Self Promotion I built FlowGrab, a video downloader for Chrome and Firefox

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on FlowGrab for months, a browser extension that lets you detect and download videos directly from the page you’re browsing. If you are a content creator or you daily download videos to use in your edits you can download videos and audio with one click from your screen.

It’s currently free and available on Chrome and Firefox. The Opera version is also submitted and waiting for approval.

I’d love to get some feedback from people trying it out. If you find a bug or have a suggestion, let me know!

Keep in mind i still making changes in this web app.

The Chrome Version currently doesn't support YT video downloads cause they own the platform. It works fine in every other platform like X(twitter), instagram, Reddit and every other site that has embeded videos.

The Mozilla and Opera does not block any functionality, everything related to Youtube part is working perfectly and now I'm currently implementing the Tiktok functionality and it is 90% done. Keep in mind both of the current versions lacking the tiktok functionality. I will upload the updates soon

Please test it, and tell me your thoughts and bugs you may find!

Webapp Name: FlowGrab — Video Downloader

Self Promotion I built a chrome extension to clip any element on a website as an editable component in a canvas.

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Xtractly. It’s a browser extension that lets you grab live components straight off any website you’re browsing: hero sections, pricing tables, navbars, cards, whatever catches your eye.

The idea came from my own workflow. Every time I saw a UI I liked, I’d screenshot it, paste it into Claude or Cursor, and try to describe the spacing, fonts and colors. The result always came out generic. So now I just hover over the thing, click, and it’s saved with the real HTML, styles, fonts and colors.

From there you can:

  • Copy it as HTML, Tailwind, React, Vue or Svelte
  • Save it to your library and edit it in the browser
  • Pull the site’s colors, fonts and tokens into a theme
  • Connect your own AI agent (Claude Code, Cursor, anything that speaks MCP) through what I call the Agent Bridge, so the agent can read your saved components and build from them directly. No more describing a screenshot.

I’d love feedback

Sharing Journey/Experience/Progress Updates 1900 → 4,000 users in 48 hours. No ads, no launch, one Reddit post.

On Wednesday, my free Chrome extension had about 2,000 users. By Friday night, it had 4,000.

I didn't run ads. I didn't do a launch. I wrote one Reddit post, and it wasn't even really about the extension.

The post was called "First acquisition offer @ ~1900 users 🤔". It's a volume booster, nothing viral about it, so I went back through the post to figure out what actually worked:

  1. The title was a story, not a launch.

"Someone wants to buy my thing" makes people curious. Everyone has an opinion on whether you should sell. Nobody clicks "check out my volume booster."

  1. It had a real dilemma.

I explained why I was hesitant: an extension like mine can run on every site, and a new owner could push ads or tracking to every user. That turned the comments into a debate about selling vs. building, and the debate kept the post alive.

  1. The numbers were real and specific.

~1,900 users, 32 reviews, 4.9★, 15–30 new users a day. A short list, nothing inflated. People trust numbers they can check on the store page.

  1. It ended with a question.

"Have you sold an extension? How did you check out the buyer?" People who'd been through it answered, and their answers were better than my post.

  1. The link came last.

After all the useful stuff, at the very end. By the time people reached it, it didn't feel like an ad.

(I turned the offer down, by the way. A lot of you told me not to sell this early, and you were right.)

What I'm watching now: whether these users stick around. Viral installs usually churn faster than people who searched for the tool. I'll know in a week whether the line holds or slides back.

If you've had a spike like this, did your users stick, or did most of them leave?

For anyone curious, the extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/fhlnjpnemdhhoejgdelndonecnbeolok

Boosts any tab up to 1000%; Smart Boost keeps it clean instead of distorted, remembers your level per site, and works on browser games. Free, no ads, no tracking.

Self Promotion new tab extension to save your tabs, notes and todos in one place (chrome, edge, helium)

shiori screenshot

I made shiori to solve my problem of tab hoarding, tabs are like my to do list, I always have 40+ tabs open because closing them felt like losing them, and I can't focus if I keep them open. browser bookmarking is just not for me.

Shiori replaces your new tab with a calm workspace for everything you have open:

  • Drag a tab from the live sidebar into kanban style board or save a whole window as a session and close all 40 tabs in one step.
  • save notes, checklists, images and a pomodoro timer.
  • create separate spaces and collections for work, personal and different projects.
  • tab switcher - press Alt+A to open raycast style palette to search and jump between open tabs
  • Arc browser style easel - spread your ideas, tabs, images on an infinite canvas.
  • Pie menus to quickly navigate around browser (give this one a try if you haven't used pie menus before)
  • detect duplicates and close them in one click.
  • prevent you from opening duplicates and highlight the already open tab.
  • local first, so new tabs open instantly
  • AI sidebar, ask AI to help you sort, organize and save tabs (BYOK).
  • Local MCP connection to use your existing AI agents like codex, claude, opencode etc.
  • import from other tab manger's export.

Lots of UI customizations -

  • lots of themes
  • background images
  • fonts
  • icons on spaces and group headers
  • hide every type of icon
  • see since when a tab is open, when you last visited it.
  • show sidebar on left or right
  • quiet mode for when you do not want to see all your tabs whenever you open a new tab.
  • fade sleeping tabs
  • show urls on tabs
  • screenshots on hover cards
  • floating/inset sidebar
  • control what buttons to show on tabs - copy, open, close, duplicate

It's free to use without an account up to 100 saves. there is a pro plan that removes all limits and a lifetime plan until the founder batch lasts.

👉 get the extension from - shiori website
👉 for any queries join - discord

I'd love honest feedback, especially if you've used Toby, Workona, One Tab or any other tab manager. What would make you switch, and what's missing?

