Discussion The $1 Pledge - Why not just do it?
Just hear me out on this one: why don't all of us who are able back each other's Kickstarter campaigns with $1 pledges? I mean seriously, wouldn't it be better to have like 50 backers for $1 each rather than zero backers for $50???
Obviously if you are really hard up for money and need to choose between feeding your children or feeding some stranger's Kickstarter, you should definitely choose your children. But for the rest of us, why not just make that $1 pledge? Seems like an easy win for everyone involved. You feel good because you back some tiny underperforming Kickstarter campaign, that campaign feels great because someone cared enough to click the pledge button. It's a win-win. You don't even have to believe in the campaign or want the product that is being presented, it's more of a hey bro, I see you and I appreciate your struggle sort of thing.
And yeah before someone asks, I do make the effort to back all the campaigns I see that aren't 10,000% funded or backed by some multi-billion dollar multinational corporation.
So yeah, what do you all think about the $1 pledge?
