I played RealFlight G2 as a kid in 2003, +23 years later, my first actual real heli.
galleryI was curious how well the memory of playing RealFlight G2 (computer game) 23 years ago (in 2003) would carry over into 2026. (I played hundreds and hundreds of hours as a kid as I had few other games)
Crazy addicted already, it's day 25 and I ended up buying a total of 3 Goosky S1s with 16 batteries and tons of parts to deal with the crashes and repairs. So many repairs (even super gluing various parts and flying with bent tail booms while parts were in the mail).
Flying every day:
Week 1. Lots of self-leveling mode practice, mostly survival, 10+ crashes. First attempts at a roll or flip (three rough successes, 7 crashes. Became very good at self-leveling mode and maxed out what can be done with limited angles of this mode. Any attempts at manual/3d mode lead to crashes though in about 5-10 minutes. Flying for 3 days at 11,500 feet during a camping trip in the mountains was a unique training experience (15,000 foot density altitude due to 75F temps)
Week 2. Transition into full manual/3d mode with successful flying, Tail-in hovering, Nose-in hovering. Figure 8s. More attempted flips and rolls collective control with recovery and some crashes.
Week 3. Huge flying breakthroughs: Excellent tail-in flips and rolls with chained flips and rolls with collective control (eye level altitude flips and rolls). Begun nose-in flips and rolls. Attempted inverted hovering at high altitude with room to recovery (very rudimentary inverted hovering for 5-20 seconds) with some crashes.
Week 3.25 Long flying sessions of 1-2 hours with minimal issues or crashes with mastered chained flips, rolls, stall/hammer turns, diagonal flips. Experimenting with chaotic corkscrews at high altitude.
Week 3.5. I bought a heli simulator (neXt) and controller to practice inverted flying, backwards flying, and the more advanced 3D manuevers. I can do some decent tail-in inverted hovering and ok flying in the simulator.
Conclusions:
It seems my flying RealFlight G2 some +23 years ago as a kid has helped tremendously in present day with my first real Helis and the training. It seems that many of the skills developed back then are still very available with relearning (though I've completely forgotten and am relearning inverted hovering via PC simulator)
The Goosky S1 is such a fun and incredible helicopter. It can take a beating and be repaired with parts or glue. It's small enough to take to a park and even accidentally slamming it into my leg, left a bruise and nothing more. Highly recommend!

Discussion Land vs Air vs Water
Environments: Land vs Air vs Water
Which environment do you think is more fun for RC? Obviously land is by far the most common followed by air and then water. There are a lot of options for each like:
Land:
- Buggies and truggies β off-road competition.
- Touring cars β high-speed circuit racing.
- Drift cars β controlled slides, often indoors.
- Rally cars β mixed-surface driving.
- Rock crawlers β technical obstacle courses.
- Other: monster trucks, tanks and RC construction vehicles.
Air:
- Helicopters β hovering, precision and 3D aerobatics.
- Planes β aerobatics, racing, gliding and scale flying.
- Drones / multirotors β freestyle, racing, photography and FPV.
- Jets β high-speed flying and advanced turbine models.
- Other: airships and ornithopters.
Water:
- Powerboats β speed runs and racing.
- Sailboats β wind strategy and tactical racing.
- Submarines β underwater navigation and buoyancy control.
- Scale boats and ships β realistic models.
- Other: hovercraft and specialized amphibious vehicles.

HPI Nitro RS4 3 Drift β Silvia S15 body, blue-and-gold details in one rotation
Blue, gold and classic HPI nitro. π΅β¨
A quick full rotation around the HPI Nitro RS4 3 Drift wearing a Nissan Silvia S15 body. Gold HPI graphics, black multi-spoke wheels and a tall rear wing bring the style; shaft-driven 4WD brings the hardware beneath the shell.
Which detail stands out to you?

Multirotor Developing affordable FHSS & ELRS RC transmitters in India. Would you buy these at βΉ4,200 and βΉ6,000?
Hey everyone!
I'm an embedded software engineer developing two affordable RC transmitters under my startup, RadioWing. Would love some honest feedback from the RC, FPV and robotics communities!
1. FHSS Transmitter β βΉ4,200 (~$47)
8 channels with receiver included
2.4 GHz frequency hopping
Up to 2 km target range
Colour display
Hall-effect gimbals
PPM, iBUS and PWM receiver outputs
Battery and link telemetry
Easy configuration
2. ELRS Transmitter β βΉ6,000 (~$68)
10 channels, 2.4 GHz ExpressLRS
500 mW RF output
Up to 10 km target range
Colour display and Hall-effect gimbals
Bluetooth connectivity
USB simulator support (planned)
Compatible with standard ELRS receivers
Both are designed for drones, RC planes, boats, cars and robotics applications.
A few questions:
Do these features justify the pricing?
What important features are missing?
Would you consider buying from a new Indian brand?
What would you improve or change?
Still in development, so your feedback could genuinely influence the final product. Not selling anything here, just looking for honest opinions!
Thanks!

Question for you nerds
Whats a good fpv kit for an 1/10 scale rc car? (Doesn't need vr or anything just to hook up to my phone or something as the vr ones are more expensive)
