My thoughts on the past week in brief:

2. Jenna J’s samba was a hip hop samba. Jenna J should go back to classics and prepare choreo as to be judged by Len.

3. Val’s comments and the reference were of poor quality.

4. Gleb showed what loyalty means. Also, (1) He correctly called “lift” – a “trick” (2) He correctly stated that Alan is not as good of a technician and as creative as Val is. (3) He rightfully raised the question why the troupe has not been given an opportunity to step in.

Predictions for today’s show:

Given this much discussed situation and comments in social media from the fans, press, and former pros, I expect an increased interest for the upcoming episode and high ratings!

Overall, I expect that the scores will be higher for everyone. I grouped the contestants as follows:

• I think Amber and Ezra will have the strongest routines and the highest scores.
• I expect a breakthrough for Harry. After Gleb’s challenge, expect a strong choreo for Jenna D by Alan, with possible contribution from Emma. I also very much look forward to Julia’s contemporary!
• I am very interested to see Maura's Paso, particularly what choreo Mark will come up with! Maura performed mostly standard dances (4/5). I would love to see her doing Samba later in the competition.
• Tatyana and Jan, as well as Tyler and Sharna will have the most sentimental stories. Gossip has it that Jan’s mom will be in the audience. Gossip has it that Tylor will announce his fiancé’s pregnancy.

I think that there will be no elimination tonight. If there is an elimination, I guess it is between Connor and Jackson…

I am super excited for tonight's dedication night episode. I predict a lot of tears at my house.

do you guys think there will be an elimination this week? they usually don’t send anyone home on dedication night (maybe once that i can remember), but with everything that happened this week, i could unfortunately see jenna dewan getting the lowest amount of viewer votes and production sending her home.

also, there are still 10 couples with only 5 weeks left. we might be getting a double elimination or two, and possibly a 5 couple finale!!?

I thought this was a really brilliant analysis by @PopCultureData and wondered what you guys thought about it. I think CAI’s bark is worse than her bite, she may not be nice in comments but her voting track record seems to show she scores with the other judges, especially with women, and goes just a bit softer with men.

Granted he has an amazing celeb/partner this season, but historically has not done *that* well. Do we think Pasha has maintained Pro status because of his wife Daniella? I feel like this season has so many standout stars at similar levels of dance ability and progress, so it’s hard to predict who will win. however, I think guillermo’s top 5 is pretty accurate imo 🙈 on this week’s dwts podcast, guillermo revealed that he thinks maura, harry, amber, jenna, and ezra will make the finale, later adding that ezra will win it all. do you think he’s right?

As the Val and Carrie Ann tension has slowly settled down, I began to think. In my opinion, if Jenna D and Jenna J don't make some sort of statement about this, then Jenna D or Harry could be at risk of being the next two stars eliminated. They aren't required to speak about it or make a statement, but their silence could ruin them going far in the competition. I also think Jenna D should just keep dancing with Alan or potentially bring in Sasha cause once Val comes back, her votes from the viewers will drastically go down, and that isn't fair to her.

I am not sure if anyone else is like me, but I was interested in the current celebs growth over the first 5 weeks. I summarized the comments to fit, but am working on a more in depth version per week.

seeing the twinge in her neck in week 5 makes me slightly worried that being in frame for 5 weeks is starting to affect her physically. constantly having to have hold a strong frame every day in rehearsals for 5 weeks can't be easy (i know my neck wouldn't be able to handle that).

are there any ballroom dancers on this sub who have ever had the same problem? or how do y'all think this will affect her as the weeks go on and the dances get harder?
