Bought May of 2025 and this thing has treated me flawlessly! Here in the near future it’s getting an 02Q swap, and probably the RCD-330 radio. It’ll get tint eventually too, kinda over the fishbowl look.

Buying 2026 Jetta Sport Pricing

• Upvotes

I'm looking at purchasing a 2026 Jetta Sport. Dealer is offering $23,620 plus a $350 doc fee and tax title and license. I live in Minnesota, is this a decent price or could I likely do better?

I’m a part of the VW family! I bought used 2016 Jetta TSI with 65K on it. I previously had a CRV, it lasted me 245K. I’m really excited to have this as my new daily driver. Any tips or advice before it would be great if you have any!

Mk7 (2019+) New ECS big bore inlet MQB 1.4

Got the ECS big bore turbo inlet pipe on the way for my 2019 Jetta S 1.4T. Currently running the ECS Luft-Technik intake, a muffler delete, and a MagnaFlow glass pack in place of the factory resonator. Curious to see how the inlet changes the turbo sound and overall exhaust note with my current setup.

Mk6 (2011-2018) Is this too much wastegate play?

2017 VW Jetta with the 1.4t, 150k miles.
Checked the play of the wastegate right where the actuator rod connects to it, and I feel some considerable play to it. Most of the play is in and out on the axis of the actuator (like the actuator itself has some slight movement), assuming that’s mostly ok. But there is a little bit of play in and out going into the turbo (the axis that id assume the wastegate is on. Is that okay?

No check engine or EPC lights or codes at all, still builds boost and has good power.

Video of the play as best as I could get. Feeling right where the actuator rod connects to the wastegate

Mk6 (2011-2018) Canadian Tire site said FRAM PH3614 fits my 2016 Jetta 1.4 TSI, but Google says it’s wrong?

I’m so confused right now.
I just bought a FRAM PH3614 Extra Guard oil filter from the Canadian Tire website for my 2016 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4L TSI.
Before checking out, I double-checked their online garage/vehicle fitment tool, and the site explicitly flagged it as a guaranteed fit for my car.

But I just looked it up online (google) afterwards to double-check, and a bunch of sources are saying the PH3614 is completely wrong.

Mk6 (2011-2018) What is this noise ?

Hi there ,
I record a video of the noise that my steering wheel makes when I'm
Parking and holding the break . It makes a lot of crunchy noises . Also , when i drive slow over a safety bump on the road , makes spongy noises , like a spring, similar to the noise "Boing"... I check my springs and they seem to look fine. Could this by the Bushings ? Maybe the struts?
I also noticed , car is wearing out much more the interior side of the front wheels . I hope someone with experience on Jettas feels very familiar with this and know what it is . The car is from 2012 , A Jetta 2.5 SEL.
Thank you so much in advance .

Mk7 (2019+) 2011 Jetta inner tail lights on the trunk are all out

So my son's car is due for inspection. I tried replacing the bulb, but it didn't do anything. There are two bulbs here, are they both driving lights? I know the third is an option for the European market as a rear fog.

Does anyone know if there is a fuse that controls just the right side? All other lights are working so I'm guessing this is something else.

I did replace the trunk lid a couple of years back but my splices were all good and it's very unlikely things got disturbed within the back panels. All lights ran fine.

Can the board the bulbs twist into fail? I could try getting one from the junkyard.

Thanks.

Mk6 (2011-2018) Replacement engine

Replaced the engine in my 2011 Jetta 2.5 liter SEL. Picked it up 3 days ago. Check engine light and EPC light are both on again. Car ran great the first 2 days. As soon as husband put it on the freeway the issue popped up. So far it hasn't gone into limp mode. Thoughts?

Mk7 (2019+) 2020 Jetta. Replacing battery

When I had to replace the battery for the Atlas, VW said I needed to do it at their shop as they have to recalibrate the electronics!
Whatever this means.

Is this necessary?

