Mod Post Genderbent Draco Malfoy Mega-thread

Post image
628 Upvotes

Everyone keeps telling me, "CuteJuice, you're the coolest person I know, we need to ban Draco Malfoid!", "CuteJuice, my favorite moderator, I'm sick of seeing this green freak all over my page!", "CuteJuice, I love you so much, why aren't you banning Draco Malfoy genderbends!". We have heard you and fret not, Hatethissmug citizens, we are trying something new.

Usually when faced with this sort of thing, as you've seen with Lesbian Space Princess and The Amazing Digital Circus, we outright ban these things. These things usually blow over in a week or two, and we repeal the ban. This time, we wanted to try something different. Instead of stopping conversations around it altogether, we want to try starting a mega-thread instead! This means people can continue to discuss things, but it won't clog everyone else's feed with the same few things over and over. New posts will be taken down and redirected here.

Of course, sub rules still apply. It'll get locked if people get too rowdy just like every other post, but we wanted to give this a try and see if it's a viable option moving forward. Please remain as respectful as possible, and if all goes well, we can try this moving forward with other trends as well rather than shutting them down completely!

Mod Post ANOTHER UPDATE TO RULE 5!

Post image
240 Upvotes

GREETINGS users of hatethissmug.

Today I bring you news of an update to our sub rules.

We have rewritten rule 5 again! Making it a more clear and adding more topics to the list!

With the rise of annoying gender war posts, we've made them completely banned, because most of these posts fall under the motte and bailey fallacy. They claim to be about one thing, but are actually the OP's way to hate on the opposing gender.

We've also expanded our politics rule! Topics such as israel or government decisions are gone! We get it, you hate the government, Dave Mustaine did it better.

Please adjust your post criteria and report the posts that break the new rule 5 that are newer than this post.

Thank you for using hatethissmug.

I HATE ALL OF YOU! đŸ”„ đŸ–€ đŸ–€ đŸ”„

Corporation/Company I hate that people are glazing a billionaire for the work of engineers.

I am well aware this is a crazy cool feat of engineering, however everyone keeps praising Elon Musk for it. Such a stunt probably took a team of some of the smartest engineers in the automotive industry, yet this stunt has Elons name in every post and article talking about it. The guy couldn’t even make a paper airplane glide if he tried.

Live Action I hate self diagnosis

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

And the fact people on Reddit are "ride or die" for self diagnosis being the same as an official diagnosis.

Sorry, but it isnt.

Its especially prevelent for autism, adhd & ptsd. Idc how long the waiting list is, idc that you saw similarities when you googled symptoms. Self diagnosis doesnt mean shit.

And it wouldnt be a problem if people who self diagnose werent so fucking vocal about it. A self diagnosed person will be the first to blame their shitty behavior on a mental illness they may/may not have.

Just cos ur a bit silly doesnt mean ur autistic. Just cos ur a bit speedy doesnt mean you have adhd. And these people poison the well for people who actually have these disorders.

I understand that some self diagnosed people do have what they say they have. But in the same vein alot dont.

Im never going to take self diagnosis seriously. And that probably makes me a villain on reddit but idgaf. Tired of larpers & people invalidating my own & other peoples struggles & the negative symptoms that you dont seen because someone is "haha im stimming xD đŸ€Ș merp" diagnosing themselves & making light of our struggles.

Im a bit drunk so if this is incomprihensable i apologise, but i hope i got my point across.

I know this will get downvoted to shit cos most Redditors are self diagnosed with something & think this is a personal attack on them. Which it is. Fuck you.

Edit 2. Someone in the comments said something that i should have put in the original post that i 100% agree with;

"You can tell people you THINK you have something. but if youre not actually diagnosed its just a straight up lie to say you have any disorder"

Non-fictional I hate how this mentality is so present here in Africa and poor country

Post image

Before you call me racist and making generalisation, im african and have saw many exemple of this.

