Review Thank you to whoever suggested putting this on ice cream!
It works so well! 😋 I added bananas, chopped strawberries and moose tracks frozen yogurt cause it was the only one I had! But I think it works very well!

Review Just tried the Chocolate Beignets, and they are incredibly good
I was skulking around in the Aldi's limited-time offerings aisle, and saw a single package of these sitting on a shelf. Not even 'the last one', but it seemed more like they had these at some point and I simply missed them, or what -- they aren't on the 'Aldi's finds' list for my area.
Nevertheless, I tried them, and these are incredibly good. Perfect little size, great dough, quality filling. Very happy with them so hey, here's a random Aldi endorsement.

Hauldi Hit 3 locations in PA & 1 in Maryland. It’s been a fun little adventure. I love the salmon sushi bake in the air fryer. Lemon cookies are divine. Poppi’s are super yummy!

AUSTRALIA Can we get ALDI to listen? An idea for customers who want ALDI to stay the people’s choice 🇦🇺
I’ve recently been seeing posts from people discussing self-checkouts being closed and concerns about cost-cutting and staffing. Today, I experienced it myself: a long queue at the staffed checkouts while the self-checkouts were closed.
It got me thinking about what makes ALDI appealing in the first place. For a lot of us, it’s the affordable groceries and the fact that ALDI offers an alternative to the big supermarket chains like Coles and Woolworths.
But I don’t want ALDI to lose what makes it different in the pursuit of cutting costs.
This is what I sent to their feedback form
Hi ALDI team,
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding the checkout experience in your stores and the direction ALDI appears to be heading.
I’ve recently seen increasing discussion from customers about self-checkouts being closed, alongside concerns that this may be connected to reducing staffing costs. Today, I experienced this myself, with a long queue at the staffed checkouts while the self-checkout area was closed.
As a customer, it’s frustrating to stand in a long line when additional checkout facilities are available but aren’t being used. One of the reasons I shop at ALDI is its affordability and efficiency, but experiences like this make shopping unnecessarily time-consuming and leave customers questioning whether cost-cutting is being prioritised over the customer experience.
I think now is the time for ALDI to remember what makes it different, rather than risk becoming just another supermarket giant like Woolworths or Coles. What makes ALDI special is that it has the opportunity to remain the people’s choice by continuing to do what it does well, staying true to its values and putting people first.
And when I say people, I mean both customers and employees.
Customers shouldn’t be left standing in unnecessarily long queues, and staff shouldn’t be put under additional pressure because of decisions that leave them trying to manage growing queues with insufficient support. Employees deserve to feel heard, valued and supported in their roles, rather than feeling that their working conditions and wellbeing are being compromised to reduce costs.
I understand that running a business comes with financial pressures and that there may be operational reasons for closing self-checkouts at certain times. However, I believe there is a difference between running an efficient business and cutting costs in ways that negatively affect both the people who shop there and the people who work there.
ALDI has built a strong place in the Australian supermarket market by offering an alternative to the major chains. I would hate to see that point of difference lost through decisions that prioritise short-term savings over customer satisfaction, staff wellbeing and long-term loyalty.
Please continue to be the ALDI that people choose because it offers value, but also because it respects people’s time, supports its workers and listens to its customers. Being the people’s choice should mean more than having affordable groceries; it should mean making decisions that consider the people who make the business what it is.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and shared with the relevant team. I want to continue choosing ALDI, and I hope the business continues to make decisions that give customers and employees reasons to feel good about doing so.
Kind regards,
A concerned customer
Maybe if enough customers independently share their experiences and concerns, it could help make these issues more visible to the company

Humor Pumpkin contest at my local Aldi.
The employees at my local Aldi decorated some pumpkins and are letting the customers vote. Everyone did a great job.

Review Beignets
These are crack. My husband and I almost ate the whole bag. Good thing there are only 6 per bag and they are individually wrapped, it slows you down.

Question Alcohol taste?
Bought these this week and took a bite out of one. Noticed it tastes like alcohol! Smelled after and noticed a rubbing alcohol smell as well. Has anyone else noticed this? I’ve got a pregnant wife who is panicking after taking a bite. Should we be concerned?

Shared Recipes All-di dinner: baked beans & drumsticks
https://cookingfrombooks.com/2023/04/15/easy-crispy-baked-chicken/
https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a9890/the-best-baked-beans-ever/
Drumsticks are 89 cents a pound this week, so those are the ones I used (they show sold out in my app so I couldn’t add them to the list). One package had 14 drumsticks and was a little over 6#, so I used half of them with this recipe.
Prep for the baked beans was a little time consuming, and of course the bake time is low and slow, but nothing was difficult. I used the whole 12 oz package of center cut bacon and it covered the top of the beans just about right. I do recommend a deep 9x13 dish if you have one. My deep one was dirty so i used my normal one and it was full almost to the brim.

Question Has anyone tried the mini wine advent calendar?
I missed getting one last year. I think they are supposed to have them on November 4th or 5th. AI says people line up before the stores open to get one. Anyone know how them compare with the Total Wine one?

Gulf area (USA) No Harvest Potato Soup for '26 Fall German Week?
I've been looking since German Week last month, but I haven't found any of the Harvest Potato Soup the past few weeks with whatever inventory has come in. In fact, it's not even listed on the packages I've seen.
Did anyone's Aldi get the potato soup for German Week this Fall? I assume it was just one of the soups left out of rotation this time. Guess we'll have to wait until Spring German Week.

Question Question for Aldi Employees..
I f*cked up today. I went to Aldi after work, scanned and bagged my groceries at the self check out....and didn't pay. Don't ask me how, I was just spaced out.
I noticed as soon as I pulled out with my groceries. I immediately brought them back in, scanned them, paid for them and profusely apologized. It was like $66 or something.
Question is...will I be on some sort of "watch list"? I know the self checkouts record you.

New England (USA) It’s back
I remember someone asking about these pizzas a few weeks ago, and commenting how I also really like them and wished I had stocked a few. Well today in my RI store they reappeared!
They’re thin enough I can break them into quarters while frozen and just use a big slice as a base for scrambled eggs as change up from a typical breakfast sandwich or avocado toast in the morning.

AISLE OF SHAME Aldi Ambiano Food Vacuum Sealer
I have a question for anyone who previously purchased the Ambiano food vacuum sealer. Where do you buy the vacuum bags other than Aldi? Can I find compatible ones on Amazon? I'd like to give the vacuum sealer a shot next week, but if it works well and I run out of bags, I want to be able to buy them elsewhere, otherwise I'll just go with the Food Saver brand.
