This is the long lost 22lr that probably made it into the family in the 1950s. My uncle recently found it hidden inside the wall of one of our hunting shacks. For an american I assume the closest thing is a deer stand. Basically a hut high in the air that is supported by metal or wood posts. Anyways, this once belonged to my grandpa and he was the one to hide it and eventually forget about where he put it. We have also just registered it to our names.
It was originally used in our family to put down pigs when needed. However one extremely interesting thing is that if u look close enough u can see a magazine type thing under the gun + its cut stock. Let me remind u that this is a toz-8 and those were only made as 1 shot rifles. That magazine is 100% handmade, made from 3 different piece of brass it was made as an internal magazine which wasn't supposed to come out. The gun barrel has been cut at the bottom and another metal piece that has been precisely machined to feed from the magazine. It is extremely well done and if u know anything about guns then hand making a magazine that actually feeds is not easy at all. At some point the magazine was blocked off because it probably stopped working or wasn't needed anymore. We suspect this gun once belonged to the forest brothers that mostly were around after the war in and in the 50s and thats why these changes were made to it.
Ive took on the task to fully restore it. Its in pretty good shape, only surface rust and thankfully the bolt is rust free as I cannot figure out how one would come apart. As of now ive fully restored the rear sight with new springs and bluing. Also blued the trigger guard and trigger base plate. Mostly have been thinking what I will do with the surface rust and how to clean it. Rust has gotten inside of the rear sights base and thats tricky to get off. Might need to soak the gun in rust removal to get to that. Then will polish the whole gun and apply a new layer of bluing. Will make a new stock for it aswell.
