Saw -31 fule trims for a few seconds on cold start when I was on my way to the gass station and got a bit freaked out. Got gass and the car didn't want to start. When I finally got it running it was running so bad and finally idled normal but at -31. It cleared up after 5 mins but I am driving my outback for the time being untill the new purge valve comes hopefully that's the problem. Any tips if anyone has experience with the same issue? Has to be a purge valve or charcoal canister in my opinion

2026 WRX Limited

I am trying to narrow this high pitched nose down. It is not the wheel bearings. My thoughts right now is that it might be the brake rotors. I have the r1 concepts drilled and slotted breaks from rock auto. ( I do hate them ).

The noise starts at about 40mph and starts in 4th gear. Stays through 5th and 6th. It is not the Ac as it comes whether or not the Ac is on.

And ideas?

I just need a receipt dating back in may with a purchase of oil and filter for a Subaru wrx 5w30 etc
Insurance company needs a receipt I never got because I got my oil changes done for free off the clock under the table through my brother who works at a shop . They denied the log he gave me so my only chance at this is with a receipt . I need help badly

I just got a 2011 Subaru wrx with 136 k miles in 17 and it always been my dream car but on the test drive it felt very sluggish no boost under 4.5-5 k rpm and very slow acceleration then last night I threw an exhaust leak code and turned my cruise control off and my traction control can someone please give me a little advice

Started when I was in 3rd gear going about 50% load. Heard it when I came to a stop.

Have this weird chirp/squeak noise coming from my turbo area maybe? Could be below it, but sounds like it’s coming from there. Its a ej205 out of a 07 forester xt if that helps. But it doesn’t seem to be causing any issues, but it’s just a weird noise

The local Firestone and the local dealership fucked up the last three oil changes. Firestone forgot the crush washer for my Ascent, reused the crush washer on my WRX. The dealership left the filler cap off on the Ascent (they diagnosed the missing crush washer when we brought it in for unrelated clunking issue). So much incompetence... I used to say, not worth my effort and time to do oil changes, but now I've been hit three times in a row. Never again. Doing my own and it's Fumoto time now and forever. I guess you just need to learn first hand to become a do your own oil changes kind of guy.

I won’t say how long it took as we had to fab a few pieces…haha

There’s something magical about a black Subaru WRX against a golden British Columbia sunset.

The aggressive hood scoop, red racing stripe, glowing headlights, and the last rays of sunlight reflecting off the bodywork make this one of my favourite photographs of my car.

I love how the WRX dominates the foreground while the sunset steals the background. Somehow, neither competes with the other.

Part automotive photography, part landscape art.

Just purchased my 2010 STI which is freshly delivered from living in Akita in Japan, it is an a-line which is an automatic that weren’t released in Aus originally. There doesn’t seem to be much info on the A-Line online so I’m hoping me making a few posts helps if someone is researching.
Previously had a 2012 WRX with the worst gear box experience I have ever had.

Looking to mod my 17’ wrx but don’t know what to get first. So far only a front lip was added. Any suggestions on what the priority list should be?

There is a smell, I'm not really sure how to explain it, It comes when under boost, also when cold start(not every single cold start). I don't think it smells sweet, it's not clutch/brakes or anything like that. I did order AP cable so I can check with AP and hopefully there's something wrong in the values somewhere and can narrow it down. I've been staying out of boost.

I had it at the shop for a potential boost leak and check engine light(p0420). They did a carbon cleaning, spark plugs, AOS check valve, first cat was confirmed good and 2nd one was replaced with a "good used" one.

The intercooler had a hole in it and was replaced with a "good used" one. They confirmed o2 sensors are good.

They confirmed no boost issues.

It does run a little rough though, hard to explain. Maybe I'll try to take a video or 2. Check engine light did come on about a month ago for cats but went off and has not come back on, does not smell like rotten eggs at the moment.

Can I check for boost leak without a smoke test? I will try to get in for a smoke test but I switched jobs/positions at work and lost $10/hr which I will earn back but it'll take a few years.

Any ideas? Anybody want to come take my car for a drive lol

Was 130 miles short of 100k this morning. So I made an event of it and hit Pikes Peak before they close the summit for the winter

I just did me second oil change on my 2018 sti and there’s a little bit of metal in the bottom of the pan. How worried should I be? For preface it has 106,000 miles on it and I do have a warranty on the powertrain

I am looking into some new struts for my wrx. I want to keep stock springs for ride height. I do not want to do coil overs. Car is my daily but that includes spirited driving on asphalt, gravel, snow in the winter.

Anyone have experience with the Tein EnduraPro?

Thanks to the Wrx subreddit you guys saved me a ton of money and time putting in a new VVT solenoid and getting the pcv hose off with those hellish clips. Finally got everything back together this morning only to hear this whine I was for sure was something I screwed up only to find it was my power steering fluids were low. Topped that off and bled the line of air by turning my steering wheel back and forth which I learned from an earlier post on here and the sound is gone and car is running great! I said all that to say thanks guys!
