Asking a Question What's one small problem you face while browsing the web or working on your computer?

• Upvotes

💡 Looking for ideas for my next side project!

I'm planning to build a small Chrome extension that solves a real, everyday problem.
Instead of building something nobody needs, I'd love to hear from this community.

It could be anything related to productivity, development, file management, or daily workflows.
I'd love to hear your ideas and maybe turn one of them into a useful tool! 🚀

Sharing Resources/Tips Built a Chrome extension that swaps words into your target language as you browse — immersion without a separate app

• Upvotes

So I've been learning Spanish on and off for a year or so and really enjoy the reading side to it, and the more I researched it seems immersion is the best way to learn and so decided to build this little chrome extension that swaps out a handful of words into a selected target language in my instance Spanish. No gimmicks, streaks or whatever just plain old says what it does on the tin.

Started off building for myself but thought it was worth sharing.

Sharing Journey/Experience/Progress Updates I made a free tool for non-techy people that alerts you within minutes of a new LinkedIn job being posted

My cousin was job hunting for months. 10-15 applications a day, almost no replies. She thought her resume was the problem.

It wasn't. She was just always late. By the time she saw a job, it already had 200-300 applicants. LinkedIn's alert emails would show up hours later, and she couldn't sit refreshing LinkedIn all day.

So I built her something simple: Job Radar. She sets up her search once and it checks LinkedIn every 3 minutes. The moment a new job shows up, she gets a desktop notification with a chime. No more refreshing, no more late emails.

She went from applicant #250 to one of the first 10, and the callbacks finally started.

Then I kept adding stuff every time she complained 😅

  • one click to see only jobs from the last 15 min / 30 min / 1 hour
  • hides promoted, reposted and staffing-agency jobs, plus any company or title she doesn't want (like "Senior" since she's a fresher)
  • saves her usual answers (notice period, salary, etc.) so she can copy them into Easy Apply forms
  • a daily goal with a streak to keep her going

It's free for everyone. No account, no tracking, nothing leaves your browser: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/mdnefacoafkpdmbnjdaijlgahjnebgbo

Feedback welcome, still improving it.

Sharing Resources/Tips I got tired of messy table copy-pasting, so I built a clean Chrome extension to export web tables into CSV

Hey

Like many of you, I frequently need to grab tables from web pages (financial reports, product data, directories) into Excel.

Manual copy-pasting always broke the columns and formats. Existing tools either felt bloated or forced expensive recurring subscriptions for a basic task.

So I built **TableSnap**:

- 1-click automatic detection of tables on the active tab

- Exports cleanly to CSV with formatting preserved

- 100% client-side (all parsing runs locally in your browser, zero tracking)

**I just launched it on the Chrome Web Store. I'll drop the store link and a 100% free license coupon in the first comment!**

Would love to hear your feedback on the extraction speed and any edge-case tables you'd like it to handle.

Asking a Question Quick FAQ

I am new to creating chrome extensions and I have made one by vibe coding. Wanted to ask some questions.

  1. Does vibe coded extensions work properly if published in the chrome webstore or shall I need to keep in mind about something?

  2. What are options in terms of money making through a vibe coded extension?

Self Promotion Ever seen a weirdly targeted advert? You probably had a tracker following you. CookieZ fixes that, the open source cookie blocker/editor i built.

Most tracking adverts rely on third party cookies. I built an open source extension that lets you see them and block them per site. Try it out now for yourself at https://cookiez.uk

Any bugs/suggestions? Email support@cookiez.uk
Honest feedback is much appreciated :)

Self Promotion I built a Chrome extension to save products from any online store into one list

I do a lot of comparison shopping. I’d end up with 15 tabs open across Amazon, small shops and random brand sites, and bookmarks that never showed the price or which option I’d picked.

So I built Kleepter. It’s a collection layer on top of the shops you already use:

  • On a product page: it picks up the title, image, price, link, store and the option you chose (like “16GB, 1TB SSD”), and you save it with one click.
  • On a search or category page: tick several products and hit Kleep All.
  • My Kleeps (toolbar popup): all your saved products in one list, whatever the store. You can open the original page or remove items.

Privacy:

  • No account and no backend.
  • No tracking.
  • Everything is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local).
  • The extension makes no network requests of its own.

It’s free, and it’s early, so some shops won’t be read correctly. If you find one that breaks, tell me which one and I’ll look at it.

Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/kleepter/nfichloacegdjhmjmfmlkgfbahagopei

Site: https://kleepter.app

Questions I’d like feedback on: which stores do you shop at most, and would you want price-drop alerts or just the list?

Asking a Question Has anyone else received an email from Chrome-Stats? How reliable are its rankings?

I recently received an email from Chrome-Stats saying my Chrome extension made it into their top ranking

It was a nice surprise, but I'm not familiar with how their rankings work, so I'm a little skeptical.

Has anyone else received a similar email? Is Chrome-Stats a trustworthy source for Chrome Web Store analytics?

Self Promotion I made a Chrome extension that aggregates Instagram "Liked by" lists across multiple posts locally in browser memory (zero network requests, no scraping)

I run a 5,000-follower Instagram account on the side. Across my last 10 posts I had 5,893 likes from 4,020 unique people, and I wanted to know a simple thing: who are the repeat fans liking almost every post?