9 child ,9 fucking child living in a house smaller than a 250$ apartement i know people live like this cuz those are our neighbor. Those parent are evil, having such little money but still making more child every year and putting childs that didn't even want to be born into this situation. They barely eat don't even go to school and just do little job here and there to get little money because the parents yk, those who are supposed to get the children food and other thing ARE UNEMPLOYED BUM. Its pathetic that adult can't control themselve and don't respect there responsability and put them on child. If yk you can't feed childs and put them to school, than don't have kids use a FREAKING condom its not tgat hard because doing this is fucking horrible

I just don't like those big family where the adult do nothing exept reproduce and make the childs do everything

Non-fictional I hate hearing about the Nutty Putty cave incident

Post image
558 Upvotes

For those who happily avoided this case until now: basically a man got trapped in a cave in the position shown on the photo and despite everyone's best efforts, they couldn't get him out. He died upside down like that, probably in unimaginable pain. The cave was sealed off after that.

Shock value engagement baiters just cannot let this case rest in peace, I swear. Despite never looking for it, I somehow see it brought up at least once per month. Usually on the thumbnail of some YouTube video titled "the worst fates in history" and the like. It's a disgusting, deeply unsettling incident that's horrible to think about. I cannot even comprehend how much torture that man suffered through before his body gave out. I hate being reminded of something so tragic just by browsing on the web. I want things on my feed that make me feel happy, not sick.

Thing I hate superficial political virtue signaling memes

Thumbnail
gallery
967 Upvotes

I’m not a fan of this trend of pairing kawaii characters such as Hello Kitty or those from Animal Crossing and fandom characters with left-wing political slogans (e.g., ACAB, trans rights, BLM, anti-ICE). It looks like a superficial virtue signal used mostly to follow popular social media trends and aesthetics before moving on to the next topic. It’s even more cringeworthy when they use slogans such as “eat the rich,” because Animal Crossing and Hello Kitty belong to Nintendo and Sanrio, respectively, both multibillion dollar companies.

This isn’t a new phenomenon, either. “Hello Kitty ACAB” edits were already being written about back in 2020, and people were calling the trend out as performative even then.

The interesting part is that combining the image of mass consumerism with social commentary is far from being new. In avant-garde political and art movements like the Situationist International or even Pop Art, they reappropriated the symbols of consumer culture and turned them against itself, a concept called “dĂ©tournement.” But this trend is none of that. The original point of dĂ©tournement was to subvert. Here it’s just using kawaii characters as a way of making complex social problems and political ideas look “aesthetic” and palatable for social media, a way of saying “I’m such a great person” before moving onto whatever gets you the most likes and followers.

You could argue that putting a protest sign in a mascot’s hands is "subversive," but the mascot stays cute and on-brand, so nothing is actually disrupted. There is no subversion of the corporate image, it’s just a multibillion dollar character (Hello Kitty's value is roughly worth $80-89 billion) holding an “eat the rich” sign. The Situationists had a word for this: recuperation), when subversive imagery gets absorbed back into the system it was meant to attack. Sanrio loses nothing, and it may even gain from the association.

You can see this in how interchangeable the format is: swap out the text and the same Hello Kitty works for “eat the rich,” “BLM,” or “cops ain’t cute.” In 2020, it was BLM, in 2026, it’s ICE. The slogan changes, but the template always stays the same.

To be clear, I’m not against BLM, trans rights, or any of these causes, or that you can somehow not enjoy a popular intellectual property while disliking the rich and wealth inequality. My issue is with the format. Turning serious issues into a cute and shareable aesthetic pretty much trivializes them. The people most affected, like Black Americans facing police brutality and transgender people fighting for their rights in many US states, the UK, etc., get their struggles repackaged into something "cute" and easy to scroll past. It makes the issue more palatable for people who don’t have to deal with it, and it lets sharing a pink Hello Kitty edit feel like doing something rather than... I don't know, taking real action? Even just a small monthly donation could make all the difference.

