Hi guys,
I've read the thread about the display damage but I do not think my issue is 100% there.
I am a dumb dumb and I have carried my monitor with my carry on luggage and did not pay enough attention to it (obviously). I guess due to the pressure or something, now I have flickering, coloured dots on my screen. It's not my PC related as the Asus logo on startup when there is no connection to the pc is also suffering from this issue.
I know the answer is probably to get a new one or use this one on the side as a second monitor, but do you guys think it's somewhat recoverable? How fucked am I?

Have an old Toshiba MK4026GAX and can’t seem to figure out what reader I need to get into it. I have standard IDE/SATA readers but the pins in this HD seem to not be separate from a center plastic plate. Not sure what I could do from here. Pictures for reference.

I have a Samsung Odyssey G9, 3 years old just out of warranty of course.
Turned it off to go on holidays which I rarely turn the PC off.
Come home turn it on and now the display just stays backlit and briefly flashes on shown in video clip.
Plans to change from a display port to HDMI, but I don't believe it's an input issue.
PC did do an update before turning it off. I selected update and turn off. So this is first time turning on after update
Do you think it can be fixed or just get a new one?

So this started happening about a month and a half ago when I had to move my computer into a different room and back.
This is a prebuilt and does use AIO.
Does anyone know what’s wrong and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hello guys, I was messing with regedit to delete some keys and stupidly enough, accidentally deleted (and clicked yes) while having the SOFTWARE folder selected, and just panicked. The monitor turned black (mouse still visible) and i decided to force shut my pc off since nothing was responding. Now I’m doing a system restore from 2 days ago. Turning the PC on results in a BSOD with CRITICAL PROCESS DIED error. Freaking out right now, is my PC boned?

When I first got this monitor around 2 years ago, I had never really paid attention to it to notice but I think either this was already there right from the beginning or it was just less noticeable back then and lately I started noticing it felt like it started expanding more and more into the screen despite how small of a space it takes up in the corner of my screen, I started noticing it in the top right and bottom left of the corner of my screen too (but my bottom right is fine), I went and look through old photos and noticed the top right corner of my screen in old photos didn't have them before but they do now, does anyone know what could be causing them and if there is a fix for it? Feels like my monitor is really new and my prior history with 2-3 of my older monitors I've never had any issues with them and had used them for far many years more than this current one I'm using.

I’m from South Asia (Sri Lanka) and trying to decide between these two refurbished machines.
Mac Mini M4 Pro – 24GB RAM, 512GB SSD – $1,120 (LKR 348K)
ASUS TUF A16 – Ryzen 7 260, RTX 5070 8GB, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD – $1,530 (LKR 475K)
Both are refurbished, and these are the local prices here.
I’m an AI/ML engineer, but most of my daily work involves Python, Docker, AI agents, Playwright browser automation, and running automated YouTube workflows (video generation, editing, rendering, etc.).
I also want to experiment with image-based model training and do some occasional gaming. Currently, I only have a PS4.
The Mac Mini is about $410 cheaper, but the RTX 5070 would give me CUDA support and much better gaming performance.
I’m looking for something that can handle multiple automated workflows running throughout the day and last me at least 4–5 years.
Would you go with the Mac Mini and use cloud GPUs when needed, or spend the extra money on the ASUS?
Would appreciate some opinions, especially from anyone using either machine for similar workloads.

I turned on my pc today to download a game on steam and noticed the download speed was stuck at 0. I was getting around 200Mbps yesterday, and i did not play with any settings that would affect my computers wifi at all. I looked at task manager to see that i was getting no more than 1Mbps at the absolute highest. I then did a speed test through the app and saw that my speeds looked normal on it. Websites all load at normal speeds, but task manager and steam show basically no internet connection.
I have tried unplugging and replugging my router, forgetting and reconnecting to the wifi, restarting my pc, a bunch of various commands, and updating my drivers and nothing has changed.
Anyone know whats going on or how to fix it?

I have a question regarding humidity and my PC. My bedroom has a sliding door that leads to the bathroom however, I never use this door, as there is another entrance to the bathroom from the hallway. Because of this, I’ve set up my PC in the bedroom right next to that sliding door (next to my bed). I’ve noticed that after I take a shower, the humidity level as shown on the meter I keep near my PC goes up. How risky is this, and should I be concerned? Or should I move my setup elsewhere?
around 60 to 70% it is often for a period of 1 to 4 hours after shower

Can anyone tell me why, on recent startups, occasionally I get this instead of my normal login screen?

Helloo! First of all, english is not my first language so please bear with me. My laptop has this issue where whatever I do, it seems as though the shift key has been permanently pressed. Every letter I pressed registers in capslock. Even numbers, it detects special characters that corresponds to the keyboard key that comes wirhwith the number.
The same issue occurs even when I use the OSK (On Screen Keyboard). Literally, everything that I do has the shift key pressed, whether it may be searching a site in google and whenever I press enter, it goes in a new window instead of just simply searching it on the tab. I already had my shift key off in the Accessibility. What do you guys think is the problem? TYIA!

"Hey everyone,
This morning when I pressed the power button to turn on my PC, it tripped the circuit breaker (fuse). I heard a sparking sound and crackling coming from the case, but there was no burning smell. I tried turning it on a few times afterwards, but it's completely dead.
I took out the 3.5-inch HDD inside and connected it to a USB-to-HDD adapter, but it won't spin up or work at all (though when I plug in another 2.5-inch HDD, the adapter works fine).
Can I save/recover this HDD? Also, what are the chances that my GPU, RAM, CPU, and motherboard are also dead?
Has anyone experienced this before? Could you please help?"

