Discussion Gay Visual Novels Are SO Popular

Am I crazy? The market for these games can't be that big right? I guess the fans just have a lot of time to consume visual novel games?

I might have to get in on this. I want my game on the front page hahaha.

Is itch known for being an LGBT community? Is there some mega discord / content creator I'm not aware of boosting these games?

Sale I made ToyStudio, a low-poly 3D modeler for people who don't want to learn Blender (50% off until December)

Hi! I've been building ToyStudio for a while and it's finally on itch.

It's a small 3D modeler made for game assets. You shape models like clay, one click gives you trees, rocks, houses, crates and road tiles, and there are building blocks that snap together like a toy kit. When you're done you export a GLB for Godot or Unity, with collision if you want it.

A few things I'm proud of:

- Rigging by placing a few dots on your model, then walk, idle or tail-wag loops with a bouncy feel

- Turntable GIFs and 8-direction sprites in one click, for itch pages or 2D games

- A free CC0 catalog inside the app, and anyone can share their own models (a person reviews every upload)

You can try every tool free in the browser before buying: https://deerrockstudios.com/apps/toystudio/lite/

The full app is $12, 50% off until December: https://drrstudios.itch.io/toystudio

It's in beta and I update it every week, so feedback is gold. What would you want it to do next?

Free Need some playtesters for a text RPG I've been working on (d20 rolls + LLM Game Master)

Thumbnail

Hey,

I have a text RPG on itch called Echo of Facets, and I’m looking for playtesters to help me test the current build and gather feedback.

It’s a text-based game where you type actions in free text, and an LLM acts as the Game Master. It handles narrative and scene responses, but everything is tied to RPG stats, survival mechanics, and animated d20 rolls.

What I’m trying to test right now:

How well the GM prompt holds up when players try creative or unusual choices

Game balance around d20 checks and survival mechanics (hunger, fatigue, injuries)

Any bugs, narrative repetition, or weird AI behavior

Quick technical note: It runs locally on Windows as a browser-window app, so your data stays on your machine. You can plug in your own API key or use the free DeepSeek setup option. Supports EN and RU.

If you enjoy interactive fiction, tabletop mechanics, or AI-driven games, I’d really appreciate any feedback!

Link: https://abyssal-arkana.itch.io/echo-of-facets

Let me know what you think or if you run into any issues. Thanks!

Demo My strategy game uses spell cards as commands, not just flat damage: Focus Fire, Flank, Overdrive & Retreat. Then watch your heroes carry them out!

NEW demo (prologue, 2 levels, & tutorial: over 2hrs of gameplay) live on itch.io: https://rikerriker.itch.io/elemental-lands

"Elemental Lands" is kinda a "4X-lite" strategy game for the conquest map, mixed with turn-based card battles.

Honestly most card games I played had me stacking "deal 6 damage" cards and after a while it felt like math homework... So in mine a lot of spell cards are COMMANDS to your hero party. "Focus Fire" sends every ally thats off cooldown at one enemy. "Flank" sends your front line at the enemy back line opposite them. "Overdrive" clears a hero's cooldown so they can go again (it costs them 10 HP), and "Retreat" ends the fight right there with your survivors keeping there HP.

"Focus Fire" is a spell card, lining up a target in the first screenshot.

It makes each turn about reading the battlefield, not just adding up numbers.

The game is two halves:

  • build Stronghold bases across 3 regions of a conquest map
  • only 4 build slots per base, so every building is a strategic choice
  • turn-based card battles with tactical objectives to capture
  • enemy factions keep expanding unless you push back

The base supports your party too, like healing heroes at the Camp. Heroes still down when the fight ends are GONE for the campaign, so knowing when to play "Retreat" can save your whole campaign.

Free Unit 112: a noir storage-auction game in comic panels. Free in the browser.

https://reddit.com/link/1xafidj/video/j0rbzqtd2jwh1/player

Play it here, free, no download: https://mdawg74.itch.io/unit-112

You bid on abandoned storage units from the doorway. Three looks with a flashlight, then you bid against three regulars who each read a door their own way. Whatever you win goes in the back room of your late father's pawn shop. Price it, pawn it, sell it, or give it back to the family. Rent is $750 a month and doesn't care how your week went.

The regulars' rule is 20 to 50 cents on the dollar. Peg will tell you when you break it.

Under it is a story about why your father lost unit 112 twenty-four years ago. Several endings. Plays on a phone too.

Solo project, mine. The art is AI-generated and most of the code and writing was done with AI. It's my entry in the Game Gauntlet SIM Jam.

Free My first game: you teach a tiny AI to get out of a maze

Post image
0 Upvotes

It's an idle game. The AI starts out completely dumb and walks into walls, and you slowly make it smarter until it finds the exit by itself.

I made it because I wanted to understand how ChatGPT-like things work, and this turned out to be the most fun way to learn it. No AI knowledge needed, everything is explained as you go.

