Edit: I was looking away while she changed the baby so I didn’t even notice it until she left. I told the flight attendant and he went and got who I’m assuming is the dad to come pick it up. I’m a thousand miles over the pacific in a plane. I’m not going to track a mother down and get into an altercation. I just let the fa deal with it.

Image/Video Paid for premium comfort plus upgrade and seat was knowingly broken

Hello community,

Wondering if anyone has idea on how I can remedy this. I paid for a cabin upgrade from delta comfort plus to premium comfort plus. Flight was LAX - NYC. When I boarded the plane the seat was taped up and the FA acknowledged they knew this was a broken seat before we boarded. She told me the flight was completely booked and the only available seat was in main cabin but if I changed your main they couldn’t guarantee a refund. They also did have free upgrades that were offered for FC and premium CP before boarding.

What is the best way to request the upgrade fee as I was unable to use my laptop or eat the meal I paid for.

I understand that seats break but feel that delta shd have made me aware of this before boarding, or not offered free upgrades to other people.

I’m Gold Medallion which I know doesn’t mean a lot but is there any legal standing here to get refunded for only the premium upgrade portion?

FWIW: the initial agent on board (not an FA) offered to move me to main but could t guarantee a refund. And asked if I wanted to hold up the plane for maintenance (hard no on my part!)

That said, the on-board FAs have been incredibly kind and sweet - and as a long time delta customer that has been my experience.

So I’m hopeful maybe Delta corporate will refund the upgrade fee only.

A great view of the world's busiest airport. Had to share. Really cool seeing airplanes land and take off from here.

Discussion Deplaned before takeoff due to a weapon.

We just deplaned from our flight MCI to ATL because "A weapon was found on the plane, which was removed, and now security needs to inspect the plane."

I'm confused about how this could happen. Seems highly unusual. Everyone had finished boarding and sat for maybe 10 minutes, and then this announcement was made.

That's it. No drama. No story. First time making medallion again after almost 20 years.

Because I'm based in ATL, I look forward to no upgrades. But I will enjoy the free baggage.

Discussion SEA to MSY

I noticed today that there is a direct route from SEA to MSY but only on February 10, 2027. I haven't found an opposite route before or after. What's up with this route? Are they testing a new route or is it a charter without enough seats to go private?

Discussion Two perfect flights in a row with limited service for ‘bumpy’

CVG - LAS Thursday announcement before takeoff that service is limited because bumpy air. Maybe 2-3 wiggles the whole flight. LAS - DTW today. Same bumpy announcement. I don’t think I’ve ever had a smoother flight.

Help/Advice First Diamond downgrade

I used a Regional Upgrade Certificate for a flight. I am Dialond Medallion. I was upgraded on flight day to First. Then, an hour before boarding, I was downgraded. It is a longish flight but not Delta One. The gate agents told me that the aircraft changed, and many people were downgraded. I showed them that was not true, and then they told me someone paid for my seat. I was livid. I ended up receiving several hundred dollars in certificates from Delta, but should I have asked for more?

Image/Video Seat Pads in Delta One

When did this start? Little pad by Missoni for more comfort up front. I always thought D1 seats were not the most comfy, but this definitely adds a lot of value. ATL > HNL

FYI, you CAN use it before takeoff, but you cannot hang it over the seat back until the plane’s in the air. Must remain loose from the seat while on the ground.

Matthew K with a Florida ID, we found your wallet on the floor at IAH today 10/18. They confirmed you were on board but the door had just closed so they were unable to get it to you. The agent said it would be mailed from the lost and found. Just wanted you to know!

Help/Advice Atlanta TSA precheck - switched carry on

Shot in the dark, but if anyone ended up on a trip with a switched Briggs And Riley black suitcase, I just got to my hotel and opened and saw it’s not my clothes. Identical bag - mine has a diamond tag on the side.

We likely switched at Atlanta Domestic South Precheck around 5:30 pm on Sunday Oct 18. DM me and we can swap bags?

