all these naturalistic decorations and enrichment materials in his enclosure and his favorite things are this tiny novelty beer stein he stares into, and a doll shoe he likes to bury in the dirt

Gecko Pics/Vids Um excuse me, where is my food? I have been waiting for 4 seconds!!

It was feeding time for Raj, and when I brought the container full of Dubias, I look over to see her looking at me waiting for the food. I have been trying to use food to get comfortable with me and my hand so I can do choice based handling with her. So far, I've noticed she's curious and willing to approach me but still unsure of my hand

Our new gecko finally searched out a new hide after putting back in the tank tonight and went right to sleep. Wife and I still haven’t come up with a name. Any ideas? It’s a Mac Snow :)

Gecko Pics/Vids Salamander Time ends at 19:30

Dude’s on a set routine already: Salamander Nap Time from 4am to 7:30pm, Hunter Gecko Time the rest of the night.

Jokes aside, I’m definitely more confident leaving him for the two weeks I’ll be away. I noticed roaches don’t last very long in there with him, especially when he perches above the humid hide’s main entrance like that, and the cleanup crew mobs and kills roaches that make it past a few days (that, or Charlotte catches the smaller ones that Cyrus ignores).

At this point, I mostly just need his sitter to feed the fish and keep the pool reservoir topped up. I used a 5-gallon bucket as his rain reservoir, so that just needs topping up maybe once a month, and now that it’s getting colder I’ve turned on the outlet for the ceramic heaters (which still haven’t turned themselves on, since it hasn’t gotten cold enough to trigger the sensors yet). I’ll be halfway across the world, but I can still watch the little guy on the cameras so it’s all good

Enclosure Help UVB light noise/brightness irritating?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have a UVB light (Reptisun T5 5.0) which is positioned 17 inches above my guy's tank floor and originally when I got it it made a loud whining noise. I stopped using it for a while because it was noisy and I didn't want that to irritate my boy, but I adjusted it today. However, there is a bit of a low noise, the kind that neon signs tend to make. Is that hurting his ears? Also, whenever I turn it on he leaves for his hide. Is there a chance it's too bright? He's not albino but he is yellow. I don't want to be torturing him with this light 😩

Habitat, Setup, and Husbandry Better Care for my leopard gecko

Post image
4 Upvotes

I got a leopard gecko 2 years ago and they are in a decent enclosure and are fed decently, but I want to improve his life and move him to my room. They are currently slightly overweight and weigh 65 grams. So, I feed him once a week. They are currently in a 20 gallon with reptisand and reptisoil substrate and have 2 proper hides(I have humid hide, but no cool hide). They have a heat lamp as the main source of heat and a under the tank heater to stop the temperature from dropping too low at night. He is fed mostly crickets dusted with calcium and multivitamin now (He used to also eat mealworms. Should I keep giving them to him?) He has no uvb. He has his hot spot at 92 degrees and the cool spot is usually above 70 degrees during the day. Finally, he is 2 years old or at least he has been with me for 2 years. I am going to get him a new tank that is 40 gallons soon and get that last hide some more clutter and uvb. Then I am going to move him to my room which is pretty hot, so I also need some advice on how to keep his tank cool when it gets hot. Thank you.

Help My Leopard Gecko Won't Eat

Thumbnail

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster. I got my leopard gecko Syrax (year old) 2 weeks ago. She was in shed when I brought her home (which I didn't know, or I would've waited another week) We had to travel about an hour to get her, and then drive home. I can imagine that caused some stress on her, along with the new home. It's been about a week since she finished shedding, and yes, she ate her shed, and she won't eat ANYTHING. I've tried hand feeding, tong feeding, I've tried leaving it in the bowl and letting her choose when to eat, and nothing has worked. Everyone I talk to tells me she's just stressed and adjusting, but two weeks without food? I can't help but be worried. Any tips to get her to eat, or set up suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys! This is Ziggy, i’ve had him around 3 months now, I was told he is a juvenile when I got him. Since he’s my first leopard gecko I just wanna make sure that so far I am doing everything right and that he looks healthy. Also wondering how long it takes for him to reach full size. He is a 40 gallon btw. (Also not even sure if he is a he😂😂😂😂)

General Discussion I don’t think I can keep my geckos

I have 2 leopard geckos, with large tanks and everything they need, I just don’t think I can handle them financially because I’m trying to move out of my parents house and I’ve been really having a hard time with depression because my friend died.

Their names are penguin(pp) and sookie, they each have individual tanks and they are each about 35-40 gal. I think I will have to rehome them but I just want to ensure they will be well taken care of. is there anyone in the Clarksville- Nashville TN area that would take them or some kind of special place that would? I’ve had them since they were babies and they are about 2 years old

Help - Weight Looking for reassurance

Thumbnail

she has finally gotten up to 47g I’m thinking of getting her up to 50g to be on the safer side of her weight just in case she ever decides to go without eating.

since I got her recently I just started feeding her every other day this week, i’m thinking in November ill start feeding her 2-3 times a week.

I have no clue on the best thing to do I don’t want to accidentally starve her 😭 but i DONT want her to get overweight nothing I research is giving me a straight answer

Her current length is 7.5-8inch and by next week she’ll probably be up to 50g.

Gecko Pics/Vids Journey to try and make my little guy's tank better

I'm a newish gecko owner(got my gecko, Paarthunax, from my brother) and have been trying to spruce up his tank for lack of a better term. It was dismal at the start and recently ive been able to get some decorations in for him. If anyone has any ideas for improvements I could make, I would be very open! (Last post is current tank)