Thing I hate this image

Post image
3.8k Upvotes

This image sucks for many reasons but I’ll just list them all pretty quickly

  1. Guy who made it is kinda annoying and constantly reposts it all the time
  2. It’s one of those “they’re women so no hate they get is valid because it’s just sexism” things, pretty obvious especially with pizzacake being there
  3. Genuinely terrible examples, Jaiden is pretty much the only valid one. Pizzacake gets hated for many things and has pretty much never brought up religion, besides pizzacake deserves her hate she’s an asshole. Vivzie is also disliked for reasons other than gender/sex like poor writing and being arrogant. The men are possibly the worst examples to use for “men who get off completely free” like Matt and Trey above literally got death threats from terrorist groups and were stalked by Scientology. They have it worse than the three girls combined.
  4. Whole post is a goomba fallacy. OP likely doesn’t see that the people hating the girls are completely different from the ones who support the guys.
  5. All the creators have completely different audiences and levels of fame. The men at the top are high profile and don’t have a specific “comment section” to get shat on for, while the girls careers are BUILT on their internet presence and so have a lot easily ways to poke fun at. It’s just weird they’re comparing a small Reddit comic artist to fucking Seth McFarland
  6. Majority of the girls were hated by specific religious minorities who didn’t like her, and weren’t hated by the majority. In contrast the guys up top have a lot more split and diverse opinions rather than just “everyone like them”

Thing I hate that we can't use some of the coolest things just cause some dipshits decided to copy and use them and now people associate any similar thing with a hate symbol

Thumbnail
gallery
1.0k Upvotes

Do you know how now stores need to put a sign in their windows to explain to turists that the penintents aren't related to the KKK despite how they are centuries older than the country were they started? And how is some of the coolest outfit that catholicism ever made but since a racist group decided to use clothes that looked similar to commit hate crimes.

Or how the entire buddhist symbolism of the swastika is completely undermined under the idea of a facist regime from less than a century inverted the symbol and startee to use in their flag. And is not just a buddhist thing, i remember a the X files episode where they have to explain that the group of romanian aren't nazis and that they uses the symbol for protection way before both world wars.

I guess that it make a little sense with Neji since the hyuga used the mark to slave people based on what they believed was their birthright. But then you have Tokyo revengers, that i wouldn't call a good series, but is unwatcheable with the amount of censorship they added to the manji in the tokyo manji.

And is not only ancient things. I'm still pissed with the fact that pepe the frog is still considered a hate symbol by the ADL cause there's edits of him as doing a hate speech, you can do that with literally any character in existance, and is correct to call out people for make those images, but call the fucking draw of a frog crying a hate symbol cause people made edits of that is stupid as fuck. By that logic we should call the punisher's skull or the hulk a hate symbol.

I'm glad that most people know that it can be used in a lot of contexts.

However, i understand why this is made and why it would be hard to explain each time that the symbol they use is way older than what people associate to.

Non-fictional I HATE hesitation for CPR on women

Post image
6.7k Upvotes

For those who don't know, women are 27% less likely to receive bystander CPR than men.

The ideal spot for CPR is with the heel of your hand pressed against the sternum, which is between the breasts. Most types of bra will reduce the quality of your compressions. It's best to remove it when you expose the trunk (ideally with trauma shears). That said, any CPR is better than no CPR.

There are videos online showing how you can protect modesty during first-aid, e.g. Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest which happened live on TV. I recommend you watch it, as it shows how you can use bodies to protect privacy while still administering quality first-aid.

This scene from Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is a good example of a scene that I hate. It's got quirky music and a mortified looking Cloud Strife, in a situation which should be intense.

She's not breathing, someone has taken the lead and instructed him to start compressions, but he hesitates because of Yuffie's boobs. And to top it all off, she spontaneously wakes up and calls Cloud a "creep!"

It's media like this, combined with a lack of proper first-aid education, and fears of being sued (Google if your country has "Samaritan" laws) which make CPR on women a confusing and scary topic for your average bystander.

Remember from your DRsABC:

Check for Danger

Check for a Response

Shout for help (call 999/112/911)

The call handler or operator will walk you through the rest. But I do urge you to go on a first-aid course, either if it's your first or if it's been a while, because everyone should know how to save a life.

