Just the right amount of ammo

For serious ccw holders only, the Taylor freelance Goliath xl baseplate extension gives you an extra 30 rounds on top of your 30 round Glock stick. Never run out of ammo in any defensive scenario. It also doubles as an option for pcc open 😱

In seriousness, this thing is ridiculous. I feel like you could probably defend yourself with a fully loaded mag and not even need a gun. I’ll definitely be carrying this at work to get some laughs.

Help identifying this DWM Luger before I buy!

Looking to buy this from someone selling off their collection. They're asking $600... just want to be sure of what I have here as far as period, if you see any finish alterations or mismatched parts, fair price and approximate resale value? And caliber. He said it was 9mm but I'm not sure. More photos in the comments.

potbatindustries made me an SR180M

Post image

So had a fever dream of AKing an AR. Took a BRN180 Gen 2 5.56 upper and a FM102 1913 lower. Did slight modifications on the upper and u/potbatindustries made me the handguard, 1913 ASVAL stock adapter, Middleton made selector dust cover, pistol grip, and a soon to come AK optic rail.

Anyway we call it SR180M an homage to the SR3M.

Also he made me a MCS Breacher shotgun (waiting on my form1) that he also made for me using an adapter for a maverick 88/mossberg 500 for a Pachmayr presenter grips for a 870

Is buying at the pawnshop recommended?

Like the title says, I was wondering if buying firearms that are for sale at a pawnshop worth it, and the people that have bought at one before, do you regret it?

I understand that I am talking a risk buying from a pawnshop in the sense that the weapon may be stolen.

Ammo question

Post image
311 Upvotes

So i traded a small safe for some 45acp. The ad i put out was for 200rds of 45 for this small safe i was trying to get rid of.

This person responded and i traded. When he gave me this stuff, i asked how old was that ammo. He said he was a retired leo and this was stuff they shot at the range.

My question is, can anyone tell me if this ammo is jist reloaded soft lead? When i scrape it with my finger l, my nail digs in so im assuming it isnt hard cast. Ive justs never seen or shot ammo that looks this old.

Dont get me wrong, im not mad. Im taking it to the range tomorrow to use, im just curious is someone can at least say yes it looks like reloads with soft led bullets or if there is something im missing with this ammo.

See below response with added pictures since i can only out 1 at a time.

Short Barrel Rifle Laws In Texas

My understanding is that you no longer need any kind of stamp or permit to own a short barrel AR, is that correct?

So if I have an AR pistol can I put a standard stock on it and fire it from the shoulder like a rifle?

BTR Arms

I am currently looking to buy a .308 rifle in South Africa. I was looking at the Howa 1500 and then came across BTR Arms rifles. As far as I know they are quite new, especially in South Africa. Do anyone know how they compare to Howa in terms of reliability and parts availability? Or any other recommendations I should look at and factors to consider?

Can anyone help me find an old YouTuber that specializes in strength tests on Guns!

This YouTuber loved guns and loved to put them through rigorous tests that would include dunking the whole gun in “frog Lube” or he would always test his new guns on how many Purple Water bottles he could shoot in a row! His catch phrase was a play on words on the colt 1911. He would call his Glock, “Glocktine 11” his name was Matty or H something but he’s completely vanished! I try AI but it makes up fake people to get my hopes up. I can’t find his stuff or videos anywhere and it’s driving me mad! Please anyone else help me!

Varmint recommendations

I'm thinking of getting a varmint gun for beaver, lynx, and such. I was thinking .17 HMR or .22 WMR. I've used a .17 HMR before and I love it, but should I go with a platform I'm used to or try out a new caliber? Or maybe a .223?It's a bit big for beaver, but it's usable. It also lets me hunt deer, but I'll be hunting more beaver than deer, so should I focus on beaver and get a .17 HMR or .22 Mag, or get a .223 to give me more opportunity?

Would a blizzard muffle the sound of a gunshot?

I'm watching a gameplay right now (Kubz Scoutz) and the main characters are stuck in a blizzard and one of them, he mentioned, seemingly has a bullet wound in his leg. This made me wonder if it would really be possible for a gunshot to be muffled by a blizzard if it was intense enough. Lmk because I am genuinely curious r/guns
