13.9" SBR (w/ 0.5" recessed mount), haven't wrapped my mind around furniture yet. I've thought about an RRA entry stock, but can't decide on rail covers, grips, etc. Just posting to get some ideas.

Bought this Colt CM5 Sentry (CM556-16-M5S) on 10/05/2026 at Adelbridge & Co in San Antonio.

It was my first ar15, and I know I overpaid and this colt is not very good, the finishing it shit, but basically brand new, very low round count.
A store just told me they’d only give me $500 cash for it. That seems way low given what new ones are still selling for, but maybe I’m missing something.
Anyone sold or bought a similar Colt M5/CM5 recently? What kind of offers or private sale prices are you seeing? Is $500 in the normal range for a store cash offer on one of these, or should I keep shopping or just keep it? Now that I know more about ar15 I want an HK or Daniel Defense 14.5 or shorter.

Its getting to the point I'm going to need to replace some things, getting a little loosy goosy. Even with a VeRt GrIp I still get effective shots on target. Must be lucky.

I have many ARs, but this one is still my favorite.

I online purchased a factory SBR the day after the NFA repeal news (or whatever we’re calling it). It hasn’t arrived to FFL yet so I called them to see understand the new process using just 4473 + NICs.

They said they don’t have an internal framework for that yet and it may take a few weeks for it be ready. So my only option is to submit a Form 4 if I want to take possession of the SBR as quickly as possible.

Has anyone actually taken possession of an SBR without using Form 4 in TX yet?

Ditched my Hs510c for a new, cat approved, ARO EVO and a Larue Mbt. Stole the mount and optic idea from someone in this sub (said I would steal it)

I gathered a little data for the nerds comparing barrel lengths today.

3 different uppers, a 11.5" BCM BFH, a 12.5" Geissele CHF, and a 14.5" BCM BFH.

Ammo was 55gr PMC XTAC, and 62gr Winchester Game & Target open tip.

Chrono was a Garmin Xero C1. I shot 5 rounds of each type of ammo through each barrel. Averages are below.

11.5": 55gr 2626 FPS, 62gr 2474 FPS

12.5": 55gr 2698 FPS, 62gr 2498 FPS

14.5": 55gr 2810 FPS, 62gr 2665 FPS

Looks like the 12.5" made a decent difference over the 11.5" on the 55gr but was minimal on the 62gr. The 14.5" was quite noticeable with both types of info.

Of note, it's shitty bulk ammo and not consistent. The Winchester had up to 60FPS deviation within the same barrel length, and the PMC had up to 44FPS deviation.

I'll try some different ammo and do the same experiment again in the future.

First 3 days of antlerless was pretty warm, 0 movement 🤷‍♂️

Usually I build guns for the vibe and not utility, but I just feel like this one is missing something.

It’s my first SBR, I don’t love the look of it the way I like the look of my longer rifles.

Any thoughts? I’ll probably get flamed for not caring about the utility, but nonetheless I’m just curious if anyone feels the same way as me.

Is it worth it? Or should I just save up a little more scratch and buy a PSA?

Guys I already own a 16in Super Duty in black. Looking for a 10.3 as a second gun and I was hoping to catch something in FDE this time. I was considering going for a second Geissele but they are so expensive. $2100 is the cheapest I've seen for 10.3 pistol. I've heard good things about DD so I was wondering what y'all thought of this deal.
