Announcement New AI Flair

We're adding an AI content submission flair to the subreddit as an experiment.

You'll start to see it pop up on various posts, and the flair itself has to be assigned by moderators, so submitters are NOT able to add it themselves.

Why

The reason this is an experiment is because as we have said before - we believe (based on prior evidence) that adding a flair or further moderating AI-related content will not reduce toxicity, and in fact is likely to act more as a red flag to toxic users, causing witch hunts and similar.

Our primary goal for this subreddit is to be a welcoming and accessible space for the majority of its target audience. That means our moderation decisions have to be based on that goal, and not what any individual or group may want for the subreddit.

With that being the case, we are opting to probe this with caution to see how the community handles it. If we see a definitive reduction in AI-related toxicity on posts flaired with AI, we will likely consider it a success.

If we see no difference, or the opposite, we are likely to consider it an abject failure.

If you have had your post flaired

If you have made a post, and it has been flaired as mostly AI; this is not a statement about you, or your work. This is just a flair to denote a primarily AI-generated content post. We do not have any rules for or against AI.

If you believe your post was mistakenly flaired, send a message to the moderators to let us know. We'll only be applying it on posts we're quite confident on, but that doesn't mean we don't make mistakes.

Reminder

Once again, a reminder that users CANNOT add this flair themselves, so brigading posts demanding they add it will not help your cause, and is in fact likely to harm it.

Thanks

Mostly AI Horsing Around (Horse Riding Rework)

I've been working on this mod for around three and a half weeks and it just got denied by Modrinth. There's probably nothing that I can do to change that but I figured I'd still post it here for anyone who wants to try it out.

This mod was made using AI for coding, however it is not a one shot slop project. I've been iterating for multiple weeks in order to make sure that the mod feels exactly how I want it to feel, and also so that it is free of any bugs. It's also very well optimized. MORE VIDEOS OF THE MOD IN THE MODRINTH PAGE DESCRIPTION, IM REALLY BAD AT REDDIT SO IDK HOW TO PUT MORE HERE...

Git repo.

The mod costs:

  • Client: about 70 µs per frame, roughly 0.6% of one CPU core
  • Server: about 7 µs per tick, 0.1–0.3% of the server thread
  • Memory: about 1% of the client’s, nothing on the server

Mostly AI been working on a tarot magic mod for minecraft. here’s how it’s going so far :)

i’m a game dev, and one of my spare-time projects is Cartomancy, a magic mod built around tarot, astrology, and the celestial bodies. the idea is that all of it can be explored and understood by a curious scholar.

the 78 tarot cards are actual spells, with their effects influenced by the sky, where you are, and the circumstances you’re casting under.

there’s a whole scholarly craft built around that: chalk, readings, rites, an astrological beating/reading device (astrolabe), living clockwork machinery, and paper friends you can hug, offend, or watch infect each other with candle colours.

the philosophy i’m aiming for is somewhere between feeling like a Thaumaturge, getting the immediate spell fantasy of Iron’s Spells, and engaging tactically with the world like Botania and Create.

it’s not released yet, but the github has more screenshots and a look at the systems if you’re curious :)

i’d love to hear what you think!

this mod have double jump, slide, wall climb and bullet jump. It's really buggy and i only used the animations that already exists in minecraft (since i'm a terrible animator lol).

Should I keep working in this project?

Source code will be in the comments if anyone wants to take a look

Looking for mod(s) What happened to Manic?

Post image
49 Upvotes

I was making another kitchen sink modpack for myself when i realized that Manic, a mod I had I found on YouTube, would fit the vibe of what I was going for in the modpack. but when I looked it up on modrinth and curseforge, I couldn’t find anything.

Edit: I found out what happened to the mod When I rewatched the YouTube video provided here: https://youtu.be/Tt3J7dcHcYc?si=4kvFQu6zJxOPkNKE

it turns out the author of the mod deleted it from both curseforge and modrinth. I don’t know the whole details of why they did it but it’s honestly a shame because it looked like a cool mod.

I made something Showing off Polytone colored lights

This uses, as far as I'm aware, a slightly different method of doing things than other light mods.
This feature is part of polytone mods and its entirely resource pack driven. Even works with modded shaders as it patches them, replacing the vanilla light calculation with the polytone light volume one.
Range is very high too, they got a near detailed field and a far low rez one of 512 blocks, configurable to more too.
Won't bore with more details... Yeah it's colored lights what else is there to say they are pretty to look at. Pack shown is a sample one called PolyLights

Discussion Imagine an add-on for the Vampirism mod that allows you to be a hybrid of all three species.

Post image
25 Upvotes

I know this sounds pretty ridiculous and would break the mod's balance, but... man, don't you think it would be fun if there were a difficult way to obtain the abilities of a vampire, a werewolf (from the "Werewolves - Become a Beast" mod), and a vampire hunter?

Or, at the very least, being a "vampire-werewolf" hybrid—that would be awesome! I’m actually surprised there isn’t a mod that allows for this combination.

Maybe something like this: you have to be bitten by a werewolf while under the effect of a vampirism potion, all while holding a crucifix. That way, you’d have access to both the werewolf and vampire skill trees, and you’d also be able to use the vampire hunter’s weapons or armor.

I did this using Photon Editor v2. I used only one post-effect shader for this effect. I don't know what it could be used for, but I liked it. (translated with google :D)

I made something I'm making a fire powers mod — the flame has 2 visual styles, leaves scorch marks, and you can shoot it downward to hover

Hey everyone! I'm working on a fire bending-style mod called Elements & Fangs (Forge 1.20.1), and I'm stuck deciding which look the flame should have.

