Discussion I hate we didn’t get more content set on Neomuna
An extra strike or mission exploring a new part of the city would’ve been so nice to have

\An effort will be made to update this list once we know more, or see new questions pop up**
___
Q: Is the game worth getting back into?
A: Yes. The state of the game as of Monuments of Triumph is widely considered the best version of Destiny 2 we've had in a while. There is no content that will be removed. And, in the future, previously vaulted content will be returning!
Q: What is currently F2P/What is currently paid?
A: This post details that information as of September 2026.
Q: Linux?
A: Nope, sorry!
___
Q: What happened?
A: On September 21st 2026, Bungie announced that they will continue the Destiny Franchise & as a show of good will be unvaulting Destiny 2 content so that we have a complete game. You can read more here: bungie article or watch it here: youtube interview.
Q: What is being unvaulted?
A: The campaigns Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken. The destinations Titan, Io, Mercury, Mars, and the Tangled Shore. The Raids (sometime lairs?) Leviathan, Eater of Worlds, Spire of Stars, Scourge of the Past, and Crown of Sorrow. In addition, there will likely be several strikes and crucible maps that should also be returning. These are all that have been currently confirmed. We do not know if Seasonal content will be returned!
Q: Should I start now or wait for unvaulting?
A: This one is up to you. IF you want to experience the 'entire story' of destiny 2 from start to finish you could wait for unvaulting. The main reason to start now would be to get a head start on acquiring things that wont really be changing (filling out subclasses, acquiring exotics, acquiring 550 power). So, IF you'd rather have a head start, start now so you can focus on new things later.
Q: Will the unvaulting be F2P?
A: Yes.
Q: Will Holiday events be returning?
A: We don't know yet!
Q: Is Destiny 3 in development?
A: As of now, no, but Bungie have stated that the Destiny franchise will continue somehow.
___
Q: Why am I Light/Power Level 10?
A: During Edge of Fate, Bungie decided to give us a stat squish for the purposes of readability. You will notice that your damage numbers are now primarily below 5 digits as well, while in truth, you're usually dealing a higher % of damage than before due to new systems and stats like Weapons and Super. If you complete almost any activity you will be shot up to 300 power very quickly and will only have to grind up to the cap of 550. Its recommended that you infuse weapons you enjoy including exotics. However, old armor Is essentially useless and can safely be replaced with armor that has a Set Bonus. New exotic armor is also all higher stat than anything you previously had.
Q: I just came back to the game and I'm lost, what should I do?
A: This is an incredibly loaded question. Everyone has different priorities. The most common answer I've seen has been to complete the campaigns in order so you have an idea of the story and then to work on completing subclasses and filling out your exotics. By doing these three things you've enabled yourself to create basic builds.
Campaigns -> Unlock Subclasses -> Acquire Exotics/power grind -> Play whatever you want!
Campaign order as of September 2026:
Shadowkeep -> Beyond Light (Stasis Subclass) -> Witch Queen (peak) -> Lightfall (mid but Strand Subclass (peak)) -> The Final Shape (Prismatic) -> Edge of Fate (Nine Saga, which may be left behind) -> Renegades (The star wars crossover expac which includes the Praxic Blade aka Lightsaber)
Once unvaulted, the order will start with:
Red War -> Curse of Osiris -> Warmind -> Forsaken -> Shadowkeep...

After an outpouring of community support for the project, the previous decision to contain all Project Sunrise posts to a Megathread has been reversed. Go ahead and continue posting Sunrise stuff to the subreddit
Additionally, a "Project Sunrise" post flair has been added, please flair posts appropriately for community members who wish to filter by that content specifically.
Again, here's a link to the Project Sunrise Discord for anyone interested in following along there:

My heart has always belonged to ol’ Fatebringer, as I have more history with it going back to D1, but my mind kept telling me to give in to Midnight Coup as the superior kinetic hand cannon. I need people to tell me which one is actually better overall for all PvE.
Midnight Coup has a higher base ammo gen meter. I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything…
Fatebringer has 10 shots base while Midnight Coup has 12. Fatebringer has 53 ammo gen while Midnight Coup has 60. With abundant ammo, FB gets 65, MC gets 72. Bandolier gives FB 12 bullets and 60 ammo gen. MC gets 14 bullets and 67 ammo gen. Backup mag is a must have on FB for 14 shots but is literally worthless on MC. Yet another point for Midnight Coup.
You see the dilemma I’m having here? It’s so hard choosing which gun to main forever but the points I brought up showed me the that Midnight Coup pretty much mogs Fatebringer as far as ease of use while also being very capable in endgame content, not to mention having bonus grenade or melee energy regen, which I find generally more valuable than super energy. But the legacy and icon status of Fatebringer will never fade away.

