iOS Earth Collector - made an idle game where you collect the whole world, city by city (iOS, free)

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

hey all, a friend and I just put out our first game, Earth Collector.

the idea is you collect the world. you start in one real city, send a little team of travellers to its landmarks, and once you've visited them all the city is yours. then you ride a bus, train or plane to the next region, fill up countries and get passport stamps along the way.

the maps are real (built from OpenStreetMap) and covered in pixel fog that clears as you walk. theres chests and items hidden under it, and your scout pet keeps painting while you're away so theres always progress when you come back.

theres 2,500+ real cities in almost every country, so its pretty big.

free, no ads. theres a premium currency but you earn it in game too (regions, passport stamps, daily bonus).

iOS only for now sorry android folks 😅

its brand new so honest feedback very welcome, esp on the first 10 min and pacing. discord: https://discord.gg/8KaA6Tr5hX

AI disclosure: the code and some in-game text were written with help from AI coding tools (Claude), and this post was drafted with AI help too. art: made by us in Figma, with help from AI tools. the maps are real OpenStreetMap data.

Meta I have just beaten Black Hole Fishing without ever learning about Quantum Sharks

• Upvotes

Man I was really enjoying this game, relaxing with the fishes and focusing on quick prestiges and breeding Playsaurus for mass. 25 hours in I beat the game. Then I learn about the LHC and apparently there are sharks there?

I feel like I got robbed of half the game.

Did anyone experience the same?

Discussion Mechanics/ twists you would like to see on an incremental game?

• Upvotes

Just as it says on the title: as time goes by, some mechanics become staples of the genre. What are some innovative changes to the usual incremental game formula that you think would help make things fresh and interesting?

Discussion What are some of your favorite progression mechanics?

I'm currently working on an incremental game, but I'm unsure what kind of progression system would best fit it, or what kind of progression systems are even enjoyed.

There are so many out there, from random upgrades (like Bills Must Be Paid's Card system & ShaAAATUP), to the classic skill tree used in tons of games, to a bunch more I probably haven't heard of.

I'm wondering which one was the most enjoyed, and that's what brought me here. And so I was curious: what is your favorite type of progression system?

Discussion What draws you to (or turns you away from) semi-idle games like Lootun?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get the community's thoughts on semi-idle games—specifically titles like Lootun.

If you enjoy these types of games, what keeps you hooked? On the flip side, if you usually skip them, what puts you off?

For instance:

  • The Pros: Skipping tedious micro-managed combat while still getting deep, satisfying systems for gear optimization, inventory management, and party synergy.
  • The Cons: Needing to keep the game running actively on your PC defeats the purpose of an "idle" game, and offline progression rates often feel way too punishing or neglected.

Where do you stand on the balance between active management and passive gains? What are your biggest pros and cons for this subgenre?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Update Dunmast, a pirate idle MMO in the browser: the Frontier is open

• Upvotes

Dunmast now has a lawless sea past the edge of the map, where every island is held by pirates. Players form alliances to drive out the pirates and settle the islands, then hold the water around them with garrisons. Pirate captains roam the seas, and rival alliances can call assaults on your ground. Some islands have maelstroms that open Elite raids, campaigns fought with your alliance for the best gear.

Your captain can now leave the ship and enter caves to fight monsters and find treasure. Pick Bruiser, Mender or Rogue and go down room by room, alone or in a party of three.

Dunmast is a shared-world idle MMO, like browser games of the OGame era. You build up a port and send fleets out on timers. The world keeps going while you're offline. What you send and where you send it decides the fight, and you can watch every battle play out. No signup needed to try it, and it works on phones.

The only thing for sale is a flat $5 membership with a few perks, but the game is free to play.

https://dunmast.com/?utm_source=incremental_games

AI Disclosure The art is AI generated, in a woodcut style. I build it with AI coding tools as well. Solo project.

Happy to answer anything.

Update IDLE REALMS: a free online idle RPG in pre-alpha now with world boss fights, a halloween event, indefinite action timers, and more!

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey folks!

Idle Realms is an online idle RPG - gain exp, loot, items, idle time, and more. We have a small 'twist' with Realms, entirely new replicas of the game that are completely separated from the main 'global' realm that are hosted by guilds.

I wanted to share some of the changes I've made since last time based on a lot of feedback from you folks!

