Local Lost Wallet Around Martinez Commons

Update: I FOUND MY WALLET!! Thank you so much Berkeley community :) This is my first time ever in Berkeley/SF to begin with and I appreciate the kindness!!

Hoping the great people of reddit will save me from this disaster. I parked near Martinez Commons and used my card to pay for the parking. I think when doing that my wallet must have fallen out of my purse and i did not notice.

Thank you all in advance and appreciate the help!

Local Am I crazy or have people become shitter

Am I crazy or have people become generally less willing to help, self protective, self interested, suspicious, transactional, uncaring, and detached in real life everywhere you go? It constantly feels like I could die and no one would gaf. I have this vague sense that people and strangers used to be kinder. Is it just the Bay? It’s almost like some people will go out of their way to let you know how indifferent they are, and many people have this borderline vindictive energy towards strangers. Some of my TAs straight up don’t show up to their assigned office hours and grade shockingly incorrectly as if they automatically dislike or assume the worst about students they’ve never even met.

University Env Econ 141 (Aaron Smith) vs 145 (Michael Anderson)

Trying to decide between Env Econ 141 with Aaron Smith and Env Econ 145 with Michael Anderson for next semester and can't pick. Has anyone taken either one (or both)?
Would love to know:
How heavy the workload is (psets, papers, projects?)
What the exams are like and how grading/curve works
How good the lectures are and whether the prof is approachable
Which one you actually learned more from or found more interesting
Any other tips appreciated, thanks!

University Graduate classes as an undegrad (MCB)

Does anyone have any experience taking MCB graduate classes/have any recommendations for MCB grad classes that allow undergraduates? It seems that taking grad classes as an undergrad is more commonplace for other majors, but I haven't heard much about it for MCB, and it seems like a lot of classes straight reject undergraduates even if they ask. Does anyone know of any classes that allow for undegrad enrollment/are doable? (I'm particularly interested in molecular therapeutics/genome editing/applications to disease treatment)

University both math 53 and 54 for spring sem?

Everyone I've talked to about this says its a really bad idea, especially since I haven't taken a formal calc 3 or diff eq course before and I also have a lot of club stuff going on next semester. BUT these two courses and a decal are the only ones I'm taking in spring, and I have no doubt that I'll be able to make time for these classes if it realllly comes down to it. the reason I'm doing this is so that I can take it easier next year when i have even more outside stuff going on.

basically what i'm asking is,
if you've taken these courses before (separately or at the same time), is the content too difficult to be able to handle dividing attention between the two classes? also which professors should I choose?

CS/EECS Easy-ish fun and interesting class to take in my last semester?

I’m a senior graduating this Spring. I have technically already completed all of my requirements, so I could have graduated earlier, but wanted to take more classes. In my last semester I am planning on taking EECS 151 with Lab A + a CS upper division class [still deciding which one].

Any recommendations of what other class can I take to reach 12 credits? I don’t mind mandatory attendance or having to take quizzes/exams but would prefer a class with minimal homework. It would be great if it was an interesting topic. I have looked at Psychology, History, Legal Studies, Public Policy classes but am unsure how the workload is for those.

Thank you.

University How competitive is Berkeley’s Executive Track LL.M.?

Hi.

I am a law graduate from abroad looking into LL.M. programmes in the US, and Berkeley’s Executive Track caught my attention.

I have been trying to find information about the programme, but there doesn’t seem to be much discussion about it online, especially compared to the traditional LL.M.

I was wondering if anyone here has applied to or attended the Executive Track and could share their experience.

I am particularly curious about the acceptance rate and how competitive admissions actually are. Is it generally easier to get into than the traditional LL.M.? Also, how much weight do they place on undergraduate grades, the university you attended, and work experience? Would someone with relatively limited work experience have a decent shot?

If anyone who’s been admitted is comfortable sharing their profile (grades, university, work experience, etc.), that would be really helpful too.

Would appreciate any insights. Thanks

Well I learned my lesson from not doing research before signing up for this, so posting this to warn my fellows if you didn’t know.

This is how much they charge you for getting the pictures even digital it’s worth ten meals.

I know they charge a lot but not this much! Additionally the pictures were ass.

CS/EECS EECS MEng DS concentration vs MAIML

Hello everyone. I want to apply for a Masters degree at Berkeley that focuses on AI/ML so narrowed it down to EECS MEng Data Science concentration and the newly launched Masters in AI and Machine Learning (MAIML). The difference I see between the two of them is the capstone project and the "holistic" approach from MEng. You get leadership classes, project management, etc. Whereas on MAIML you get access to the same courses as EECS MEng but these holistic classes are replaced with AI Seminars and other stuff taking up credits that doesn't seem to add value to the student (like the silicon valley immersion, 2 days having lunches with paid people).

So, now I don't know which one to apply to because coursework is basically the same but since MAIML is new, i'd say they will accept more people and it will be less competitive since it's less known. So easier to get admitted.

I am from Colombia, trying to breakthrough AI. No research experience 3.66/4 GPA, 2 degrees (one in CS other in telecommunications), toefl 5/6 and 5 years of experience with US companies as SWE and AI Engineer... I'm trying to make a decision because I can only apply to one program per cycle.

Any thoughts, help or ideas here is more than welcome!