Free, plays in the browser

Would love to hear what you think 🙂

Chiikawa dance game

Hi guys !! My friend made a great game about Chiikawa and dancing ✨ ! Here is a small message from him :

I made a free Chiikawa rhythm game for the Game Boy Advance!
Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little project I've been working on called Dance with Chiikawa, a rhythm game inspired by our favorite little characters!
The goal is simple: dance along to the music, hit the notes with perfect timing, and keep your combo going. Don't let Chiikawa down!
The game features more than 40 tracks with non-copyrighted music, multiple difficulty levels that progressively use more GBA buttons, and it's playable directly in your browser for free!
I developed the game myself using devkitPro GBA, and the graphics were made by me and @Cowusapi (twitter and instagram), who deserves some love too!
You can play it here: https://enarkz.itch.io/dance-with-chiikawa
I'd really love to hear your thoughts and feedback! This is a passion project made for fellow Chiikawa fans, so I hope you'll enjoy playing it.

Free I built a game where you have 10 seconds to finish a sentence where AI evaluates

Hey Reddit!

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on -> 10-Second Challenge <- link.

The concept is super simple but pretty stressful in a fun way:

  1. You get a prompt/context and 10 seconds to finish the sentence.
  2. To get bonus points, you have to squeeze in 3 specific power words into your response before time runs out.
  3. An AI instantly evaluates your sentence, gives you a score from 0–10 based on Context Fit, Creativity, and Flow, and suggests a corrected version.

You can play Daily Challenges or go full Solo mode to test your quick thinking.

It’s fast-paced and forces you to think on your feet instead of overthinking grammar.

I’d love for you guys to try it out! What features should I add next? Drop your feedback (or your highest score) below!

Free I created A Peasant’s Life, a choice-driven visual novel adventure with survival elements, about an ordinary peasant trying to survive in the Middle Ages

Survive ten days as an ordinary peasant in the Middle Ages!

A Peasant’s Life is an illustrated medieval survival visual novel where a day’s work can leave you richer, wounded, cheated—or dead.

You are an ordinary peasant with a few coins, limited food, and ten days ahead of you. Find work, listen carefully, and decide whom to trust. A generous offer may hide a trap. A useful piece of gossip may save your life. And the money you lose today might have paid for tomorrow’s supper.

Every day can end differently

Explore ten locations with branching encounters, from a noisy tavern and crowded marketplace to a monastery, a forest, and the town prison.

Take on optional encounters before your main task. Speak to strangers, uncover useful information, and choose how much you are willing to risk. Earlier decisions can change the opportunities—and dangers—you face later in the day.

You might return home with wages and provisions. You might stumble back bruised and penniless. Either way, tomorrow begins with what you have left.

Put your choices into practice

Play cards, shoot a bow, gather mushrooms, stitch wounds, prepare remedies, build stonework, and examine swords. Interactive mini-games bring the peasant’s daily struggles into your hands, while conversations can give you the knowledge to approach them wisely.

What awaits you

  • A complete ten-day campaign across ten distinct locations.
  • Branching encounters and dozens of local outcomes, shaped by your choices, discoveries, and performance.
  • Connected survival resources: manage health, food, and money across your journey.
  • Optional encounters that can offer help, rewards, or trouble.
  • Four difficulty levels, including a one-life challenge without saving.
  • Detailed medieval illustrations and an atmospheric soundtrack.

Help bring A Peasant’s Life to Steam

I’d love to bring A Peasant’s Life to Steam. I’m raising $100 for Steam’s one-time Steam Direct fee. If you’d like to support the game, any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Support is completely optional, and you can already play the game here on itch.io.

NSFW Gleb 1444 game

I was scrolling through itch Io when one game caught my eye. A game named Gleb 1444. I thought it was just a mockery joke game about the 1444 incident "Gleb Korablev" but turns out it was a game where you control Gleb Korablev and try to get 40 happy pills before the timer runs out. I tested what happens if the timer ran out and I can say that what I saw was shocking. I saw an image of a DEAD Gleb Korablev straight taken from gore websites. I tried winning and succeeded. All colors started flashing rainbow indicating "overdose" and there was a text saying "GLEB DIDNT COMMIT" definitely one of the most shocking, worst, disturbing games I've ever played. Even worse than Hong Kong 97 to be honest.

Game Field Notes: a free cozy demo about photographing wildlife and building a little home

Just put my first game up on itch! Field Notes is a cozy, painterly game: sail around misty islands, photograph the wildlife, and watch each photo become a pencil sketch in your field journal.

There's a big building mode too, with 130+ pieces: walls, furniture, a kitchen, a roll-top bath, lamps that come on at dusk, gardens, bird feeders.

Free demo, Windows and Linux: https://shoggi21.itch.io/field-notes

Feedback in the itch comments would really help me.

I've added 8 new characters to the free collection to celebrate the season and help whoever is working on this theme and wants to have this cozy vibe.

What do you think of them?

They can be easily used on RMMV, RMMZ, RMXP but also can be used in GODOT, UNITY and almost every other engine!
