Ask Lubbock Flock cameras
Has anyone tried requesting data from the local government regarding these departments use of flock cameras and if so how did that turn out?

Hello, r/Lubbock!
We wanted to take a moment to address some questions and concerns regarding how posts are reviewed and approved in our community.
First and foremost, requiring moderator approval for posts is NOT a new policy. This process has been in place for over five years.
Several years ago, r/Lubbock experienced a significant surge in spam, including fraudulent T-shirt advertisements, scam links, unsolicited sexually explicit images, suspicious promotional content, and posts containing misleading or potentially harmful links.
To combat these issues and protect our community, we implemented a system requiring every submission to be reviewed and approved by an active moderator before becoming publicly visible.
This policy applies to EVERYONE, regardless of the subject matter or the individual submitting the post.
Our moderators are volunteers. We have jobs, families, responsibilities, and lives outside of Reddit. While we make every effort to review submissions in a timely manner, we cannot guarantee immediate approval.
A post awaiting approval does not necessarily mean it has been rejected, censored, or singled out. It simply means a moderator has not yet reviewed and approved it.
Repeatedly submitting the same post will not speed up the approval process. We ask that you please be patient and allow our moderators time to review submissions.
We want to make something absolutely clear:
The r/Lubbock moderation team does not make moderation decisions based on a user's:
Our responsibility is to enforce the community rules fairly and consistently, regardless of whether we personally agree or disagree with someone's beliefs or opinions.
Please also understand that moderating political discussions under our No State or National Politics rule is not the same as discriminating against someone's political affiliation. The rule applies equally to everyone.
We recognize that no moderation system is perfect, and we're always open to constructive feedback.
If you believe your post was removed incorrectly, have concerns about a moderation decision, or have an idea for a better way to manage submissions while keeping spam and scams out of our community, our Modmail inbox is always open.
We welcome respectful discussions and suggestions that could help improve the community.
Our goal has always been to maintain a welcoming, informative, and safe community focused on Lubbock and the surrounding areas.
We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as our volunteer moderators work to keep r/Lubbock running smoothly.
Thank you for being part of the r/Lubbock community!
The r/Lubbock Moderation Team

Has anyone here had a wedding or attended one at Mack Dick Pavilion in Palo Duro Canyon? My daughter is getting married there in Dec this year (and we live 8 hours away and haven't toured venu), and I’d love to see real wedding photos of the inside, kitchen/corridor area, porch at night, and different table/beverage setups. We already have the official floor plan and venue photos, so I’m mainly looking for firsthand experience with how people actually used the space. Thank you!

I found that shopping for the “best” electricity plan seems very tricky since Lubbock joined the deregulated energy market. I end up scrolling through lots of plans on Power To Choose, and half of them look cheap, however, some only hit the low rate if using a very specific amount of power.
So I built this: Texas Smart Power as a fun mini project so I can easily pick the right plan for myself. Gimmick plans like time of usage or bill credit have been filtered out for the peace of mind.
Site: https://texas-smart-power-app.vercel.app/
The plans are ranked based on the combination of
- Cheap price
- Stable rate across 500 1000 2000 kwh
- Flexibility (12 month term, low cancellation fee)
- % of renewable energy.
It pulls the data from Power To Choose daily.
Give it a try and hope it’s helpful!

The teenager on the left is about 50 seconds away from breaking into a SUV parked on the street in front of a house. He is wearing a glove on his left hand, so I bet he didn't leave any fingerprints anywhere. Faces not shown on Reddit to protect the guilty. LOL
(Title couldn't be corrected once the video was submitted on Reddit. Obviously the year is 2026 rather than 2016.)
I was accused of hitting someone’s car in the Lubbock HEB parking lot on Oct 15. The person came into the store and took my picture and told she would call the cops. There was a car that suddenly backed up when I was going behind them with my son in the cart. Luckily we did not make contact but the lady accused me of hitting her car. Is there somehow I can file a report and try to get a video recording from the parking lot to protect myself? I am also worried that she may claim a false insurance.

My wife and I will be married 39 years this month. We moved to Midland in 2024 for grandkids. We are looking for a one night trip to celebrate our anniversary. Neither of us are into drinking, don’t eat late (iykyk), and would like something to do within about a 2 hour radius of Midland for one night. Place to stay, place to get snacks/light meal, something fun…
We both enjoy the outdoors, but are not the most athletic. Any nice water areas? Ya, I know, West Texas and water don’t go together much, but thought I’d ask.
We were thinking of a one night stay in Big Spring at the historic Settles hotel, anything similar in Lubbock that might have history, some charm, and lend to an anniversary celebration?
Thanks for any tips on helping us to celebrate our 39th anniversary!

Any suggestions for in-person guitar lessons other than Brandon Guitar Studio and Don’t Fret? Great folks at both, just trying to find out if there are others out there I haven’t heard about.

I was in Lubbock last week and had the opportunity to visit Kelle B Jammin’ Bakery and it’s amazing! We had a take and bake chicken pot pie, sourdough bread, and some pastries. I think they are only open Thursday-Saturday so check the hours before you drive over. I’d get her food all the time if I was closer!

I’m relocating to Lubbock for work for the foreseeable future (25 Asian M) from DC. The city will be the opposite of what i’m used to.. I see a lot of positives though: low COL, little to no traffic, and stores I frequent.
A lot of commenters here wish to leave, but I wonder if there are any other minorities who’ve relocated find the place after some time. Is it worth living there? And how has it treated you?
All responses welcome

Our floodlight camera was stolen off of our residence in the Upland West neighborhood and it happened to catch this clip of its kidnapers. Any information would be much appreciated.

Looking for a nice or unique lunch place to go on a weekday when we actually have the day off! Any recommendations besides the basics? Cheap or fancy, don’t care. Only looking for a good dining experience.

Hi Lubbock! Any thrift store recommendations to find a formal/elegant long wedding dress? I know the mall is probably my best shot as a first option but I don’t want to spend too much on a dress I’ll probably wear twice at most 🥲

Does anyone get calls from the Cash Store in Lubbock? I don’t answer but for some reason when they leave a voicemail they know my name. The voicemail just says they have an offer for me. Should I be concerned that someone is taking a loan out in my name? Or are they just advertising?
