Some good starter tips would be to,
- State what laptop you are interested in buying (if applicable)

Help How do you keep them in one piece
I recently got a dell 14 plus 2 in 1 and its all good and fast
but the problem is i came from a Thinkpad t430 so the build quality for me is so bad i treat it well and everything, but that thing is so delicate the touchpad has already sunken from one side (the right side)
In addition the laptop it self bends like crazy when holding with one hand to a point whereit stimulates the click of the touchpad
Also the keyboard bends like crazy when typing and the screen jiggles alot while typing as well
Judging by the build quality the specs will last 10+years when the physical laptop will last about 3 or 4 years max

Help Dell, Is This Really How You Treat Your Customers? My Laptop Suddenly Died and I Can’t Even Reach Your Support.
I never thought I would have to write something like this about a company as big as Dell, but here I am — frustrated, stressed, and honestly feeling completely helpless.
I purchased my Dell Inspiron laptop on March 23, 2022, trusting Dell’s reputation for quality and reliability.
The laptop was working normally, and then it suddenly shut down without any warning. No physical damage, no liquid damage, no misuse. Just a perfectly functioning laptop that suddenly became completely unusable.
After trying to diagnose the issue and seeking technical assistance, I was informed that it could be a motherboard-related failure.
And now comes the most disappointing part: Dell’s customer support.
I’ve been trying to contact Dell through every available channel, but:
Live Chat: The chat option is unavailable, and I cannot connect with a support representative.
Basic Support: The support options appear to be disabled or unavailable for my product.
Phone Support: I’ve tried calling Dell’s support numbers from Qatar, but I cannot get through.
Email Support: The website tells me that email support is not available for my product.
Dell, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET HELP?
You are one of the biggest computer manufacturers in the world, yet I cannot even find a working way to speak to a real human being about my broken laptop.
I’m currently a student and unemployed. I don’t have a steady income, and I genuinely cannot afford an expensive motherboard replacement or a new laptop.
This laptop was a significant investment for me. I took care of it, and I expected it to last. Now I’m left with a completely dead machine and no accessible support.
I’m not expecting electronics to last forever, and I understand that warranties have limitations.
But does an expired warranty mean a customer no longer deserves basic assistance or the opportunity to speak to a support representative?
That’s what hurts the most.
I’m not asking Dell to ignore its policies. I’m asking someone to listen, investigate what happened, and consider helping a customer who is genuinely struggling.
My request to Dell:
Please have a senior customer relations representative or manager review my case.
I’m requesting a complimentary goodwill motherboard repair, or if that isn’t possible, assistance with a replacement or another affordable solution.
At the very least, please give me a working support channel and a real person who can review my situation.
I can provide my purchase invoice, diagnostic details, photographs, and service information privately to an official Dell representative.
Dell, your customers are human beings. We save money, trust your products, and expect support when something goes wrong.
I genuinely hope someone from Dell sees this post and helps me find a solution.
Has anyone else experienced a sudden Dell motherboard failure or received a goodwill repair after their warranty expired?
I would really appreciate any advice, especially from people who have successfully escalated a case to Dell’s management.
Location: Doha, Qatar
Laptop: Dell Inspiron
Purchase Date: March 23, 2022
I can share my Service Tag privately with verified Dell support representatives.

Help Any way to identify an old Dimension 4400?
All I have left from my mother's old Dimension 4400 is the manual, keyboard, and mouse. The manual has the service tag and express service code written in it but neither yield results on Dell's website. It just says "service tag not found". I don't have a serial number unfortunately. Any way I can figure out what specs this specific machine shipped with? (besides the default base configuration/options it came with)
Service tag: BTLDF11
ESC: 257-340-227-41

Help This Dell Inspiron from 2016
So this bad boy now has just one USB port left functioning, the rest are non functional. Wonder what the problem is and how to fix and what it would cost to fix. I love it too many good memories.
Everything else still functional though, runs windows 10 pro , thinking of switching to Linux .