  • HALLOWEEN EVENT! 🎃
    • We've added a fun reward to any action you do: get a 'Sealed Spirit', release it and all players on the realm doing an action get 'souls', you can spend the souls in the limited time Halloween shop on cosmetics, or you can try your luck at 2x, 3x, 10x, or 25x'ing your souls. We'll be running this event until the start of November!
  • Actions now run indefinitely whilst you are active in-game
    • Some folks found it hard to kick off a new action - the new default is much simpler and we hope a bit more generous for those who want to idle. The idle timers mechanic now counts as an offline timer instead, in other words, how much time you idle for when you log off or close the tab
  • Improved combat interface
    • You can now see all the participants in world boss fights and damage splats. We're working on improving the combat and builds for the long run - any feedback on this please do let us know
  • A new in-game suggestion box
    • For the long run I wanted an easy way for people to submit their ideas and give feedback as well as allow other players to vote on ideas that they think are good. Things that are good candidates for the roadmap and are reasonably well defined and popular will be considered very seriously by us (the devs)
  • We now have a (hopefully reasonable) privacy and terms page as pointed out in our last post. We've also worked on refining the intro tutorial sequence to be a bit snappier and quicker to get you in-game.

Enjoy! You can try it out here for free: https://idlerealms.com

Any feedback please do let us know and we'll try address it as best as we can.

AI disclosure: All art and in-game assets are hand drawn by our artist (aka Fruity). Any art that is not drawn is from free asset packs and will be replaced. We're particularly proud of the hand drawn NPC and World Boss art!

Discussion Why is every single incremental game on steam tagged as an Idler

I love idle games. I like having something going on in the background while I'm working, and an idle game is generally much less distracting than a tv show or podcast. I like making gradual progress towards easily definable goals. If a game can be reliably idled for 8ish hours, I can even set it up at night and then use the fact that it needs my input to help me get up in the morning, since I am otherwise terrible at that.

It isn't easy to make an idle game. The player's decisions need to be interesting and varied, so that when they are interacting with the game it feels important. The goals need to be meaningful and feel fair for the amount of time it will require to reach them. The majority of idle games I have played have been mediocre at best, and even the ones that I've really enjoyed tend to have some amount of flaws that either have to be studiously ignored or, if possible, modded out.

Which brings me to my main point: it is already quite difficult to find good idle games, and it is really not helped by no one seeming to understand what games the "Idler" tag should be applied to. Bills Must Be Paid is a 2-3 hour long game in which you have to manually aim a hammer at piggy banks. Scritchy Scratchy has you manually scratch off lottery tickets. Chef Knight is an action game. None of these games will make progress if you leave them running to go to the bathroom, let alone over night. If I try to search steam for Idle games, the overwhelming majority of games I find don't belong there. It's even worse than the Vampire Survivor clones and the Roguelite tag, because while it was just as annoying trying to sort through those to find good Roguelites at least they had the actual gameplay mechanics to justify tagging themselves like that.

Anyway, that's my rant. If anyone has any good idle incremental games they want to recommend in the comments, I'll take them - it's going to be a long wait until Melvor 2 comes out, and Deskrawl turned out to be a massive disappointment.

Rainbow city is a incremental progressive kinda little city builder thing where you smash a crystalline sparkling rainbow core and little pixelchunks of color fly off and you collect them and use them to upgrade the city and smash the core harder! it has: PUSHERS, SKYLIFTERS, CARRIERS, HAMMERCHOIR, KICKERS, and so much more. i hope youll check it out and enjoy.

Orbital Breaker 2 was inspired by a many games about breaking bricks, i guesss you could say its just an evolution of Arkananoid at its heart, but a modern retelling, you can get THOUSANDS OF BALLS AND THE FPS STAYS BUTTERY. you should experience this game its really fun to watch , leave feedback for tuning progression !!

u can find more of my incremental games on gelwater.itch.io, like Pongfront, and Orbital Breaker 1!

have a great time, i hope youll enjoy my games, and please feel free to leave any kind of comment thats constructive or positive or even both !

Development My incremental mining game - Dwarven Shift 98 - has a free demo in Steam Next Fest

• Upvotes

Hey people,

i kind of did the wrong thing of releasing my steam page and demo right into Next Fest without any momentum. So far the demo is well recieved with a median playtime of 52 Minutes.

If you would like to check it out here is a link: Dwarven Shift 98

AI disclosure: AI touched these things

  • All code
  • All translations
  • All marketing material (image generators as an in-between step)
  • In-game art: built by that code from shaders and basic shapes, not by image generators

Game demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5449680/Mini_Legends_Idle/

AI disclosure: AI has been involved in the following elements:

  • All translations.
  • All marketing material.
  • In-game HUDs

*Mini Legends Idle* is a desktop game designed for serious progression. I want to set it apart by ensuring that armor, weapons, and other items are actually visible on your character. PvP, raids, and clan wars will be meaningful—this isn’t just a game you leave running while you go to sleep. Progress here will reward those who truly put in the effort to optimize their character through the best build paths, skill choices, and more. It will feature both a Steam marketplace and an in-game marketplace to cater to all types of players.