So I have a friend who is challenged at reading. He will download a program, and, because he can't read,he just clicks yes on everything that pops up.
And now he's getting all kinds of nasty pop-ups on his computer.
What would you suggest as a cleaner? He has an older computer, that's all I know.
Thanks!

A few days ago, I purchased and set up a prebuilt Ryzen PC, a Philips Monitor & some speakers from Amazon (specs at the bottom) Since I first started it up, it didn't work.
First is the issue with the graphics/resolution. For whatever reason, almost everytime I restarted the thing, the resolution would drop to 640. Everything would be super zoomed in and pixelated & unusable. I figured out that my PC was switching to the backup/microsoft graphics. The PC's graphics had a little yellow triangle and wouldnt work. My solution was to delete it & restart the PC so it would reinstall the graphics, which worked. But i'm worried about the problem coming back.
Then the second problem, The speakers. They worked fine at first, for a day and a few hours, and then suddenly started making this weird staticy sound. It's like buzzing and static. When I turn the volume down, the buzzing gets quieter, and if I turn the speakers off or unplug them, it stops. All audio continues to play, it just is alongside the static and I can't stand it. I know the ports are clean and everythings plugged into the right place.
And now the thing that makes it unusable. The Monitor keeps randomly going black and then saying No Video Input. I know it's plugged into the right place, because my PC has a big yellow sticker that tells me where to plug it in!!! I used the HDMI cord that came with it and when the problem continued, I bought a brand new Display Port Cord. The problem continues no matter what cord I use. The monitor is still on & the buttons on it work, and the PC is still on too, it's just black. The only way to get the screen back is to turn the PC off and on again. Then I log into the computer and after about 1 minute, with no tabs or anything open, it goes black and No Video Input. If I factory reset the computer, it'll give me more time between the blackouts (10-15 minutes ish) and then eventually go back to turning off immediately after logging in.
I've tried every solution. I literally bought this thing three days ago, and I spent 7 hours the first day trying to fix it, then another 5 the next day. Then I gave up, turned it off, and I haven't turned it on since. Should I take it to Best Buy & see if they can fix it? Is it broken? Did I buy a brick?
Link to the monitor, PC and speakers below.
I really don't wanna give up on this thing. It was so fkin expensive.

I know it's not the best, I just need to know if it's capable, and if it's a huge headache getting it to work right.
For context it would be for my son who is 9 and is used to gaming on a ps4. It would probably be used primarily for fortnite, forza, GTA, cod... Typical mainstream games you'd find on a console.
I'd be pairing it with a ryzen 5 5500x3d on a b550 chip set.
I'm not looking for top of the line, I'm looking for capable on a budget , and asking for real user experience, not just specs

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out because I'm completely stuck 🙏
My PC (Corsair 750W, Ryzen 5 gen 3, RTX 3070, 16GB) has been acting up for about 2 weeks now, and it's slowly getting worse.
At first, it would just freeze once an evening, and a quick restart would fix it. Then it started freezing after gaming sessions when I was just chilling on Discord VC. Now, my monitors often lose signal completely or won't turn on at all. Sometimes taking out one display cable lets one monitor turn on, but it's totally random.
If I force shut down, it usually gets worse, and I have to fully unplug the power cables from both the PC and the monitors. Sometimes the screens won't turn on for 10 boot attempts in a row. A power flush sometimes helps it boot up, but then it just freezes again randomly after 2 to 10 minutes. But when in voice call i can still hear and my mic will also work. But the games will shut down in the sense If I play Minecraft I will auto leave the world when in freeze. Also getting unstuck is only done by rebooting.
Here is what I've already tried:
Used DDU to uninstall drivers (first time in normal mode crashed, second time in Safe Mode worked). Reinstalled via Nvidia App and also tried NVCleanerstall. Swapped my old power supply for a brand new Corsair 750W. Checked temps (no overheating at all) and ran sfc /scannow.
While typing this post, I actually got a Windows error for the first time, so now I'm starting to think it might be a Windows/OS issue rather than hardware (see photo) after this screen I’m just having the same issues and I’m thinking this part is more cause and not reason.

This recently started happening about a month ago, not sure what started causing it but malware keeps blocking access to america-ship.com, claming that google chrome is trying to reach out to it. I don't have any extensions and haven't even used that site.
Google says that the site is a shipping, legit site that is sometimes used by retailers. Anybody else have any experience with this?

Hi, I've been searching for information, but the keywords are making difficult to find what I need. And, what do I need? the right info before screwing things up. Please before posting, read the details that describe the issue first ✌

What's the problem: my Dell E2016HV 19.5 LED Monitor shows a dark shadow on the lower right spot. I'm clear this is a led problem, that part is not emitting any light. It looks exactly like the picture inserted above.
Can I fix it?: in theory, yes, I've fixed screens like that before 👍 by fixing loose cables, or replacing the LED strips.
Then why don't you fix it?: In this case, after opening the monitor, I couldn't find any space for led strips, it seems as if the whole screen is glued together. I don't know, because further tear down seems a way to ruing it, and I decided to FIRST ask for opinions and advice, perhaps someone with experience may tell me that I should dare to continue, or don't, because there are certain kind of screens that can't be entirely tear down. I have tried to search the web for info, details and difference on LED screens, but the keywords are difficult to get me the right information, all I find is what I don't need.
Yes, I already read the link suggested by reddit as I write this post, but my case is not listed there.
Any info will be appreciated.
Just to make it clear: I have seen the guts of diff screens, some having led strips on the top and bottom; some on the side, left and right; some on the back, but this one is packed, and thin, and I don't see any leds glued.
