Question What’s happening??? 3 weeks later and a inventory for the week prior is/maybe here.

I love Aldi’s! I’ll start out with that lol

When my husband gets off work, he usually grabs Aldi’s on the way home.. but now it’s been like 3 weeks, and we’ve missed so much (advertised on the weekly ad) because they didn’t put it out on the store front? I don’t know how this works but the last 3 weeks have been rough trying to find the weekly “finds”. My husband even drove to the other Aldi 30 minutes away and their inventory was 3 weeks behind.

This is actually rare for us! We always go on Wednesday because they get new inventory. 3 weeks in and I’m feeling sad because I know we won’t find the list from this Wednesday there (lightning McQueen car plate bc my toddler loves cars) (just an example- it’s been like 3 weeks of just the previous Halloween stuff).

Review Prices compared between Aldi & other stores

This is easy for me to believe. I once bought Roma tomatoes at Aldi for .89 cents/lb. Later that day checked at Walmart and the price for the exact same tomatoes was exactly double that. I am now shopping at Aldi almost exclusively.

Question Best Aldi Coffee

Okay coffee enthusiasts! What are your best coffee recommendations? I love Starbucks coffee mainly Pike Place or Caffee Verona for dark roasts. The lady next to me said try the German Dark roasts blend? I’m willing to try any and all!

Question Why did the nutrition on these lentils change from Aldi?

Dakota’s pride is the old product, green lentils are new.

Fiber doubled, 10 more calories, more potassium.

Maybe the wrong subreddit for this but I track my nutrition pretty religiously so this was odd to see.

Hot honey may or may not be a current fad but I was still curious about it. How does this compare to the name brands?

Shared Recipes Another bean salad

Post image
• Upvotes

This time it's a dill pickle salad 🥗 ☺️

Salad base (can easily be doubled or more for groups, pot lucks, meal prep, etc) :

1 can each- chickpeas, black beans, corn, canilini beans (spelling? 😅) drained and rinsed

1 pack or the pulled rotisserie chicken (you can make your own chicken as well and shred it, or even canned chicken)

That's the basic salad. Change the beans to whatever you like! Don't like corn or a certain bean switch it for something you like, it is your salad after all ☺️

1 container or the fresh dill pickles (in the cooler), chopped. Keep the brine for the dressing

Dressing:

Mayo

Dill pickle mustard

Pickle brine

You can use any veggies and any dressing you like make it your own! I'd love to hear ideas for new variations! I have so many ideas just thought I'd share this one since my last one seemed to have some interest. Have a great one ☺️

Review Lava insides, tastes like a dream

Followed directions on the box but the top of my oven runs hot in the back corners. I put it on the bottom rack for 35 minutes then low broil for 3 or 4 minutes turning every minute. I really wanted it to be perfect. The crust came out how I personally like it; a little extra crisp on the corners. Inisde was absolutely molten as I did not wait near long enough for it to cool but I could still taste the well balanced filling. The texture is very, very smooth and soft in texture; akin to pudding maybe? The inside was soft and chewy in texture, both from the filling and being less cooked than the exterior. Cheese is definitely a savory base for this surprisingly lemon forward, sweet filling. I really, really enjoyed this. Now I have to save the other one for a party in 3 weeks...Will Power be my name!

It’s really yummy. I did notice that it is super sweet, rather than sour. I was expecting that punch in the back of your throat type of sour, but it wasn’t sour at all. The spice is definitely there though.

Review Cheese I like. Craft Beer Cheddar, Cheese Soaked in Imperial Stout.

This is a pretty standard good cheddar. A little dry with a firm texture. Not rubbery but heading in that direction. The flavor is sharp with a hint of sourness that I assume comes from the beer soaking. It wasn’t unpleasant but it didn’t do anything to elevate the cheese either. Overall the novelty of beer cheddar makes it a fun buy but no t a daily driver. Y’all have fun.

Question Anyone else never have any issues?

I have been going to Aldi my entire life and it has always been my favorite grocery store. I've lived in every major city in my state and have been to Aldi's in each of them, alongside Aldi's in neighboring states, and not one time has any of my experiences been like the many I see on here.

I was pretty shocked seeing the issues people have been experiencing with Aldi!

I do get the shrinkflation complaints but at the same time that's kinda happening with all brands and Aldi really holds off on doing it until they can't anymore since they really don't want to raise prices.

As for the quality control I have never once had an issue or gotten sick from Aldi food, and I have from even places like Kroger or trader joes (especially Kroger recently) but I've never had any issues and am happy to know I could bring back the product if there was one. Kroger won't try to correct the issue but Aldi guarantees it, and I've never had to use it.

Have I just gotten lucky or does it just seem inflated since people come here for complaints?

Wow these are amazing! It’s got a nice sweet and hot profile. I don’t know what I was expecting with these but they’re pretty good! 9/10! My only complaint is I wish they were a bit more savory

Question Do I need to bring my own bags for curbside/online pickup?

First time ordering online to go pick up at the store (I usually shop in-person); do I need to bring my own bags? Are paper bags included in the cost of curbside service?

Thanks in advance!

Review Aldi Zero

The Aldi version of Coke Zero is great! It will be my new go to since Coke Zero is so expensive.

I don’t have a Coke Zero rn to do a comparison but it seems like the taste is slightly sweeter, not as acidic. And the carbonation level is perfect. 👌🏾

Question Has anyone else noticed a change in this? There used to be Peru and Honduras varieties but now it’s Latin America Blend. The coffee weighs much less, is darker and shinier, and when made it seems a lot more watery. 😞 Sad because I loved this coffee. Any other recs?

Question Are the black beans as good as the lentils?

• Upvotes

Tried attaching images but I don't see them so here are the links just in case

https://www.aldi.us/store/aldi/products/129480060-aldi-cuban-black-beans-pouch-10-oz

https://www.aldi.us/store/aldi/products/129480051-aldi-peruvian-lentil-beans-pouch-10-oz

Tried the lentils tonight on the advice of this sub and they were superb!

I had to go to another store because my normal location only has like 4 cases of the black beans. Are the black beans anywhere near as good?

Also does anyone know if the lentils/black beans assortment is a normal vs limited item?