General when people incorrectly use the nazi germany naval flag

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

ok so i'm sorry if the image is a bit of a weird one to begin with but like idk what else to use. and obviously disclaimer i fucking hate nazi's and am in no way a nazi apologist.

but it's literally factually incorrect. it's the naval flag. the national flag of nazi germany was the black-white-red flag from 33-35 and the red background swastika flag 35-45. there are no other correct, national flags of nazi germany. it's purely used for aesthetics which is a weird thing considering you're displaying one of the most horrid regimes of all time.

Gaming When your fav has the worst design ever...

Context: Dia Elias - The First Descendant

[SPOILERS]

She and her mother were both kidnapped and tortured. Her mom escaped captivity, but she became a brainwashed killing machine for the main villain. She gets rescued by her mom, she goes into a coma. She awakens, slowly regains her lost memories, and undergoes training to become a descendant - where it's revealed she's a clone, and she mercy kills her original self.

[SPOILERS]

I waited for her to be playable since the game's launch. I even pondered how her Descendant outfit would look - maybe a knight in sci-fi armor motif, it would've fit her gameplay style, and her protective nature towards her mother. And then, they revealed how her default base design looked...

-The entire back half of the outfit is just a bare thong, and the legs are cut all the way down to the back of the calves...

-It has a thigh and hip widow gap for no reason, and the top and bottom are separated weirdly just to show off her side/under breast and back...

-The top half has a useless hoodie and mask you can't even wear...

Her Arche powers are ice based, and she's ment to be a melee Gunlancer, but has no protection on her whatsoever... It's not even sexy, its just dumb... 😭

Animation I really really dislike how Vivziepop makes her characters so thin (image unrelated)

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

They are just too thin, like stick figures. In fact, like tumblr-ized stick figures. I don’t like those proportions. Let’s take beezlebub for instance. She’s lwk hot, and I like the bee reference, but she’s too thin, especially given that she’s the queen of gluttony. Yes, I know gluttony really means when one doesn’t like what they have, and thus wants more of it (not to be confused with greed, where one is happy with what they have, and thus wants more of it), but literally why are they too skinny and stuff. I think they should be like a 2 ton blob with a big groany stomach, that would be hot. Additionally, in that one episode where loona visited that one party there, they should’ve done a wg sequence where loona is fed a lot of honey and shi, and in the end, loona is like so fat they can’t move or smth, and in the next couple of episodes, they should’ve made it so that loona just has a big stomach that groans, and she would burp and shit, it would be good and stuff lol

Batman works best as a support/strategist hero for Justice League battles. If they’re struggling to punch the problem, he can come up with an alternative win condition or a way to balance the scales. That’s where he shines.

But how is he surviving on the front lines? Any punch or blast that can hurt, stagger, or even just move Superman and co. should atomize Batman.

Non-fictional You know what I fucking hate, AI generated Memes

5.5k Upvotes

I hate when people complain about AI and all that shit by then use AI generated memes like it's nothing.

Things like the Red Hearing meme or the Disintegrating squirrel.

The first one especially pisses me off because the original is completely human made but they just made it ai for absolutely no fucking reason.

First of all it looks ugly as hell, second of all it's AI, and third of all it all just seems hypocritical, complaining about it but using the product.

Even though it may not be your fault and may not realize it is AI, still why the fuck do people make AI memes in the first place, get an editing software like the rest of us.

and no this isn't only an AI bad post, this is also an hypocrisy bad post.

Motherfucker, your fling risked his life to give you a flower, a small but extremely difficult to get flower at that, and you cheat on him too? Fuck you.

He also abandoned his daughter chasing after his said fling.

When he promised he wouldn't, he did it anyway.

FUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKK I FUCKING HATE HIM

I do not care if they're "not actually together" what the fuck was I supposed to think with the end of season 2 Vivian? That they're not?

Stella was right, he is a pathetic fucking man.

Language I hate when people exaggerate how much time something took

Post image
‱ Upvotes

No it did not! It takes a maximum of 10 seconds to come up with the two possible answers and another minute or so to realise that the problem is with the question and not your math.