Native Instagram Insights only gives you total numbers, never usernames. Cross-referencing the "Liked by" modal across 10 posts by hand in a spreadsheet took hours. So I built FanPulse.

How it works under the hood (and why it doesn't trigger rate limits):

Most Instagram tools run background fetch loops or auto-scroll the DOM, which quickly gets flagged by Instagram's anti-bot detection. I wanted zero risk to my account, so I built this to be completely passive:

- When you open a post's "Liked by" modal normally in Chrome and click extract, it reads the user list and comments directly from the page's in-memory state (React Fiber / Redux store) that Instagram has already loaded on your screen.

- It makes zero extra network requests to Instagram and zero requests to any external server.

- Everything is aggregated and stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB / localStorage) with an MV3 CSP-safe dashboard.

What you can see in the dashboard:

- Multi-post fan ranking: merge 3, 10, or 50+ posts in one second to spot your top 20% repeat superfans and quiet leads (people who like 2-4 times but never comment).

- 80/20 Pareto chart, comment history search per user, and separate datasets for benchmarking competitor posts.

What it can't do:

Because it never scrapes in the background, it won't automatically crawl 100 posts while you sleep. You have to open the Likes modal on the posts you want to include. The trade-off is that your account stays 100% safe and you never have to hand over your login or cookies.

It's free for merging up to 3 posts (with a built-in 5-step visual guide on first launch), and unlimited posts/CSV export is a one-time license—no subscription.

I'm the developer and would love any feedback on the UI or how it handles different post types!

Self Promotion I built a Chrome extension that bulk deletes your old LinkedIn posts, comments and likes

Thumbnail

Before a job search I wanted to clean up years of LinkedIn activity, but LinkedIn only lets you delete things one by one. So I built Activity Cleaner.

What it does:

- Bulk deletes your own posts (and optionally reposts), comments and reactions

- Dry run mode: counts everything first and deletes nothing

- Works slowly on purpose, one item at a time with random pauses and breaks, so it doesn't look like a bot

- Skips other people's content automatically

- Runs entirely in your browser with your existing LinkedIn session: no password, no servers, no data collected

Free plan: 10 deletions a day. Pro ($6/mo) removes the limit.

Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/cggmnmnchnbackhfknagljdeboidbgak

It's my first extension, so I'd really appreciate feedback, especially on what breaks or what you'd want it to clean next.

Self Promotion Hidden Twitch

Hi! I created an extension for Twitch: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hidden-vod-for-twitch/nebhcnjcpfgkimngdoifmcljddlncicj

What it does:

- Finds the recording of a past stream, even if it's not shown in the channel's video list

- Works with live streams too: finds the recording of the stream that is live right now, so you can rewind it from the very beginning and clip any moment while it's still going

- Built-in player: speed, volume, quality, fullscreen

- Clip cutting: pick start and end, save as .ts — no software needed. No limit by time.

Everything runs locally in the browser: no account, no analytics.

I'd love feedback. Thanks!

Idea Validation / Need feedback Chrome extension to find, watch and clip past Twitch VODs and live streams

Hi! I created an extension 'Hidden VOD for Twitch': https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hidden-vod-for-twitch/nebhcnjcpfgkimngdoifmcljddlncicj

What it does:

- Finds the recording of a past stream on Twitch's video CDN, even if it's not shown in the channel's video list

- Works with live streams too: finds the recording of the stream that is live right now, so you can rewind it from the very beginning and clip any moment while it's still going

- Built-in player: speed, volume, quality, fullscreen

- Clip cutting: pick start and end, save as .ts — no ffmpeg or other software needed. No limit by time.

Everything runs locally in the browser: no account, no analytics, nothing sent to me.

I'd love feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, what breaks. Thanks!

Sharing Journey/Experience/Progress Updates I built this to-do Chrome extension to keep tracking my task, now I am sharing with everybody

I built TaskDuster for myself because I wanted a simple way to see what I still need to do and what I’ve already finished. Having both in one place has made my day easier, so I’m sharing it in case it helps someone else too.

It keeps personal and work tasks separate, shows overdue and upcoming tasks, and keeps a history of completed ones. I also added lists, tags, recurring tasks and reminders as I needed them.

It’s free, with no account or ads. Tasks are saved locally in Chrome.

You can try it here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lplnoflkjjfklccngjakklengjihodho

I’d appreciate honest feedback, especially on what would make it easier to use.

Self Promotion I built Tokenwatch to track Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini & Antigravity usage in one Chrome extension

Hey everyone! 👋

I use multiple AI tools daily, and one thing that kept annoying me was having to open different dashboards just to check how much usage I had left and when my limits would reset.

So I built Tokenwatch, a free Chrome extension that brings everything into one place.

It currently supports:

Claude

ChatGPT / Codex

Gemini

Antigravity (via an optional macOS/windows companion)

You can check your usage limits, remaining quota, and reset times directly from the extension. It also has configurable alerts when you're getting close to your limits.

Privacy was important to me: It uses your existing signed-in sessions, doesn't require another account, and doesn't send your usage data to a Tokenwatch server.

Tokenwatch

I'm planning to improve it further and would really appreciate some feedback from other extension users and developers.

What other AI providers would you like to see supported? Or is there a feature you think would make this more useful?

Happy to hear suggestions, bug reports, or criticism. I'm actively improving it! 🙂
