got off a lemon (2015 Chrysler 200 2.4l) for this (2026 Carbon Edition AWD). No turbo but still feels so quick compared to what I’m used to

I bought Lola used back in April of this year. She was a huge upgrade from my 2006 economy Kia. I was THRILLED with her. I was so excited to drive her for the as long as I could.

Unfortunately, a pickup truck had other ideas. I have a new appreciation for the crumple design of this car. It was amazing how well protected the passenger areas were.
I plan on replacing her with another Mazda3 hatchback again.

Just wanted to share with you how excited I am about my new car. It was a bit of a hassle as I had to travel to a different city and then come back in the very same day... it was as exhausting as rewarding 😁

This Mazda 3, although the immatriculation is dated in 2017, this model seems to be from 2016, right before the restyling. I thought I was going to miss a lot of functionalities but so far everything is to my liking, I indeed discovered feature I wasn't expecting (Android Auto, Lane Assis...)

This one has AT transmission, gas, not diesel, and the version is the 2.0 LUXURY and has 110000km (ballpark) When I got there, I started to drool 🤤 the car itself felt more impressive than in the pictures, when someone is with me in the car or I drive around, people seem to like it.

The car only has minor scratches than I'll be taking care of soon. As you may know, the market in Europe isn't very competitive, prices skyrocketed and the only accesible cars are hideous BYD like the Dolphin, and this checked all the boxes. I didn't want to spend more than 15k€, I wish I could've purchased a newer version, yet... I think I'm in love 😁

I have these showing from the bottom back of the driver’s and passenger’s seats. I try to fold them back inside but they always end up coming out again. What are these and how should I hide them?

This is a 2023 Mazda3 GS sedan in Canada btw.

I am selling my 2024 CX-5 and purchasing a mazda3.

Inventory in my area is fairly limited so my options are a Mazda3 sport sedan (red or ceramic) or a Mazda3 Preferred hatchback (Dark Blue).

$1,700 difference between the two.

The wife likes the heated seats and hatchback utility, but also likes the extra leg room in the sedan. No preferred Sedans available within 100 miles.

I am partial to the Hatchback but like the colors available on the sedan more.

Anyone buy a hatch/sedan and wish they got the other?

Picked up a 152k mile tired but awesome 2014 2.0 petrol last week, just busy refreshing and servicing everything, new fluids (engine, gearbox, coolant, brakes etc), spark plugs, filters and put new front discs and pads on it, next week is suspension bushings, drop links, top mounts and new shocks and then tyres.

Following that is the important bit, a light cut and polish and full valet.

It's old (like me), it's a bit battered and tired (also just like me), but it's all mine and it makes me happy.

For me it is the sunglasses holder on sun visor

Didn't turn out as i planned, but gawd, they look very nice.

I was going for gunmetal gray but a bit darker. But curiosity got the best of me ... mixed gray, black and a dashes of green and that's the color I got .... i was scared at first, but i love how they turned out.

I also noticed that they have a different tone when sunlight hits them vs night time.

I'm looking for advice on an intermittent starting issue with my 2019 Mazda 3 Skyactiv-X automatic.

I use the car for deliveries, so I frequently stop the engine for a few minutes before restarting it.

The symptoms:

• The car normally starts and drives perfectly.
• Once or twice a week, after several delivery stops, I press the Start button and the engine cranks briefly but doesn't start.
• The dashboard remains illuminated, and I notice the red battery warning light.
• If I wait around 5 seconds and try again, it usually starts normally.
• It happens regardless of fuel level.
• After the failed attempt, the Start/Stop button's indicator stays yellow when I try to switch the ignition off.
• There are no obvious issues while driving.

I've checked Mazda UK's website using my VIN, and it says there are no outstanding recalls.

Has anyone experienced the same issue with a Mazda 3, particularly the Skyactiv-X engine?

I'm wondering whether it could be:

• A weak battery or poor electrical connection
• A fuel-pressure or fuel-pump issue
• An engine-management or sensor problem
• Something related to the ignition/start-stop system

What are your thoughts?
I had the car for 3months only and the battery was being replaced in Dec 2025.

If you've had the same symptoms, please let me know what the actual cause was and how it was fixed.

She’s dirty, but at some point she got a little banged up. I assume it was a trailer hitch from one of the work trucks at my worksite based on the height. Could I find a touch up pen or would I be better off taking it in to a shop?

I have a 2016 Mazda 3 2.0 A/T and I started to notice an oil leak coming from near the transmission. I’m unsure if it’s the oil pan gasket or the rear main seal. I’ve tried to find a plate or anything to remove to see inside to inspect the seal but haven’t found anything. I even looked it up and was told there is no way of seeing inside.

Is that truly the case and if so how would I figure out if it is the rear main or simply just the pan gasket?

Looking at a 2008 2.3 base model with 149k miles for $5500. Two previous owners with maintenance history that looks pretty consistent as far as oil changes and tires. Really only looking for a grocery getter for the last two years of college. Is there anything I should be worried about reliability wise? I test drove it and liked it, nothing obviously wrong and will definitely take it for a PPI if I decide to buy. Basically would this be a bad way to spend my money for what I need? Thanks!

I got a 2016 3 2.0L i'm planning on getting a versa tune but I'm the description it says to keep the battery charging as you're tuning the car, anyone who has used the versa tune, can y'all let me know if it's really necessary to keep it charging and if so what did you guys use to keep the battery charged, thank you very much appreciated🙇

Hi all. I have a 2022 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus (Japan built and AWD). I tried to do some brake replacements over the weekend. My front brakes were simple enough. However I think I severely messed up with the rear brakes.

I tried to put the vehicle in service mode and stupidly tried to exit out of service mode while the caliper was not attached. The piston ended up overextending and I got hit with a parking brake malfunction. We tried all sorts of fixes but nothing worked regarding the piston/caliper. When I turn on the car, I’m stuck in maintenance mode and cannot exit out of it now. When I try to press/pull the parking brake button I get “Switch operation not accepted.” If I try to follow the steps to exit maintenance mode, I get hit with “Parking brake malfunction” again.

Anyone know what to do about this? I haven’t touched the other rear brakes at all yet and I’m worried if there has been any potential damage on that side. I am assuming I’d need to replace the rear caliper on this side which I’m already in the process of acquiring. Just wanted to know if I’d need to obtain parking actuators and a right side rear caliper as well. Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I would also like to note that I’m not actually sure if the car is stuck in maintenance mode. I base it on the fact that I see a yellow amber light when I turn the car on (which online indicates the car has been put in maintenance mode). I believe last I checked, the rear caliper on the other side that has not been touched yet has the piston pressing on the brake pads. When I put the car in Drive and lightly tap on the gas pedal, I get an indicator telling me that the “Parking brake is applied.”

My Mazda 3 need a new one, i asked prices at garages, one ask 250€, the other 200€... Now buying the baterry online will be 110€ and doing it myself is 0... but i have a 2020, with start/stop bottom and i read online that after changing the battery you have to set up the new one, with a special machine, to set up the car to "learn" the new battery.... There you lost me, is it possible to do it yourself and skipping this step? or a way to do it? I dont find anything online, in the youtube tutorials about it.
