Constructive Criticism This should not be allowed
Ignoring the dubiousness of the "energy" concept, Duolingo should not allow you to start a lesson if you don't have the energy to complete. Diabolical.

These lessons just aren't effective the way they are currently being presented to learners.
At least, that's my experience with the Spanish course. There are 2 main problems with how they function right now:
1: Everyone speaks way too fast, so the learner struggles to catch everything that is said unless they replay the conversation multiple times.
2: There is no transcript for what is being talked about. So often, the characters in these lessons will be speaking about something, but I honestly can't keep up. Eventually, I'll get the answer correct to a question, but Duolingo won't offer a translation or explanation as to why I was correct (or incorrect)
That isn't a good way to promote learning. Right or wrong, you should get a text pop up on screen explaining why the answer you provided was the correct option.
I know someone is going to comment below stating that "you need to listen to a language being spoken at a fast pace to help learn it"
My argument against that is that everyone learns at different rates. I'm a casual learner, I don't need to be "tested" with fast spanish right now. I'd much rather have a 50% speed version of these lessons to match my progression. Let users who want to push themselves choose the faster version of these lessons.

Hi all!
Feeling ready for Halloween? đ Starting October 21, you can dive into Lilyâs Fright Fest and start collecting pieces to unlock a whole lineup of spooky new avatar suits.
Here's how it works:
â˘Hit your daily lesson goal and youâll get a mystery chest! Your goal can change from day to day, so check the event hub to see what you need to do.
â˘Open your chest to reveal one random piece from the collection of 45. If you keep getting duplicates, don't despair â collect 5 duplicates and we'll automatically trade them in for a piece you don't already have.
â˘Each piece helps complete a puzzle. Collect all 9 pieces in a puzzle to unlock a new suit. Finish all five puzzles and you'll get a limited-edition Halloween suit plus 3,000 gems! đ¤
If patience isn't your thing, you can also grab pieces directly with gems (regional and/or age restrictions apply). Once Fright Fest begins for you, the countdown is on: youâll have 30 days to collect everything.
And one last spooky warning: the grand prize is a limited-time treat that wonât return so grab it while you can before it vanishes into the night. đ
Happy haunting, happy collecting, and let us know what you think below! đť

Hey everyone! Iâd love to hear from people who have been using Duolingo for 2-3 years or longer. How much have you improved in your target language? Do you feel Duolingo has genuinely helped you, and was it worth the time? Please share your honest experiences! đ
Thank you :)

Really frustrating now having only 2 daily quests instead of 3. This is going to be rough if I continue having to do 70 points. It takes away the fun of it for me!

was anybody actually able to get all 54 pieces without using gems? i got my 4 pieces of every day of the juniorâs toy hunt and still wasnât able to get the 54 pieces.
just doesnât seem fair⌠& forcing us to use gems even when you already did the maximum

It used to tell you where you should be in the CEFR score, now it just has an example of what you should be able to do (read a story, watch TV, communicate at work). Are they backing out of the CEFR claim of reaching B1 (in Spanish anyway).

Now I might not be the brightest cookie in the cookie jar, but not once have I learned that ima is pronounced Ko or Kon. So can anyone explain why the AI is saying Ko(n) instead of ima?

Iâm so tired of seeing âcaffèâ and âtèâ being inserted into my units. Is there anyway I can tell that little green bird to stop doing that???
There is a ton of valuable vocabulary/ sentence structure from later units I would like a refresh on.
Also, f Duolingo for making me pay an entire year of super Duolingo in full. They make it seem like you pay on a month-to-month basis.
Ok, thatâs all. But, if I see âcaffè o tèâ one more time, I will spill burning âtèâ on me.