Development An incremental fishing game

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that I finished the development of the demo of my game, and it's playable in both Desktop and Web version on the itch page:

https://mannyverse.itch.io/go-fishin

The demo let you play through the first 2 islands and try some of the abilities, discover more than 30 species and continue when the game will be out so you can actually continue from the demo point.

Right now the game is only available on itch, but in future will be available on steam (the idea is the have the game ready for the next 'Steam Next Fest' and do the full release).

Let me know what you think and if there's some problem.

AI Disclosure: AI helped me review some part of code, some placeholder in the early states and the Spanish Localization (mostly UI related, fish's asset pack was already localized in Spanish).

I'll be publishing my game on the next Steam "Next Fest", on February, but a demo is already out!

This game was born as a "Mystery Drop Games" project, published on Itch.io. I thought I could do better so I'm releasing Idle Digger Bots Deluxe with more content, mechanics, etc. The video shows some gameplay. Hope you like it!

You can check it out here!

Cheers!

AI Disclosure: I used some AI to make textures, concepts and drafts. Then I edited and animated it manually to polish the final game look and feel. As a solo gamedev, I used AI to assist the development process.

Development I'm working on incremental strategy game where settlement building meets Total War-style battles , Looking for feed back on the demo

I just released a demo of Army Factory, an incremental strategy game where you develop a small village into a powerful military settlement. Build and upgrade structures, manage resources, research technologies, train regiments, and conquer other cities to expand your territory.

I'm looking for feedback on a few things:

  • Is the concept easy to understand?
  • Does the game feel strategic enough?
  • How would you like the battles to work?

Originally, battles started automatically every 10 minutes, but some players felt this could interrupt the gameplay. I've since moved toward a campaign system and am considering adding raids and exploration.

My main concern is that the game might drift too far away from being an incremental game. I'm a strategy player myself, so I tend to lean toward deeper strategy mechanics, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on finding the right balance.

What would you change or add?

Try the demo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5094230/Army_Factory/

Thanks for checking it out! Any feedback is appreciated.

Android Solo dev, gamer since the 90s. I made a dark keep builder with idle production and guild raids. Do simple looking games still have a chance?

Im a family man who develops a game solo next to my job as an administrator. The background is that I have been playing games regularly out of passion since the early 90s. For many years successfully online role playing games, racing games and other games on PC and console.

In this game I tried to combine, as well as i could, all the mechanics I came across over the last decades that gave me joy and fun. It was important to me to move with the times. From my point of view the future lies away from PC and console, in mobile devices. Fast paced, available everywhere, that is exactly what the game should offer. In return, complex systems that make players think. That doesnt work for everyone, but it is my own standard. Successful titles in the genre take you by the hand and lead you from A to B.

I would like to know if graphically simple games, far away from DLSS, still have a chance in the future. Games whose content grows from many years of experience of real players, far away from AI ideas that offer little substance.

English isn't my first language. I wrote this in German and translated it with AI.

The game Grauwacht, a dark fantasy keep builder with idle production, hunts, gear from D to SSS, guilds, raid bosses and castle sieges. Free, no ads, no energy bar.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.grauwacht.app&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit-incremental

Browser, phone or PC: https://grauwacht.web.app/?von=reddit-incremental

AI disclosure: All painted pictures and all item art are AI-generated, and some of the pictures are animated with an AI video tool. Some 3D beasts and buildings started as AI models (Meshy) and are rendered in Blender. The code is written with an AI coding assistant (Claude Code). The main story was drafted with AI help and edited by me, and the translations are AI-assisted. The ideas, the systems, game design and balancing are mine.

Discussion Little vent post about something trivial

I was playing an incremental game the other day, and needed to manually click on the same upgrades over and over again each time I did resets a mind numbing amount of times. So overall, pretty standard stuff for an incremental game. Then, after a few more minutes, I finally got the automation/upgrade keeping at reset upgrade. And it was called "Finally : Keep X upgrades". And upon seeing this it made me think about something I've seen like a thousand time in incremental games, the fact that the developper themselves joke about how tedious getting an automation was.

And look, I understand that sometimes it's justified for the pacing or the game and all but 90% of the times, if you as a developper know that your game is getting tedious because the automation comes too late....why aren't you doing anything about it instead of including a snarky commentary? It's not much but I really dislike this quirk of incremental games developing.

Steam After 2 months of open beta, Mimic2 - Idle MMORPG is coming to Steam next week

Hey folks,

It was 2 months ago when I first posted about the Mimic2 in this subreddit and had my very first players from here. Now after many feedbacks about the game, couple of rewrites of the entire UI and some of the systems it is now coming to Steam on October, 28th.