The video shows both versions of the level 1 Fire Stream:

- Style 1: redder flame

- Style 2: more yellow flame

Which one looks better to you? Does one feel more powerful, or easier to see in combat and during parkour? I could also keep both as a selectable option if people like them equally.

Other things in the clip: the fire leaves scorch marks on the ground, and shooting downward lets you hover in the air.

It's still in development, so there's no download yet. It will be free when it's out. Any feedback is welcome, even if it's about something else in the video!

Question LF a Modpack that focuses around big multiblocks.

As title says, my group enjoys working towards big multiblocks especially those that have custom animations and stuff and arent just a bunch of singular blocks together but actually fuse to make a structure.

Is there any modpacks that focus around making these throughout? Instead of just at the end.

Discussion All the origins mods

Hi, me and my buddies are doing origins server for our two weeks MC phase and he host asked if we want to add any origins, we agreed not to use flying or size changing origins (there were problems with lags and delays on server) and also dumped medival origins, I was playing valkierie on previous one I I really liked the smite on 3rd attack, playing also the palladin with the Rpg trees mod, so any recommendations on my playstyle, i wanna do a little PvP but also have fun from the game, there are just simply too many options so if anyone had any crazy interactions I would be interested i was thinking of good ol' blazeborn or sth similar with DMG boost

Question Gregtech layered inputs

Hey all. I am new to gregtech, and am having trouble with layered inputs. The quest book says to use the layered step detector, but I’m not sure what to do with the restore signal? My first thought was something overly complicated with project red. Is there a simple solution I’m missing?

Discussion I'm getting back into Minecraft modding. What would you like to see?

Hey!

I'm planning to get back into Minecraft modding, this time for Minecraft 26.3 on Fabric, but I'm still trying to figure out what I should actually make.

I don't really want to start working on a random idea just because it sounds cool. I'd rather make something that people would actually want to use, whether it's a small mod that fixes an annoying issue or something much bigger that adds new mechanics and gives players more things to do.

So I figured I'd ask here.

Is there anything you've wanted a Minecraft mod to do, but haven't found a good mod for yet? Maybe there's a vanilla mechanic that bothers you, a feature you think Minecraft is missing, or something that other mods have tried to implement but never quite got right.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be an improvement to something that already exists. I'm also interested in bigger ideas: new gameplay mechanics, complex systems, or mods that could offer a whole new experience. If there's a good reason to make something ambitious, I'm not against taking on a larger project.

Some examples of the kinds of things I'm talking about:

  • Quality of life: Little things that make the game less frustrating or more convenient to play.
  • Vanilla improvements: Reworking existing mechanics that feel underdeveloped, repetitive, or just not very fun.
  • New features: Things you wish were part of the base game, or mechanics you think would fit Minecraft really well.
  • Expansions to existing gameplay: More depth for exploration, combat, survival, building, automation, or whatever else interests you.
  • Larger projects: New systems, interconnected mechanics, or something that could significantly change how you play the game.

These are just examples, though. I'm not trying to limit the suggestions to any particular category.

One thing I'd ask is that, if you have an idea, please explain it a bit instead of just dropping a name or a one-line suggestion. What would the mod actually do? Why would you want to use it? And if similar mods already exist, what do you think they get wrong or what would you like to see done differently?

You don't need to write an entire design document, obviously. I'm just interested in understanding the idea and the reason behind it.

I haven't decided on anything yet, so I can't promise I'll make a particular suggestion. I'll need to look into existing mods and see what's already out there before choosing a direction.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think. What kind of mod do you feel Minecraft is missing, or what would you personally like to see someone make?

[[SOLVED]] There was an issue with a camera mod in the pack.

What mod is causing this? I am using Crazy Kitty's FNAF: MW Pack V5. I know this isn't the map because the map is my custom FNAF: Anniversary pizzeria remake. The shaders aren't the cause either since you can see the problem continuing even with shaders off. Pls help.

Problem Weird colored dots/lines when I move the camera holding a torch

• Upvotes

Hello, while playing with my Cobblemon modpack, I noticed that strange colored dots appear when I hold a torch; these turn into small colored lines when I move the camera.

I suspect the issue is related to the torch, as I tested several combinations (toggling shaders and VSync, with or without a torch in hand); the glitch only occurs when I have a torch in one of my hands. I also tried removing the *Enhanced Block Entities*, *BadOptimizations*, and *C2ME* mods, and disabled the "first-person" option in *LambDynamicLights*, but none of this resolved the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a potential fix I could try? Here are the performance/rendering mods

I am using:

- Sodium 0.8.13

- Sodium Extra 0.9.4

- Iris 1.8.14-beta.1 (shader: Complementary Reimagined r5.9.3)

- LambDynamicLights 4.8.11

- ImmediatelyFast 1.6.15

- Entity Culling 1.11.3

- Lithium 0.15.4

- FerriteCore 7.0.3

- ModernFix 5.25.1

- ScalableLux 0.1.0.1

- Dynamic FPS 3.11.4

- Chloride 1.8.1

- GPUMemLeakFix 1.8

- Farsight 4.5

- Visuality 0.7.7

- Particular 1.5.7

- (Removed during testing: Enhanced Block Entities, BadOptimizations, C2ME)
