I just got my last assignment back. The feedback just reads like AI slop.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Im studying education

Hi everyone! I’m taking these units this coming T3! I wanted to know everyone’s opinions on the class, workload and how the basic classes ran!! Thank you ˙ᵕ˙

I’m about to start the first year of my Bachelor of Communications in trimester 3. I am just confused what my options are for my elective unit and what my choices are for my second minor sequence. I am completing my course online and this is all very alien to me. Just looking for some clarification on what my choices are, if anyone could help. Thanks

I received an email about potentially applying to become a pass leader for a unit that I excelled in. However, there seems to be a lot of commitment that comes with the position. Has anyone had previous experience being a pass leader, and if so, could you please tell me how you managed/found it :)

Is there any website or video I can watch during the 4 months break before going to uni?

Thank you so much

Hi guys, for both of my classes I completely forgot to do the peer reviews and they closed on the 29th. What will happen to me now? Will they fail me for this unit. I am extent stressed

I am a current student doing my BA in Religious Studies at another university, online.

Google search finds Deakin to be the leading university for this course however, when I look at the handbook it seems very...well, theological rather than extensive and broad. Can anyone currently enrolled in this course please confirm whether this assumption is correct, or if I am way off?

Secondly, what do the assessments involve?

Ours has "assurance" tasks, which are either supervised exams or video interviews. I am fully aware of the need for verification but, I am a hobbit. I left the corporate, intricate human interaction world after a life changing event, moved off grid, and work in agriculture, all to have as little contact with other humans as possible - for my own wellbeing.

I really do not want to participate in group assessments or video interviews, and would prefer to have very little requirement in attending supervised exams.

Don't worry, I'm not after your jobs upon graduation, I have a job and the life I want. This is purely for my own fascination and one day, maybe, to write a book

Hi everyone,

I am considering taking one of the following units in T3 and was wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on content load, support, assignments, if the class can be taken fully online and etc?

• ALR103 - Introduction to Public Relations
• ALL153 - Literature for Children and Young Adults

Thanks :)

I applied for on-campus accomodation for 2027, and im a bit confused since they said my application wouldn’t be complete until i upload proof of enrolment or something like that? but i wont know if i can enroll until VTAC offers come out. does that mean my accomodation application cant be completed until then?

Hi, I want to study med imaging next year, and I am aware that an interstate placement is required.

Are there any students here who know how many weeks this interstate placement would last?

Yo,

Has anybody spoken to a student adviser / student central and found mapping out their degree useful?

I do commerce and work full time so understanding what subject to do and when is spinning me, is it best to go speak to a student adviser?

Any feedback would be great

3rd year cell bio and genomics/ chem student looking for a pt/casual job related to my degree!

The uni website for jobs only has placements and nothing else

Hi what are the chances of me receiving an offer for a bachelor of medical imaging at Deakin uni as an applicant from Monash University with a decently high wam for sem 1

Hi everyone, i’ve recently taken an online assessment that is unsupervised. I’ve use the command + C feature to copy some of the questions so i can research more about it later due to the time restrictions and to see if i can pass my current answer i wrote in the assessment as a good answer. You know, to evaluate and see how well i’ve done in the exam before the results are released. All of the sudden it occurred to me that it could be flagged as me copying and pasting things into an AI platform. Now i’m overly paranoid, could anyone tell me if they flag it? or am i okay?

Theoretically

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m creating a space for Deakin University 2027 PhD scholarship applicants to connect, share application updates, discuss ResearchPoint status and scores, and exchange information about RTP/DUPRS scholarships.

If you’ve applied, please comment with your school/department and current application status. Let’s help each other stay informed!

If I’m applying for special considerations due to medical reasons, is it okay to submit a normal medical certificate from the gp or does it have to be the Deakin one. Some of the gp’s I’ve been too are not interested in completing that long from or they’ve even asked money for it 😭

So I was hoping submitted the normal med cert would be fine.

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how often you need to go into campus per week approximately for a bachelor of nursing/midwifery? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m planning to pursue a Master’s in Sports Management at Deakin. How are exams conducted in this course? Are there traditional written exams, or is it mostly assignments, presentations, and group projects? Would love to hear from current students about their experience!

I'm 0.5% away in raw marks from the next rung on the grading ladder for one of my units🥲 (79.5 - just short of a HD overall). Is there a way to appeal this and try to get awarded the extra marks?

Or should I assume this gets rounded up since the transcript is to 2 sf?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone who has experience with internal course transfers at Deakin, particularly into a Law double degree.

I'm planning to study the Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin in Trimester 3, 2026, with the goal of internally transferring into the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws double degree for Trimester 1, 2027.

My concern is the timing. Deakin's T3 results are scheduled to be released on 25 February 2027, while T1 classes start on 1 March 2027. The course transfer application deadline is also before the T3 results are released.

I'm wondering whether Deakin would allow me to submit my transfer application while my results are pending and then assess it once my marks come out. Alternatively, is it possible to receive conditional approval based on meeting the required WAM.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and were you able to apply before results were released?

Has anyone managed 5 HDs in a trimester? Or is it unrealistic?

In any course.