I received my skimmer yesterday, and when I started opening the box I immediately saw the “1” sticky note. I paused for a few seconds, then went “nahhh” because I couldn’t possibly have gotten the first skimmer.
lo and behold, I get to the card… 001/500. when I tell y’all that I started hooting and hollering…
THANK YOU DESTINY 2

I'm still getting used to all the new things they have added since 2022 so I decided to get the renegades DLC (included in the collection bundle) having fun using the blade, so I'm glad I managed to get this color relatively easy, also curious if there are some non silver cosmetics for the blade

All I want to say is…
Boy have I been asleep on this game.
I know it has its rough edges and it can be a nightmare to get past the messy tutorial but my god… I have never had an experience like that.
The Raid was :- Garden Of Salvation (My first expansion was on the moon so I just defaulted to this raid first)
Ran with 5 New Lights and 1 Sherpa that was willing to keep quiet throughout the whole thing with 0 spoilers.
What a game. ❤️

Ive tried to interact with everything in the igloo and jumped around the area and nothing is happening. I traveled to the tower then back to see if the planet just needed to reload but that didnt work either

The huge amount of damage plus the visual animation is top of the line.
Void warlocks are the best!

This thing is an absolute snooze nowadays, nowhere near as difficult or engaging as when it first dropped. Tormentors and Subjugators just keel over and die instantly, and ever since Edge of Fate made it into 30 waves only (one of my most hated changes tbh), they unique wave 50 boss just flat-out doesn't spawn anymore. A basic Fireteam Ops is more difficult than Onslaught

I swear in every single raid team of a "mic required" group there's one person who texts through chat or is just straight non verbal.
This would be one thing if "mic required" groups were the majority, and so they have no choice. However the majority of posts are "mic not required"

Returning player here, I literally remember a time on destiny LFG where you would join a party and people would legit gjalla check you before running crotas end. My brother had horrible luck and it took forever for it to drop for him and he would literally get kicked from parties 😭😭😭😭😭 is it still that good?

title,
there's currently 33 total missions in the fireteam ops playlist, of these, 9 are currently battlegrounds however there is huge number of seemingly random exclusions.
for example
of the season of the chosen battlegrounds only hailstone is missing the other 3 are included
for season of the seraph: heist battlegrounds europa is missing
for season of defiance: is missing both defiant battlegrounds cosmadrome and orbital prison (they only kept one of the 3 from this season for some reason)
and the biggest one being season of the risen: where all 3 battlegrounds were randomly removed in the monument of triumph update
if we were to add back in all the missing battlegrounds it would bring the total fireteam ops playlist to 40 (and give a touch more variety in what enemies your fighting / and personally I never got to do the other ones from season of defiance and would like to do them)
as an aside whenever we get the strikes back from the returning unvaulted content, the fireteam ops playlist will increase to 42 (or 46 if we get legacy versions of arms dealer, exodus crash, lake of shadows, and inverted spire), so having both the returning strikes plus the missing battlegrounds would make the playlist be at 49(53) which I think would add a lot of variety and stop making it feel like I'm only playing the same few missions on loop.
also unrelated to the topic at hand but I'd love to see them update and include the nightmare hunts in the fireteam ops playlist at some point, along side some seasonal story missions (exp: the Quria mission from splicer)

I recently saw a short about how the guardians only beat Rhulk because of his hubris and belief that we are beneath him. He intentionally holds back in the fight limiting himself until he realizes, far too late, that he should've taken us more seriously.
This got me thinking about other raid/dungeon bosses that the guardians may have gotten lucky in defeating or shouldn't have defeated and that lead me to Riven. As far as I'm aware, Riven wanted us to kill her as part of her and savathun's plan, but from what I understand about the ahamkara abilities, she would be way out of our league.
