I liked the idea of giving Mudder’s Milk its own proper brand, like something you’d actually find on a shelf somewhere in the ’Verse. Went with a rough, old-school label style and the “worker’s tonic” line, because that feels about right for a drink that promises all the goodness of a turkey dinner. The Canton and Higgins’ Moon details are part of my take on the branding.

What other bits of everyday life in the ’Verse would make good designs?

I’m a massive syfy gal and everyone told me to watch but that just made me not want to watch it! Now I wish I had more!

Just finished firefly this week. Love the show so much that I can’t wait to start a rewatch. I’m looking for shows like this that have a great mix of seriousness and humor.

Just finished watching again, hadn't gone through for a few years. First thing to note is I was surprised again by how bad Train Job is in terms of production values compared to the rest of them.

But as we finished, I started to think, maybe the best way forward for the show would be to start it over as a prestige show somewhere. I'd recommend Apple TV, since they have done great work on sci-fi shows already.

We got one season that is about the equal to a prestige TV show's seasons, so it's not like changing to that format would cost anything. The big question is whether anyone would want a reboot, or whether it was more lightning in a bottle with the actors in the original. I think the show itself is strong enough to restart it with new people.

I could see making room for the old actors. Fillion could be great appearing from time to time as Badger, Tudyk can be any kind of robot that might come up, Baccarin could be higher companion other than Inara they meet at some point, Glau could be an enemy fighter, and so on. If they had to have someone from the original carry over in the same role, I'd say Baldwin as Jayne, because I can't think of a point where his age matters, and it might be better if he was a more used up brute they picked up.

Would anyone else be interested, or is the general consensus that it should be picked up with the same cast or left alone?

Been watching Dollhouse as of late and it sort of dawned on me on how much Joss Whedon changed his style of writing in term of tone ie a less focus on humor but more focus gritter narratives. It begs to ask that if Firefly continued would Joss have dailed back on the humor and give us a more edgier tone.

It’s a perfect fit for a Mass Effect style series. I don’t think you’d even need much from the cast. Maybe a couple appearances here and there, but the universe has so much potential. It wouldn’t have to focus on the Firefly crew, it could be a massive space adventure where you (the player) come across a salvageable Firefly class ship and become a space pirate. Seeing the serenity and being able to walk around it and engage with the crew would be cool, but it might be too expensive to get the whole cast for an entire game. But I’d wager many of them would be glad to do it even if it’s just a cameo. And maybe have some of the original writers craft a script. I don’t know. It’s just such a fascinatingly unique “space western”, that would seem purpose built for modern open world gaming.

Finally unlocked enough of the right designs and fabric to do it. So happy with how it turned out! If anyone else here plays, I'm happy to share the fabrics and designs I used. I'd also love to see how someone else might recreate it!

Not to denegrate Serenity since I think the film was fantastic but looking back I now get the feeling that Objects in Space did it better best when ending Firefly as opposed Serenity. It also reminds of how Prophecy Girl was more of a better series finale than Chosen when it came to Buffy.

There are so many collected versions... Which do I need to read it all?

Trying to get into another show like firefly or the ark. If anyone has suggestions let me know. Please dont suggest the expanse. Its a little too political for my taste.

Thanks to so many of you, my Lego Ideas project has met the 10,000 vote threshold required to be reviewed and considered for production! I wanted to include the message I received as well, so anybody curious about the next steps in the process could read what they told me. I just booked my appointment for my 40th birthday tattoo. I’m working on filling out my left leg. My existing tattoo is one that represents my literary heroines and I’m going to add my favorite tv shows around it. Since the announcement of the animated series this summer I want to start with Firefly.

I’m hoping to do a line art of the ship Serenity with flowers representing the crew around it. What flowers would you choose for each member????