Can I just get a new battery from a car part shop and be change it myself or the electronics requires indeed some calibration?

Thanks

Mk6 (2011-2018) What’s this noise?

Looking at picking up this 2014 1.8 Jetta and the owner said it runs great no issues no lights but makes a rattle noise at idle. 157,000 miles owner has only had it for 1000 miles and isn’t positive if the previous owner did the timing chain.

Mk7 (2019+) Fog Light Help

2021 Jetta SEL. I want to add factory looking fog lights. Does the existing lighting wire harness already have the plugs for the new fog lights? Is it as simple as plugging them in and they work? Do I need to change the headlight switch to one that has a fog light position? Do I then need to change code or just connect the wires? Or should I just bypass it and run them from the battery directly with a relay to turn them on with the low beams. Please help.

Mk7 (2019+) Streak on Windshield

I have a 2020 Jetta SEL Premium. I am having issues and have been having issues ever since I got the car. My wipers have been replaced, the windshield was even replaced at one point, and I just got the wiper adjusted when brought it in for maintenance. But it’s just as bad if not worse.
Are any others experiencing this and have figured out how to fix issue?
My right wiper when it goes across, just leaves a streak when it rains or even just wiping it with the stuff… winter is coming soon, and this is just not good because it’s right in my viewing range.
Or maybe I just haven’t gotten the right wipers. I don’t know… 🤷🏼‍♂️ this is extremely frustrating and gives me headache…

Mk7 (2019+) Why do speakers sound low quality? (2024 Jetta SE)

Howdy, I purchased a used Jetta and like it. It’s a solid car with a smooth suspension and acceleration. However, the speakers sound of poor quality. This is strange because I’ve driven a VW before. The speakers aren’t blown because I don’t hear any rattling, just 240p YouTube audio. Please help, I really want to blast my ghetto booty music down I-5. Thank you.

Mk7 (2019+) CarPlay in 2019 Jetta

The CarPlay in my 2019 Jetta stopped working. I’ve tried different iPhones, different cables including factory apple cables. I have reset the radio and tried again, nothing. It reads it as an accessory but won’t connect as CarPlay anymore. I called my local VW dealer to see if there had been a software update and they said no. They want $189 to diagnose the issue. Anyone else have this issue? Or advice on what I can try and do?

Mk6 (2011-2018) I did my oil change today, and realized I may have used the wrong oil

I've got an MK6 1.8T. I went to AutoZone and got their house brand STP 5w-40 Euro, because it comes with a free filter. I just glanced at the back label quickly and saw it had VW spec on there and grabbed it. Upon further inspection it's only rated for VW 505 00 not 502 00. Did I waste money and should I drain it, or just run it until next change?

Mk6 (2011-2018) Answers? Or solutions?

I have a 2012 Vw Jetta sportswagen 2.0 tdi equipped with the 6 speed manual, it has roughly 164000 miles, it’s been a while since I checked, I got it from my brother who got it from marketplace, now it had been sitting for 6 months when I got it running and driving and drove it for a month or so and then got my truck back and it sat some more on my driveway for 2 months before I decided to switch back to it, I had gotten it signed back over to me and insurance under my name and I was driving it uphill and I was at about 3600 rpm and the cars engine shut off, I had the radio all the way up and everything went off, I thought maybe I bumped the key and I tried to start it with the trans and it did nothing, I pulled over and tried to start it but all it did was spin over, the starter died and I then got towed home, I checked it for metal contamination in the little tray on front of the engine not the filter and I saw no glitter, I hooked it up to a obdii scanner not made for Vw but threw no code, anybody have any idea what could have caused it to shut off and then just turn over but not start

I’ve worked on Toyotas and Pontiac and it’s been simple to find replacement parts. My radiator on my 06 Jetta has a terrible leak and I’m struggling to find a replacement that looks like the part I just took out. I might be a silly goose and not looking correctly but anyone able to help out?
