Double Standards?

How come Pauline Hanson hasn't said anything about Brendan Nugent for attacking Helen Haines apart from posting that deplorable cartoon?

What if Nugent isn't white?

Either way, following her logic, shouldn't she be demanding him to go back to the own country of his ancestors?

PS For those who said she did - sure, she condemned the act but my post was about her specifically referring to the perpetrator other than a general motherhood statement against violence.

Politics Who actually wanted the esafety stuff?

I have not met a single person who likes what the government is doing or even believes what the government is claiming about why they are doing it. So who actually voted for it? And why haven’t I heard of them? And why is the government giving speeches as though people believe the whole “for children’s safety” angle when I have not run across a single solitary Australian citizen who buys that? Like genuinely I do not get who this is for. Cause it’s not for kids safety, adults are inconvenienced by it. All I can think is that a group of data stealing companies got together and decided to lobby for it…am I not far off?

What do you guys think about Australia becoming an opt-out organ donation state?

Just curious because some other countries have trialed on opt-out program for decreased organ donation but in Australia it's still opt-in only. Do you guys think that this would be helpful for increasing donor numbers in Aus but could also have its own issues...like would it increase distrust in the medical system? Not sure.... just looking for some other perspectives?

Gov Publications Do Instsnt Consult docs laugh about the business they're in?

Woke up this morning with a bit of a hangover. Contacted the appropriate work bloke and was asked if I'd provide a medical certificate.

No worries. Jump on IC, told them I woke up with a migraine, a bunch of doc care stuff yada yada done and dusted $45.

Workers taking the piss or deservedly snatching a dozen more crumbs from the machine?

Questions or Queries What do I need to do to be a clinical psychologist?

For context I've been thinking about this on and off for years and I was to make absolute sure this is what I want.

Everything is pointing towards being a clinical psychologist.

I love helping people, I have first hand knowledge in trauma, stress, mental health and a lot of other things.

I am a person where I see someone having a problem and I already ask questions to find the core of the issue and always somehow answer their questions as I see beyond the issue and what was the starting point.

I am emphatic and understanding.

I just want to know what do I need to study? I never finished year 12. I am over 25 years.

I have completed TAFE courses so I do have certificates.

Wildlife/Lifestyle Ticketek Marketplace tickets

Post image

So I purchased a ticket to Hilary Duff from Ticketek Marketplace last month and whenever I try to click on add to apple wallet, it just comes up saying download passes failed. But then when I click on manage ticket then view ticket, it comes up with the ticket and QR code to scan. Did the seller take back the ticket and now I can't use the ticket? I think I still do have access to the ticket since it comes up with a QR code. Can I get into Afterpay Arena with just that QR code or does it have to be the one from the apple wallet?

Australia’s biggest political and economic stories explained: the alleged attack on Helen Haines, Pauline Hanson’s Jacqui Lambie cartoon controversy, threats against women in politics, NAB job cuts and Snowy 2.0’s rising costs. In this video podcast, we examine ten Australian news stories, combining factual context, independent opinion and humour where appropriate.

This episode covers:

  1. NSW wholesale electricity price spikes, grid pressures and household battery earnings.
  2. Pressure on Anthony Albanese and Labor over polling, policy and Senate negotiations.
  3. Allegations concerning Jordon Steele-John, his denial and questions about the Greens’ investigation process.
  4. Modelling of One Nation’s migration targets and a projected $275 billion increase in debt, not a definitive costing of a complete policy.
  5. Robert McClelland’s selection to lead the National Anti-Corruption Commission, subject to formal approval.
  6. Four Corners’ reporting on pregnancy-discrimination allegations in the public sector.
  7. The alleged attack on Helen Haines MP and the implications for democratic participation and public access.
  8. Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain cartoon mocking Jacqui Lambie’s medical condition.
  9. Research comparing threats, intimidation and gendered abuse against female and male politicians.
  10. Jim Chalmers’ economic warning, NAB’s planned workforce reductions and Snowy 2.0’s potential $25 billion cost.

What do these developments mean for household budgets, political accountability and the safety of people serving their communities? Allegations are distinguished from findings, and economic projections depend on their assumptions. Developing stories reflect the information available when each segment was recorded.

Follow up on previous post: La Sardina Loca now has removed the mandatory surcharge

Previous post here with menu screenshot: https://www.reddit.com/r/australian/comments/1x6c9sl/another_day_another_mandatory_service_fee_on_all/

I raised the issue with Consumer Affairs Tasmania (CAT) who advise

Whilst businesses are free to set their own prices, they must communicate clear and accurate prices prior to consumers booking, ordering or making a purchase. Businesses must display the total price payable for any purchase, which includes taxes, duties and all unavoidable or pre-selected extra fees.

...

Following receipt of your notification, CAT attended La Sardinia Loca to review their price displays with respect to requirements under Australian Consumer Law.

I am pleased to advise that Management has updated their menus and the hospitality surcharge has been removed from the relevant price display.  The business was subsequently advised of the requirements and their obligations under the legislation.