I know exaggeration is a part of language and communication but this specific type of exaggerating time it took for something is particularly cringey to me.

General I hate when people go to your profile to find dirt on you, and return with something completely unrelated to the topic being discussed.

‱ Upvotes

One time on an old account I said something really downvotable, and so I was getting downvoted. Then some guy came in and replied to my comment with something along the lines of "this guy's a high schooler applying for college by the way", and I upvoted the comment because I thought it was about the person I first replied to and this guy was trying to defend my case or something. A day or two later, I said sorry to the person I was talking to, and only then did I realize that the aforementioned replier had looked at my recent posts and was talking about ME. I was so pissed that this had gotten upvoted. Sure, I was in the wrong, but what did me applying to college have to do with anything? Like, that's not even *that* young, and even if it is you can be young and still be right (I know I said earlier that I upvoted it because I thought it was about the guy I was against, but you can't expect me to *always* act rationally). That's the only time it's ever happened to me, but every once in a while I'll see it happen to someone else and cringe knowing that some guy is getting upvoted for contributing absolutely nothing to the discussion.

Meta French people hate online. (Long read)

Thumbnail
gallery
46 Upvotes

Didn't know what to tag this as. Please note that I do not hate the people in the images, rather I hate what the title describes, and the motion around it. I repeat, i do NOT hate the people in the images nor do I condone hating on the people in the images.

The images are from a thread under a post which finally inspired me to make this post. I heard that the BK image is ironic or a joke or whatever, and I get that, but it still doesn't change what I'm going to say.

This might get a lot of downvotes, disagreements, or otherwise, simple due to how prevalent it is online.

But I hate how, for lack of a better word, "normalized" and even "praised" the hate for French people has become. Now look, I'm not French myself, I'm American, but I have a online French friend and, quite frankly, he's one of the nicest people I know and one of the bestest friends I've ever had.

I heard one of the reasons people hate French people is due to their unpleasant and rude personality, and while that may or may not be true, my friend also happens to be one of the chillest and wokest people I know as well.

But I didn't come to talk about my friend.

I don't like this "hate" that people have come to foster online. When I first heard about it, I thought it was just a light joke. Infact, I used to be one of those people, particularly because the aforementioned friend used to make those same types of jokes towards his own kind.

However, I stopped when I realized my friend had also stopped, and those type of jokes even began to make him uncomfortable (atleast from what I could tell). I realized that, yeah, what I was doing was pretty lame and it was hurting someone I was close with. It was dumb and I regret it, and I stopped now.

But realizing how it was hurting my friend overtime also made me realize how frankly stupid the whole thing is. Now, to be fair, I don't completely understand it as I haven't been able to find a valid reason as to WHY its become to mainstream in the first place.

But I think that's part of the problem, there is no valid reason. What started as a "joke", has become straight up xenophobia, and xenophobia has no valid reason.

Hating an entire population of people simply for who they were born as is Xenophobia. You don't hate them because you actually know who they are as people, as if you've met every single one, you hate them because of what you've seen online and what they have been generalized as, or because of the actions of the corruption in power, in which case neither are right.

And it doesn't matter how much you joke about hating them or hate them unironically, the fact that it has gone into constantly dehumanizing them and treating them like they're animals and encouraging it is weirdo behavior to me. And it being about French people, just because hating on them has now become so normalized, does not make it any better than hating on other groups of people.

I know people will probably try to defend it by saying "but its just a joke!" I already understand that it is, but it doesn't change that I haven't been able to find a valid reason why its become a joke in the first place, nor does it change the fact that its starting to become increasingly less ironic.

I'm not referring to the people in the images but I've interacted with others who genuinely seem to hate French people.

So yeah, I don't say this because I'm defending the French government's past or their actions or whatever. But respectfully, I think the whole "joke" is nonsense, it's not funny anymore, and at this point sounds no longer like a joke and just sounds like genuine xenophobia. I hate how mainstream it has gotten recently.
