Dry fire auto wind
My Pentax 645n has suddenly decided it wants to auto wind the empty film spool when I try and dry fire the camera. I changed the batteries and still the same thing. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Pentax ME Super issue: Infinite film advance / shutter fires inconsistently
Hi everyone,
I recently inherited a Pentax ME Super that has been sitting unused in storage for many years. I'm trying to get it back into working condition, but I’ve run into a mechanical issue with the film advance and shutter release.
Symptoms:
Infinite advance: I can push the film advance lever repeatedly without it resetting or arming the shutter mechanism properly.
Inconsistent shutter: The shutter release button only triggers the shutter once every 10–15 attempts.
Lever workaround: If I pull and hold the advance lever all the way out/extended for a bit, the shutter seems to trigger much more consistently.
It feels like a sticky latch, lever linkage, or mirror box mechanism due to old, dried-up grease or oil inside.
Has anyone encountered this specific issue with the ME Super?
Which specific levers, gears, or pivot points underneath the bottom plate (or behind the mirror/front plate) should I inspect?
What is the best method to clean off the old dried lubricant, and where (and with what) should I apply fresh lubrication (e.g., isopropyl alcohol for cleaning, light machine oil vs. synthetic grease)?
Any advice, diagrams, or experience with fixing this specific symptom would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone tried Sigma lens on Pentax MZ series film camera?
For example, sigma 28 1.8 DG Macro, Sigma 30 1.4 art (I know it's for APSC).
Does it work?
(Since aperture ring is not available on the lens I will have to use shutter-priority mode even if it works. No problem for me.)

Pentax K100D w/ kit 18-55mm
Ran these through Snapseed, but still wanted to share. Is that allowed? Love how a CCD sensor and a little editing can give a legit 35mm film vibe.

What do think of the pentax optio RX10? It has one hell of a zoom on it. I stopped using it after I got a cellphone. I using it now. I keep it in my back pocket.

Flash for my film and digital cameras
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I've been really confused on how to check these things.
I was looking to get a flash for my Canon m50 that had stroboscopic flash capabilities, and found a Canon speedlite el-100 second hand for €80.
I also have a Pentax MX that I need a flash for, could I use this flash on both of my cameras? Or is there another flash anyone could reccomend me for less that €100?
Thank you!
