10 year old who’s obsessed with wanting to watch the show- I’ve never watched it and won’t have the opportunity to watch it without them so asking here for advice!
They aren’t scared of really anything horror, nor squeamish at all, obsessed with things like FNAF and the entire lore, writes their own horror stories that are mega gruesome IMO, never been phased by any of the movies we’ve watched like HP, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, etc.
If anyone else has watched it with a similar age kid I’d love to hear your thoughts please!