Image/Video Plane change- what type of plane is this? 757-200v4?

Plane changed and it just says it’s a 757. Entire plane is 2 x 2 with only 19 rows.
The only 757 in this configuration I can find is the 757 200 v4 used for sport team charters?

Discussion First free upgrade

Having been flying with Delta for about 2.5 years now, it’s always just for fun/vacation. Got the reserve card so we could use the lounges. Anyways, finally made it to gold.

Flying to Mexico City tomorrow on Aeromexico and I got a surprising upgrade to premier class in a seemingly packed flight!

I have been on ~15 Delta flights and this is the first free upgrade I have ever received. I had one great mileage upgrade offer from PS to D1 in November but never anything truly free like this.

Is it likely due to the Gold status or flying Aeromexico that I got the upgrade? I am currently ~$1,500 from Platinum. This makes me wonder if its worth trying to take another trip before the new year and use the delta stays bonuses. Any thoughts?

Great organization, great communication, great attitude. It’s easy to complain when things go wrong, but it’s important to sing the praises of those who are doing a fantastic job! Thanks Courtney!

Help/Advice Upgrade cost from SLC to AMS

I booked SLC to AMS in the main cabin for traveling in mid November 2026. At the seat selection page, I was asked for an upgrade to Delta One (A330-900neo I believe) for 1299 USD. Is it a good price for this route or generally lower to upgrade? There’s no option to upgrade to PE. Thank you for the input.

Help/Advice A321neo rows 19 and 20 are comfort+ now?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I’m an otherwise frequent flier who didn’t fly much for the past few months due to health reasons. I mostly fly the A321neos quite and my go-to was 20A or 20F which were free for me due to status. I booked a flight and was surprised they’re marked as comfort+ seats now? When did this change? Is it all A321neos or just a few on the fleet?

Help/Advice Flying with dog to CVG

Hello, I’m flying with my dog to CVG airport. I’m a bit concerned because Delta Airlines has stated that I didn’t need any documentation. As long as I pay the fee and my dog fits inside the carrier, everything should be fine. However, I checked with my destination airport today, and they require an Interstate Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) and a Rabies Vaccination Certificate (NASPHV Form #51). The problem is that I have a week before my flight, and while my dog is in good health and fully vaccinated, I don’t think I’ll be able to get the CVI in time. I know that flying normally, you don’t interact with airport staff after TSA, and if the airline is not requiring the documentation, they probably won’t check it. But at the same time, I don’t want to get detained at the gate and miss my trip. Does anyone have any experience or clarity about this? The rule is new, like within the last month, which is why I missed it because this trip has been booked for a few months now.

Ohio Code: https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-administrative-code/rule-901:1-17-05

P.S the airport is named Cincinnati, but it’s technically in Kentucky state so I’m not sure who really governance the airport

Discussion Help with reservation

Hey y’all. Anyone who works in reservations that can give me some insight to this issue would be greatly. Tomorrow I’ll be flying from Mexico to Denver with a layover in SLC. My grandmother is very ill and is in intensive care, she just so happens to live in the SLC area. Contacted Delta to see if it’s possible for me to drop my last flight to Denver and stay with my grandma there and that I could provide any documentation if needed. I have heard from others that posted on here that Delta does do this. However the representative I talked to told me that there needed to be an extra fare collection to just drop the last flight on the reservation even though I told her that I’d pay for my own way home on a later date. What should I do? Should I try talking to a different reservation specialist? This was through message so would they be able to see that I tired before with a different reservation specialist through chat history? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Help/Advice Flight from Raleigh to CA

I have a flight from Raleigh to San Diego (landing at 11:30 pm), with a layover in LAX (landing at 9:45 pm). I live in between lax and San Diego. My company would not pay for the direct lax flight due to it being above $500, and would only pay for the layover flight as it was $150. Is there anyway I can just hop off after LAX?