Mimic2 is a cross-platform idle incremental MMORPG where you start with thousands of damage and reach to sextillions of damage over the 9 maps and 35 difficulties. It is an idler game where you only kill bosses every couple of hours when they respawn, so the main gameplay is in optimizing the upgrade paths and deciding among 15 different bonus types.

Here are some of the features:

Equipment

95 different item slots, all of them upgradable, with 7,515 total item levels

  • 8 gear sets of 10 pieces; Helmet, Armor, Necklace, Earrings, Weapon, Gloves, Belt, Shield, Bracelet and Boots
  • 3 soul item chains (Dream, Sky, Celestial), 41 levels each
  • 17 skin sets, 102 pieces in total, plus 35 skin boosters that can be upgraded to 5 tiers
  • 6 element talismans up to level 201 each with an additional combined Elemental Talisman
  • 6 stars, 6 seal items, 12 emblems, 6 ancient arts
  • 3 permanent rings that can be leveled up to 100, 27 temporary rings in 6 families
  • 5 shinings, 5 essences, 5 relic items

The RNG Systems

  • Enchanter: 33 different enchant stones usable on 38 equippable item categories to add extra bonuses. You reroll until you get the bonus you want.
  • Runesmith: Craft, upgrade and socket runes, gems and evolutions into your gear pieces for extra damage.
  • Alchemy: 7 stone categories, 5 grades, 5 purification tiers: 980 different stones with random bonuses, so it is a long grind until you get the best ones.
  • Tailor: one item, the Warrior Sash, 600 levels. The deepest ladder in the game. It absorbs a weapon and scales with it: the stronger the weapon, the stronger the bonuses, but the weapon is destroyed in the process.
  • Transmutator: 310 recipes. Maxed gear converts to the next set and you climb a ladder of equippable item sets. Spare materials convert to rings, stars and enchant materials.
  • Upgrade chance: the highest upgrade levels drop to a 20% chance, so you will be pulling your hair out trying to upgrade.

Other Upgradable Mechanics

  • Shaman Buffi: a shaman companion who grants a 12 hours buff and has to be charged first
  • Tranky the baby dragon: your pet dragon with its own skills and RNG mechanics
  • Mount: can be leveled up to 250 levels, an RNG type roll and enchant mechanic
  • Quests: 832 kill and item quests in 10 different categories
  • Skills: 1 active air sword skill and 9 passive skills

The game is completely free-to-play and does not have any purchasable element. I plan on adding battle pass, visual only skins and other mechanics that won't favor paying players over free players too much.

Feedback from this sub shaped a lot of the beta; the UI rework came out of a thread here so looking forward to what you think about it now. If you want to test the game now, you can play the beta from the browser or from play store.

HTML Evermarch: An idle party raiding game I've been making solo(browser, mobile web, open alpha)

Hi all,

I’m Click, and I’ve been spending a bit of time making a game after being a player for years, putting in the ideas I’d want in a game.

It’s a free browser idle RPG where you run a small party of heroes who fight, loot and level up while you’re away.

It’s in open alpha, so expect rough edges, and progress may be reset before beta.

Play: https://playevermarch.com (desktop and phone, you’ll need to make an account. I’m looking at a Steam launch later too.)

What you do

  • Pick one of nine classes (Warrior, Paladin, Priest, Mage, Archer, Assassin, Warlock, Shaman, Berserker) and fill out your party with companions. Party up with other players, or play solo with a merry band of companions from the tavern.
  • Clear zones and zone bosses, then move on to Hunts, Raids and a Guild boss, and take on world bosses with other online players.
  • Chase gear: tiers, rolled stats, gems, runes, and Uniques that change how your class’s build works.
  • At level 40 and 80 you unlock keystones, which each bend one rule of how you fight.
  • End-game is Fractured Shards, levelled maps that go past level 100, set to how hard you want to push and how much you want to be rewarded.
  • Crafting to bring your own build to life.
  • PvP Arenas and Leaderboards to track your progress and achievements against other players.

Just patched

A big balance patch just landed. End-game zones are tougher, capped stats like crit chance and attack speed roll lower, so hitting a cap takes real gear and choices, and every role got new gear lines and skill tags to build around.

What I’d most like feedback on: how the first hour feels, and whether it’s clear what you’re working towards. I’ll be in the comments, but feedback in our Discord would be great too, or through the in-game bug report tool, which you can also use for suggestions.

AI disclosure: The art is made with ChatGPT, and I use Claude to write a lot of the code and help with GitHub and hosting. The game design, balance, vision and what goes in are mine.