Self Promotion I built a Chrome extension that turns websites black and white in one click

Hey everyone, I wanted to share monochromio, a small extension I built that turns websites greyscale.

The idea is simple: remove distracting colours while reading, studying, coding or browsing. Click the toolbar icon to switch between colour and greyscale across supported tabs.

It requires no account and has no tracking or data collection. Everything runs on your device.

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear where your feedback: Chrome Web Store

Idea Validation / Need feedback Web Markups passed 120 installs—looking for honest feedback from people using it

Post image
2 Upvotes

Web Markups, the Chrome extension I’m building, has now passed 120 installs. Thank you to everyone who’s given it a try!

It lets you annotate webpages, take screenshots, record tabs, and share captures through links.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s used it—even if you tried it once and stopped. Feel free to DM me:

  • What were you trying to get done?
  • Did it help, or did something get in the way?
  • What would make you use it again?

You don’t need a detailed review. A quick, honest message—including what you didn’t like—would help me figure out what to improve next.

I’m the maker, and I’ll read and respond personally.

Asking a Question What markets/niches that have a high converting rate when it comes to extensions?

Psst: i am not a native english speaker, forgive my grammar.

I can't stop thinking of making a useful extension that users would happily pay a monthly subs, i just can't figure out what niches I should build for.. and pls dont tell me just create solutions for whatever problems you have, i can't find any answer like that. And m not deep into anything specific, i am more like doing a little from many things, they called it the jack of all trades. And my only goal is to make money, nothing else. Of course i don't want to scam ppl so i want to build something useful! I build my first extension that helps connect your browser with VS Code projects -> so you never got to dig into +50 tabs whenever you switch your projects. I genuinely like it cuz its doing the job! And i use vs code myself so i would use it too. Im thinking: if I build this to help developers work smoothly, and made a premium tier, why would they buy it if they can build something similar themselves for themselves! And I decided I'm going to make it free and take it as a lesson. My question is what markets or niches ppl are willing to pay ? I just want to brain storm with you guys since all of you are into building extensions.. if u have already a successful extension; i would like to hear tour experience. Another thing is how can i monitize my extension without the 'premium features' and without getting my users emails!

Self Promotion I built a lightweight full-page screenshot extension for Chrome because existing ones were too bloated.

As a developer/designer, I got frustrated with heavy screenshot extensions that slow down the browser or throw random ads. So I built PageSnap—a fast, lightweight (around 6MB) full-page screenshot and capture tool.

What it does right now:

• Instant full-page screenshots & cropping.
• Lightweight and doesn't bloat your browser memory.

I just launched it and got my first few reviews, but I would love some feedback from this community!

Let me know what features you'd like to see next (planning to add video tools and CSS inspectors soon!). Thanks!

I built it to spot every data table on the page you're reading and adds a small "Visualize" button next to it. One click opens a dashboard right beside the page: charts, key insights and clean data you can export anywhere.

Self Promotion I built a Chrome extension that reads any page aloud in 7 languages and highlights each sentence as it goes

My first extension is live. It reads any page aloud in a natural AI voice: articles, docs, emails, or just a selection. It highlights each sentence as it reads, and you can click a sentence to jump there. It works in 7 languages.

Under the hood it’s Manifest V3, built with WXT. It only uses activeTab and asks for no broad permissions. The highlighting uses the CSS Custom Highlight API, so the page’s DOM is never touched.

Asking a Question How to grow faster

Thumbnail

I made canvas refined, a FOSS fork of the old bettercanvas since it's devs diverged and turned it into a closed source extension that asks for you to make an account and pay a subscription. I launched it about 90 days ago and it's been growing well, about 50-70 users a day on weekdays and around 10-30 on weekends (as do most school extensions), but I want it to grow at a faster rate.

I don't make money off of this, so I don't want to pay for ads and posting on subreddits has only been really impactful at launch. I preferably need a place where students will see the posts. If anyone has any ideas on how to increase the growth rate, please drop your ideas in the comments!

Self Promotion Building a modern browser automation extension with TypeScript + WXT (Automa alternative)

Hey everyone! 👋

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on recently. I’ve always been a huge fan of Automa—it’s an amazing tool for automating browser tasks visually using drag-and-drop blocks. However, since the original project was sold, I felt that active development and support slowed down quite a bit.

Instead of just waiting around, I decided to build a modern, fully rewritten alternative from the ground up.

What’s under the hood?

  • TypeScript: The entire codebase is written in TS for better type safety, easier maintenance, and higher reliability when dealing with complex page interactions.
  • WXT Framework: Built on top of the WXT framework to leverage a modern extension architecture, improved performance, and full compliance with Manifest V3 standards.

Key Features

This extension lets you automate repetitive browser tasks without writing a single line of code:

  • Visual Workflow Builder: Drag and drop blocks to build powerful automation sequences in seconds.
  • Web Scraping & Data Extraction: Scrape text, tables, images, and links directly from web pages into usable formats.
  • Form Auto-Filling: Save time by automatically filling out repetitive forms and input fields.
  • Scheduled Automations: Set triggers and schedules to run your workflows automatically at specific times or intervals.
  • Screenshots & Page Actions: Capture full-page screenshots, click elements, scroll, and navigate pages seamlessly.

Who is this for?

Whether you're a marketer, QA tester, developer, researcher, or just someone looking to save hours every week by automating routine web tasks, this tool is designed to give you full control over your browser workflow.

I’d love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or suggestions for new blocks!

Asking a Question Review Rating

I had someone who gave me a one start on my extension because that person discovered a bug. I immediately resolved the bug and deployed a version with the bug resolved. I responded to the rating hoping that the person would review his rating. Am I expecting too much for the person to come back and re-review his rating?
