The parent company of Stop & Shop, Hannaford, and Giant Food's was hit with a cyberattack last week, knocking out the chains' websites and apps for more than a week now, leaving millions of shoppers unable to place online orders or access digital services.
My name is Alexa Gagosz and I'm a business reporter with the Boston Globe. Do you regularly order off Peapod, or use other services from these brands? Have you had to pause because of the outage at Stop & Shop (or the other brands)? I want to hear from you.
Please send me an email with any thoughts and your name at [alexa.gagosz@globe.com](mailto:alexa.gagosz@globe.com) or text me at 401-400-1595!

When you are in most touristy parts of Boston, you see a pretty even spread of ethnicities among tourists, but id say 3 out of 4 tourists I see touring around Harvard’s campus are generally Asian. For folks that have a connection to that community, why is visiting Harvard so popular with those folks?
My best guess is that maybe Asian tourists are more likely to travel in pre-planned organized bus tours that have some connection with a Harvard sq business so they always stop there?

Hello everyone! My girlfriend and I are taking a weekend trip up from Pittsburgh this coming weekend. She is vegan so I was wondering about vegan or vegan friendly restaurants that are in the area! Would love a place that is more targeted for a date night but it doesn’t need to be fine dining. Doesn’t directly have to be in the city proper since we are renting a car so distance really isn’t a major issue for us. Thank you for the suggestions!

I saw online that it is legal to ride a horse on public streets in Boston, but how restrictive is it? What roads would be forbidden? Also, I want to ask what you guys think about commuting with a horse for college. I would love to gallop a horse on Commonwealth Ave every morning to school. This question is really just to serve my curiosity, but also deep in me I really would like to have something like this in my life.

I run an amateur haunted house in Bedford MA. I'm a huge Halloween enthusiast and build my own props and sets. It is free, all ages, and I collect food items for the local food bank. I expect around 2000 visitors the next couple weekends.
One of my actors had to back out this Saturday October 24 (5:45 to 9:30 pm). Does anybody want to step in, either doing a jump scare in my haunted forest or as an usher for the Clown / Carn-evil area? I can provide the costume. No acting experience necessary. This is volunteer only; I will provide drinks and pizza. It is SUPER FUN and it will be an amazing night to remember.
I also have a slot for a high school or middle school teen. Happy to provide community service hours.
Please DM me for more details.
And of course you are all welcome to check out the haunted house!

I’m a law student and my classmates and I are designing a legislative proposal to address challenges facing local business owners. Rather than assuming what those might be, we want to hear from small business owners/ community members directly. What is making your life harder? Are there things you deal with that seem like there should already be a governmental fix? What are policymakers missing?
Thank you!!!

Three longtime friends in our mid-50s are heading to Boston for a guys' weekend in early Nov. Two of us have been before, but it's been a while. We're staying at the InterContinental on the waterfront and looking to make the most of a short trip.
We like great food, good bars, live music, exploring a city on foot, and doing something a little different. Not looking to stay out until 2 AM, but definitely want to have some fun. One drinks a lot, one doesn't drink at all but likes gummies, and I'm right in the middle, enjoying both.
Here's what we've got so far:
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
We're fine walking or taking Ubers, and don't mind spending money on something that's genuinely worth it.
A few questions for the locals:
Not trying to cram everything into 48 hours. We'd rather do a handful of memorable things than run around checking tourist boxes.
Appreciate any recommendations!
EDIT 1: Bagging Tea Party tour, changed dining to Mooo on Friday night and Arya Trattoria on Saturday night, bagged F1 as well

I want to find a real ghost I can challenge. Does anyone know if within Boston there are haunted places? I want to see how a ghost would respond if I scream I dare you to haunt me you little bitch. I want to see how tough the ghosts are.
Which building has the most hauntings?

They also don’t have license plates?
For context this is D&G in Allston. They have a large lot (right side) but they park their trucks out in such a fashion outside

We are staying at the airport hotel, but don't mind travelling a bit. Would be great if maybe there were a couple places we could crawl to. Many thanks!

