Discussion Relatively new to the series and I’m curious, how accurate is the anime portrayal of Dracula? Is he actually an in depth and somewhat sympathetic character in the games like he is in the anime?

Discussion Happy 18th birthday to the bittersweet conclusion of Igarashi’s time on Castlevania
He was also involved in Judgement and Adventure Rebirth, but this was his last official Konami-made Metroidvania using the foundation he made back in SOTN before he left in the 2010’s (This game also released the same day as Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, so that’s pretty cool)

Discussion Does anyone prefer the classic Bela Lugosi stereotypical vampire look of Dracula from the older games or the more Anime looking version from Symphony of the Night onwards?

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) If not for like two or three lines in Belmont's Curse you'd think that they decanonised this guy Spoiler
Like seriously if not for Rose saying "My parents and their allies" you'd think that he's written out of the canon. No mentions by Trevor (who even mentioned fuckin Alucard even tho we already have his room in the castle), zero references at Belmont's House illusion (could easily make him write a letter to Trevor and Sypha that Rose reads).
And to me worst of all, zero artwork around the castle and zero alternative recolor based on him. Given the fact that Shanoa has an artwork it's no stretch to think that Grant could get one too. And no recolor is absolutely criminal. I could even accept it as a small like 1 or 2 dollar dlc that adds it, but no. We got Trevor, Sypha and Alucard
Also why didn't they for example make a reference to his knives (since he had two knife attacks) as dual swords for example? Instead of War and Famine. We have Valmanway, Bernard reference, Excalibur and Alucard's sword and shield so why not?

Symphony of the Night (1997) Let's hear it for Bob the Bat!
Just a little Bob the Bat appreciation as we get ready for Halloween!
Art not by me (I can't even draw a good stick figure 😹 ), but by RaceCarArt!

The best companion in Symphony of the Night with a crush on Alucard (and who can blame him?)

Discussion In the Castlevania universe, if you're not a Belmont, the Vampire Killer will drain some of your life with every enemy you defeat... (continued in the description)
Alright, but what do I mean by that? Here's the thing: Alucard is an immortal being, and since the Vampire Killer drains some of the life force of whoever wields it, what would happen if Alucard used the Vampire Killer? He is immortal, so theoretically, the Vampire Killer shouldn't have any effect on him.
What do you think?

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Hoping to beat my first ever Castlevania game. Anything I should know going into Aria?
Also ignore the fact my GBA looks off lol, it's one of those Chinese emulation handhelds

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) I just platinumed Belmont's curse and holy hell this game is amazing
I will be honest this is actually one of my first true and proper game from the Castlevania series and it's genuinely really good. I love the art style of this game and the platforming sections feels smooth to play. Only part where I don't like is the hall of mirrors hit everything else about it is amazing. Thank you Evil Empire for this fantastic game, hoping this company will do more of them to come.
Edit: forgot to mention but these are my favourite screenshot in the game

Games My Personal Top 4 Castlevania Games
Castlevania Legends was the first Castlevania game I played; I’d often dive into it as a child whenever we were on our way to my grandmother’s house and I was incredibly bored. Even by today’s standards—and considering it was on the Game Boy, the music remains an absolute masterpiece; it sounds unbelievably good!
I didn’t play Symphony of the Night until much later, on my PS2, and my god, it was a gaming experience I’ll never forget... the music, the atmosphere, everything about it was just perfect!
Portrait of Ruin was the first game I bought for myself on sale, using my apprentice wages, and it was so good! Although the gameplay mechanics differed slightly from those in SotN, it captured that same sense of love!
A colleague once lent me a copy of Curse of Darkness, and I was skeptical at first. But once I started playing and grasped the mechanics, I found the blend of Castlevania and Pokémon really cool; I ended up completely hooked and played it all the way through.

Discussion Older Castlevania fan checking in:
One of the first games I ever finished on the NES was Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (with some help from a guide book). I could beat the first one but I played it a lot lol. Anyway, yeah I’m old (48).
Picked up Belmont’s Curse for Switch 2 (my ps5 just died - RIP).
This is not a fair assessment yet since I only just beat Medusa, but….holy shit, this game is fun. Absolutely love the combat. I’m really enjoying the spear (maybe op?).
I can’t claim to have played every CV game ever (I missed out on the N64 games) but I’ve played most of them. Still own most of them today.
It’s still early but Belmont’s Curse is shaping up to be one of my favorites.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Overall enjoyed the game, but what's up with Relics?
I just found these not compelling in the slightest. The one that makes Potions 100% effective is really good. There's some others that are decent, but the vast majority of them are extremely situational or otherwise useless. I'm honestly fine with this game doing away with a lot of the inventory, but this means that a lot of chest rewards for optional, challenging sections are Relics which you're just never going to bother equipping.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) 100% Club! That was fun!
I have mixed feelings on some elements of the game, but overall it was a great experience!
My biggest issues were the unrelenting enemy difficulty in some areas, a lot of the bosses are brutal! But I actually never had any issues with the platforming challenges, those were probably my favorite part.
I squirrel a lot, so before advancing too far into the game, I always try to 100% an area before moving on. Knowing early on that the gold map borders indicate places you've completed vs. the grayed out areas that you haven't, REALLY helped!
The speed run portion took me right around 1hr 56min following a YT video and (I feel no shame in admitting) turning "no death" on and max damage up for the "Dialog Clicker" trophy was worth it.
Despite a lot of negativity I've seen (and largely ignored), I hope this game is successful, I hope it makes Konami a ton of money, that will motivate them to continue the franchise and hopefully give us a 3D collection!
Lament of Innocence seems like a logical choice now, yeah?