Help I cant shut down and i cant power on while charging
I have a Dell Precision 5540 and it’s behaving strangely: if the laptop is charging, it won’t respond to the power button at all after being shut down (it won’t turn on). Conversely, if it’s running on battery power, it turns itself back on about 20 seconds after being shut down. Maybe someone had the same problem and cant help me?

Help Can anyone explain to me what this error code means?
Can this still be saved? I still need to use this old laptop for college work but I can't replace the hard drive anytime soon. I already had problems woth it before but was able to save it then. I cant replicate the same results back then as of now. Bcdboot was able to fix it last time I had trouble with it but it seemed to have failed and startup gives the error code 0x000001.
XPS Discussion Dell xps m1710
Hi, I have a question. I recently found a Dell XPS M1710, but it wouldn't display the screen. I concluded that the graphics card was faulty. However, my attention was drawn to the fact that there are LEDs in the laptop's case, speakers, and fans. They have cables running to the motherboard. However, they aren't connected anywhere because the motherboard lacks connectors to which they could be connected. I also noticed that the U26 chip and components around the LED connectors are missing. Do I have an inferior version of this Dell, or what's the problem? Is there any way to solder the missing components so that the laptop's LEDs will work? The motherboard is an LA-2881P.

Help Could you please help? I need a photo of the back side of a Dell Precision 3260 Compact motherboard.
I’ve posted here more than once, hoping that someone might finally be able to help me! But several weeks have gone by with no result. I need some good photos of the back of the motherboard, as well as a photo of what’s underneath the sticker on the riser! I’ve marked the area I’m interested in with a square.

Dell WH5024 earpiece snaps off - not covered under warranty
I bought this headset because I love the flip-to-mute mic, but the build quality is awful.
The plastic piece that connects the left earpiece to the headband broke off after about 7 months. Since I use it every day for work, I couldn't wait around, so I bought a second one (and actually got a third as a backup). 8 months later, the second one snapped in the exact same spot.
I called Dell to explain that two identical headsets breaking in the exact same place has to be a design defect, but they refused to help. Even after sending photos and escalating to higher-level tech support, they just kept repeating that it’s "wear and tear."
If you use a headset daily, avoid this one. The flip-to-mute is great, but the plastic joints just don't hold up.

Help I have a problem with an old Dell laptop
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 that has had a problem for years: the screen doesn't turn on, and when I connect a VGA cable to a monitor, the image appears with distorted colors and low resolution. Today, as an experiment, I installed Windows 10 (it had always run Windows 7), and magically, the image on the monitor appeared with good resolution and no color errors; however, when I go back to using Windows 7, it still looks just as bad. Also, sometimes the screen lights up white but eventually turns black and displays no image at all. Does anyone know what the problem might be and if there is a solution?

Help Fingerprint scanner issues
Yesterday, my fingerprint scanner suddenly stopped working after a reset. I've installed all the latest drivers and updates from both windows and dell. I've followed instruction from windows troubleshooters and from people here on reddit who helped solve a similar issue. (e.g from u/porcelainPrimate https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/1wokbe4/comment/pcda7rz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button )
I've also added a video of the issue:

Dell Pro Max 16 Plus vs Pro Precision 5 16 vs HP ZBook X G1i vs Z Book X G1i
*ZBook X Gi1 vs ZBook Fury G1i*
*Sorry for the typing mistake*
Hey there
I am currently looking for a new workstation laptop. I did some research and I am into the 4 machines mentioned above.
My workload is mostly big CAD Drawings with AutoCAD and Vectorworks but also real-time 3d rendering for some previz stuff of Lighting designs for festivals.
The rest of my workload are some exel sheets and sometimes light editing in photoshop and premiere pro.
Battery lifetime should be not under 7h for basic office work.
Currently I’m using a ZBook Fury 15 G7 and a Macbook Pro M1 pro but I’m not quite happy with the mac for various reasons.
Does somebody have some experience with the machine’s mentioned above or can even give some other examples ?
I would appreciate any thoughts
