i have a Dell Prescision 5550 with a bad battery that lasts 20 mins max and suddenly the laptop doesnt want to turn on this morning and the cable has the light, but it doesnt even show up the keyboard lights like before, now its nothing. HELP ASAP!!!!!

I have this issue with my Dell G3 gaming laptop.

The keyboard lights up, the fans power on but I have no display and this continuous flashing on the charge port. I have scoured high and low for advice but can't really nail anything down, anybody had anything similar?

How much should the laptop battery drains while turned off? Mine drains up to 45% of its battery in 24hrs. Is that normal? Does anyone else have this model and experience similar thing?
I have already disabled fast startup and every other thing dell recommends to do in this situation and nothing worked.

I have a dell G15 5530 for 2 years now, and recently i sent it to repaste de thermal pads on cpu and gpu, but now the cpu is reaching 100ºC easy, at any app or games. When i realized that, i spoke to the tecnician again and ask him to repaste again, he did it, but i dosnt lowered the temperature. I read some posts about that same problem here and some people told that i was normal for a gamer notebook, so i dont know what to think.

I saw some videos on YT, people testing this same notebook on games, and even on a heavy game the cpu reach about 75- 80 ºC.

And i also use a ventilated base

Hi, I couldn’t find an answer for this. My plan (see picture):

• Dell U4025QW, one PC, two physically separate halves (2560×2160 each)
• GPU: RTX 5070 Ti, OS: Arch Linux (KDE, Wayland)

Option A: PBP with two cables (DP + HDMI)
Option B: iMST over a single DP cable

Questions:

1. Do both halves run at 120 Hz in PBP, or does it drop to 60 Hz?
2. Does iMST (DP only) work on Linux with an NVIDIA GPU?
3. Does iMST also reach 120 Hz per half?

My dell inspiron 14 5425 is giving me 0 display out no matter what I do. When I turn it on, the keyboard backlight lights up, the fan spins, and then after a few seconds the fan stops, the backlight is still on, and there is no led error code.

I have tried:
- using an external monitor (no display)
- disconnecting battery and restarting
- re seating the ram
- booting to bios with no ssd
- booting with one ram stick (tried both sticks in both slots)
- bios recovery (ctrl + escape) from ssd
- bios recovery from usb drive with bios file

I have not tried to reset the CMOS yet since I couldn’t figure out how to unplug the coin cell battery. Could this potentially fix the issue or is it more likely to be a motherboard issue that I can’t fix by myself?

Hi, looking for some advice on my dell G5 5000 PC, Its been periodically failing to boot giving 2 amber 3 white (no ram detected), after trying each ram stick individually its likely not the problem. Ive taken it to a service center twice and for some reason when its plugged in there it somehow immediately works with no issues. I take it home and its fine for a few days before the issue reappears.

After further testing i suspect it could be a motherboard issue or psu but more likely the motherboard.

Any advice on how to deal with this issue?

I went to best buy recently and was looking at all the dell laptops, and is it me or do they feel more cheap?

Like the plastic poly carbonate laptops had a lot of flex, and you can tell when you push on the lids that the hinges use a lot of plastic parts rather than real metal plates, like they were designed to brake off after a couple thousand bends.

Essentially what I am trying to get at, the laptops are now even more planned with faster obsolescence than before.

Does anyone else also feel like this, whats everyone's thoughts on dell quality as a whole?

The left side fan fails and it gets extremely hot even when I run an external fan underneath. Getting error-code 2000-0712. I am concerned whether this could be a non-fan issue, perhaps with the motherboard or GPU. I am planning to open and check the vents. If the fan needs replacement I found this on Amazon. Do you recommend any other fans, possibly from Dell.com? Purchased 3 years ago so no longer under warranty. I am located in US/Canada. TY

I keep getting McAfee pop-ups in Chrome saying my computer is corrupted and needs a virus scan, but when I check my settings, it says everything's fine and there's no security risk. Which one is correct?

This is the 7420 I got issued, after a little over two years of actual work being done, this is what she looks like.

I haven't ever dropped her, nor does she has a single scratch, but the keyboard has melted beneath my fingers and the paint started pealing off.

I just got her a new battery, it's still running just as good as the first day.

But it's such a shame she was clearly designed for failure.

I use this docking station with my MacBook Pro but cannot update the docking firmware on a Mac laptop. Dell states that a Windows laptop is required for the update. Has anyone successfully updated its firmware using a Mac?

J’ai récupéré un Dell G3 15 3500 avec un Intel Core i7, 16 Go de RAM et un SSD. Je voudrais installer Linux dessus pour en faire un serveur Minecraft Java + Bedrock.

Le problème, c’est que l’écran interne ne fonctionne plus et que sa nappe est actuellement débranchée. Mon budget est très limité, donc je voudrais éviter de remplacer l’écran ou la nappe.

Voici la situation :

- Le PC s’allume.

- Je peux accéder au menu bleu de récupération de Windows.

- Je peux sélectionner « Utiliser un périphérique » pour démarrer sur ma clé USB.

- Ma télé ne reçoit aucun signal HDMI au démarrage : je ne vois même pas le logo Dell.

- J’ai essayé d’accéder au BIOS depuis « Dépannage » → « Options avancées » → « Changer les paramètres du microprogramme UEFI », mais je ne vois toujours rien sur la télé. Je ne peux donc pas accéder visuellement aux réglages du BIOS.

- Lorsque je lance l’installation de Zorin OS depuis la clé USB, un message me demande de désactiver Intel RST. Je suis donc bloqué à cette étape.

Mes questions :

1. Peut-on forcer l’affichage du BIOS sur HDMI sur un Dell G3 15 3500 ?

2. Existe-t-il une méthode pour accéder aux réglages du BIOS sans écran interne fonctionnel ?

3. Peut-on désactiver Intel RST autrement ou installer Linux sans modifier ce réglage ?

4. Existe-t-il une solution gratuite ou peu coûteuse pour contourner ce problème sans remplacer l’écran ni la nappe ?

Mon objectif est simplement de réutiliser ce PC comme serveur Minecraft Java + Bedrock.

I bought the dell 7420 used on amazon. It arrived like new with 86% battery health. The speakers had issues, they were distorted. I bought new ones on ebay. The replacement wasn't too difficult, however threading the cable on the chassis wasn't fun. Now my laptop feels brand new. Overall im very satisfied with this laptop for $265 on amazon you can't go wrong. Love the thunderbolt 4 and gen4 nvme.

Basically the title. This is from microless global store. Even asus expertbook and xps 14 with x7 358h costs more than US$3100.

I am going to order this to another country, that's why I'm cautious. It would be harder to claim warranty. Plus if anything happens to the laptop after 1 year warranty, I'm fked.
