On the day of the capitol riots, one officer protecting our elected officials and the halls of congress suffered a stroke during the attack and died the next day. Four officers died by suicide shortly after due to the trauma they experienced being beaten with flag polls and tasered. Those tragedies fall on one man and one man only and that is Donald Trump, someone Mike Minogue voted for before and after he unleashed a violent mob on those officers. In Mike's own words he "supports the president".

Mike claims to be a military man. Well, he also supports a man who said John McCain, a hero and prisoner of war in Vietnam for five years where he was subject to years of torture wasn't a war hero because, in his own words, "I like people that weren't captured". That's who Mike Minogue voted for three times and that's who Mike Minogue has given almost a million dollars to. What's worse is that the majority of money he gave to Trump came after those cops were nearly beaten to death. Think of that for one minute. A man running to lead our state has the capacity to condone something that heinous. What would that say about us?

When you go to the ballot box or fill the one you have in, I ask you simply to remember that a vote for Mike Minogue is a vote for an apologist of a deranged sexual predator who has done nothing but sow division and hatred between us. A vote for Mike Minogue is a vote for a man with character and judgement below the sacred office that so many great Republicans and Democrats have held. Mitt Romney, Charlie Baker, and Bill Weld all had two things in common- they were all Republican governors of the the Commonwealth and they were all men of integrity who supported our war prisoners, capitol police officers, and repudiated Donald Trump. Not so much for Mike Minogue. Vote with your conscience and for the people who died protecting our democracy.

I have heard it described as one of the most racist places in America, yet during my first week here, surrounded mostly by people outside my race, the experience has felt quite pleasant and welcoming.

Having examined the ballot questions this year, the one that will impact this state the most if passed is Question 5. Question 5 is sneakily worded, but it in effect ends the millionaire's tax passed by voters through a ballot referendum several years ago.

If you like the T, if you like good roads, if you value funding public infrastructure and public education, I strongly encourage you all to vote No on 5. If it passes, the average person saves only a few dollars a year but people with over a million dollars in income per year might not have to pay the millionaire's tax anymore. The formula being proposed basically all but ensures that.

Question 5 might effectively end the millionaire's tax and force the state to enact severe cuts to public services.

Also vote No on Question 8. The state earns quite a bit from weed taxes.

I come to the common and the garden to get away from the world and you park your giant billboard truck in my view? I'm just so exhausted that everywhere I go, I'm being advertised to. I can't even go to the park anymore without billboards shoved in my face!

They are just completely scamming the city by not having to pay the property taxes of having a fixed billboard! We are forced to look at their advertising and they save a bundle!

A man who happened to be driving a black tesla hatchback and looked similar to my uber driver (mediterranean/latin, tan, dark curly hair) who also happened to drive a dark hatchback. He rolled down his window and I asked if he was (driver's name) he said yes. That’s when my real driver showed up and he drove off. This was in Brookline around noon. Everything just lined up really well: app said driver was approaching, cars matched at a surface level, driver appeared strikingly similar to driver on app (except skinnier and with a haircut so I thought he needed to update his photo).

As the title says, I'm visiting Boston! I'm visiting with my husband and we haven't been in years - we're coming from the Bay Area. This is a work/fun trip, but mostly fun! We'll be in Boston for 5 nights - the last 3 nights we're staying near Brookline Village. I haven't booked a hotel/Airbnb for the first 2 nights, so open to any neighborhood/hotel recommendations.

I would love recommendations for good food, bars, bakeries, sporting events (hockey vs basketball?), fun walks, etc. for when I'm not working. I'm really only working 1 full day so most days we get to ourselves. We will be there mid-November so unsure how cold it will be while we're there.

Stereophoto I bought on ebay depicting East Boston, ca 1900 (according to the handwritten note on the back). I live by Maverick and can't seem to find where this is. Couple clues on the Millenery store that might able to help pin point it, the island walkway thing they're on is quite wide, and there is a Corns sign in the back- which i think was for feet care... It also looks like the buildings are 6 floors- so i'm starting to question east boston. But if anyone has any other ideas- I'd love to hear!