Hey people I'm trying to buy a new backpack (something over 30L) and I want to actually try them and see some IRL. Is there a good place in the Boston area to do this? Thanks!

my girlfriend (23) and I (26) are trying to find fun and unique anniversary activities — she lives in Boston and we’ve done most of the “classic” Boston activities (Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum, Boston Commons etc) and are looking for some more niche/artsy things to do this coming month.
Bonus points if it’s dog friendly and/or queer (we’re lesbians)
Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
I'm an international volunteer research fellow at a hospital in Boston, currently unpaid. Unfortunately, my health insurance doesn't cover dental treatment.
I've been experiencing some pain around an old filling, and I'm concerned that I might need a tooth extraction.
I've looked into Tufts, BU, and Harvard dental schools, but I'm worried about the costs of the initial examination, X-rays, and extraction.
Has anyone had a tooth extracted at any of these dental schools without insurance? How much did you pay in total?
I'm specifically looking for free or very low-cost extraction services, ideally under $100, if that's possible.
I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences, especially from people who were uninsured or had no income.
Thank you so much!

Absolute hail mary here – but I am so upset with myself that I gotta give it a shot.
I was at the Clover inside Eastern Edge Food Hall in Kendall on Sunday, October 18th at around 2:30pm. I was sitting on the leather couches directly across from Clover, sketching a new project while with some friends. We left sort of quickly, and I believe I left my pencil case with my art supplies in it on the couch.
I've spent so much time curating the supplies, and much of them are from Taiwan and I can't even remember the brands in order to replace them again. The pouch itself is a semi-opaque, silicone feeling zip pouch with mustard trip (image attached - it's the one on the bottom). Inside there is the BEST pencil sharpener in the world, the most perfect eraser, incredible bronze-brown scissors, unopened Poscas in black and white, and the sickest mechanical pencil you've ever seen and probably other stuff I can't remember – I AM BEREFT.
I have already reached out to the GM at Eastern Edge as well as Clover on instagram and email, but haven't gotten word back from them yet.
Please please please, if you stumbled upon it I really want it back. From one artist to another, these materials mean so much to me and I will create a custom piece of art for anyone who can return it!
Thank you!

My wife and I will be coming to Boston October 23-26 with our 2 year old toddler. We are staying in Seaport and plan on doing the Old Town Trolley on Saturday but what are some things we must do with our toddler and restaurants that are unique to Boston we can go to? We won’t have a car and plan to walk or take the public transportation. Is it safe to use the T at night or should we plan on eating around the hotel at night?

Hello everyone, my girlfriend and I are spending two nights in the North End at the end of December and are looking for recommendations of things to do. We enjoy museums, trying new foods, a good beer or cocktail bar. I work in the maritime industry so if there’s anything ship or waterfront related that would also be cool. My girlfriend works in the music industry so any local music shows would also be interesting to see. We have already done the Freedom trail and the general Revolutionary war attractions.

Just passed at least ten cruisers, including unmarked vehicles, screaming down 95 and Route 1 southbound with their lights on On my commute home. Anyone know what they’re responding to? Seemed to be a pretty serious response so I doubt it was a car crash or anything like that.
Not a scam just would rather someone get the experience than just let the tickets go to waste, just DM me
Edit: Just gave away one of them, so one left if anyone’s interested

I went on a long walk today (with no destination in mind) around 5pm and ended up in the hills of Charleston. With the golden hour as the sun slowly set and the foliage, all I wanted was a chill spot with a view of the city (doesn’t have to be Boston at all). So, I was wondering….Charleston, do you happen to have a hidden viewpoint for wanderers like me to checkout? Doesn’t have to be scenic, or perfect, developed or busy - all I crave is seeing the horizon every once in a while to feel human again. Many thanks!

Hey all, Brighton to Brooklyn in November, 1 bedroom.
Gentle Giant is out of my budget so I'm looking for other options, ideally under $2500. Anyone tried Flash Moving for this route or have someone else to recommend?
