I’m leaving my house for a day, and I don’t have enough time to get a new ladder to turn it off, will it be okay for it to just let it beep?

Help - Weight Leopard gecko won’t gain weight

I have a female leo, i’ve had her for like 8 months (i think) and no matter what i try i can’t seem to get her to gain weight. is she just small? to me she looks thin, like her tail should be thicker but maybe that’s just how she looks? i feed her every 2 days and i even tried bumping it to every day for a while. i’ve tried feeding more fatty insects like mealworms more frequently.

i’m obviously okay if she’s just small, but i need insight on whether she looks healthy or not!

i’m providing pics of her and also her enclosure! it’s 40gal, ambient temp around 85 on the warm side and humidity around 40%. she does have a uvb bar!

she has finally gotten up to 47g I’m thinking of getting her up to 50g to be on the safer side of her weight just in case she ever decides to go without eating.

since I got her recently I just started feeding her every other day this week, i’m thinking in November ill start feeding her 2-3 times a week.

I have no clue on the best thing to do I don’t want to accidentally starve her 😭 but i DONT want her to get overweight nothing I research is giving me a straight answer

Her current length is 7.5-8inch and by next week she’ll probably be up to 50g.

Help My Leopard Gecko Won't Eat

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster. I got my leopard gecko Syrax (year old) 2 weeks ago. She was in shed when I brought her home (which I didn't know, or I would've waited another week) We had to travel about an hour to get her, and then drive home. I can imagine that caused some stress on her, along with the new home. It's been about a week since she finished shedding, and yes, she ate her shed, and she won't eat ANYTHING. I've tried hand feeding, tong feeding, I've tried leaving it in the bowl and letting her choose when to eat, and nothing has worked. Everyone I talk to tells me she's just stressed and adjusting, but two weeks without food? I can't help but be worried. Any tips to get her to eat, or set up suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Gecko Pics/Vids Salamander Time ends at 19:30

Dude’s on a set routine already: Salamander Nap Time from 4am to 7:30pm, Hunter Gecko Time the rest of the night.

Jokes aside, I’m definitely more confident leaving him for the two weeks I’ll be away. I noticed roaches don’t last very long in there with him, especially when he perches above the humid hide’s main entrance like that, and the cleanup crew mobs and kills roaches that make it past a few days (that, or Charlotte catches the smaller ones that Cyrus ignores).

At this point, I mostly just need his sitter to feed the fish and keep the pool reservoir topped up. I used a 5-gallon bucket as his rain reservoir, so that just needs topping up maybe once a month, and now that it’s getting colder I’ve turned on the outlet for the ceramic heaters (which still haven’t turned themselves on, since it hasn’t gotten cold enough to trigger the sensors yet). I’ll be halfway across the world, but I can still watch the little guy on the cameras so it’s all good

General Discussion I don’t think I can keep my geckos

I have 2 leopard geckos, with large tanks and everything they need, I just don’t think I can handle them financially because I’m trying to move out of my parents house and I’ve been really having a hard time with depression because my friend died.

Their names are penguin(pp) and sookie, they each have individual tanks and they are each about 35-40 gal. I think I will have to rehome them but I just want to ensure they will be well taken care of. is there anyone in the Clarksville- Nashville TN area that would take them or some kind of special place that would? I’ve had them since they were babies and they are about 2 years old

hello! i work at a children’s museum that has a few reptiles that i take care of, with a leopard gecko being one of them. however my boss is looking to replace him with a new critter who is more social with the kids and not asleep most of the day, so i offered to take home this little guy. this is his current set up and i am looking into getting him a bigger inclosure and and making it fully bio active. any suggestions on what gecko safe plants and other things i should add to it? (also ik the dials aren’t reliable and i have a digital thermometer and humidity gauge ready to go at home!!)

Since he’s my first leopard gecko I just wanna make sure that so far I am doing everything right and that he looks healthy. Also wondering how long it takes for him to reach full size. He is a 40 gallon btw. (Also not even sure if he is a he😂😂😂😂)

I'm a newish gecko owner(got my gecko, Paarthunax, from my brother) and have been trying to spruce up his tank for lack of a better term. It was dismal at the start and recently ive been able to get some decorations in for him. If anyone has any ideas for improvements I could make, I would be very open! (Last post is current tank)

Help How to prevent my gecko from hunting down all my isopods??

I have a bioactive setup for my leopard gecko. His name is churro and I estimate him/her to be around 7 months old. I added about 2 dozen isopods (powder orange and giant canyon) into the closure and gave them a large piece of wood to hide under with lots of leaves, bark and other materials on top. No matter how secure I try to make it, my gecko always digs and pushes stuff out of the way to hunt these poor isopods. After I found him under this piece of wood again. I moved everything around to try and find any live isopods and I only found tiny babies. I think he’s eaten all the adults.

Is there any other way to try and protect these little guys? Churro is just an absolute menace and is so food obsessed no matter how much I feed him. I had to slow down his feeding as he got a little older because he started to get a little chunky. So I’m sure that’s why he’s so desperate to get to these isopods. But I make sure he’s getting plenty of good meals so he’s definitely not starving.

How do y’all keep your bioactive setups from being depleted?
