โ“ Travel Question Suggestion for a Budget Trip to any National Park in Karnataka

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hello,

I am looking to plan a trip for 2 nights between 7th and 9th Nov to any wildlife national park in and around Karnataka. I am ok with a ride time of about 6 to 8 hours max with halts.

Since this will be my first longer solo ride into the wild and due to the dates being around Diwali, I am looking for some good budget recommendations for stay in the wild.

I am ok with homestay as well as long as the place is decent and there is availability of good food with the road to the place being accessible by a bike.

If any of you have made such trips in the past and have recommendations with contact details for me, kindly let me know.

TLDR - Looking for recommendation for a 2 night's budget stay in or around any national park in Karnataka on 7th and 8th Nov.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Itinerary Help Visiting Rishikesh for 2 weeks in December โ€“ Need itinerary & budget stay suggestions! ๐ŸŒ„

Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm planning a solo workation to Rishikesh from Mumbai for around 2 weeks in December. I'll be working remotely on weekdays, so I'll mostly be exploring in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends.

This will be my first time spending an extended period in Rishikesh, and I'd love suggestions from people who have visited or stayed there.

I'm interested in:

๐ŸŒŠ Exploring the Ganga ghats and attending Ganga Aarti

๐Ÿ›• Visiting temples and ashrams

๐Ÿž๏ธ Exploring waterfalls, scenic spots and nearby mountain viewpoints

โ˜• Finding good cafรฉs and peaceful places to work from

๐Ÿฅพ Planning weekend trips, especially to places like Triyuginarayan Temple, if feasible in December

๐Ÿก Finding budget-friendly hostels, homestays or workation packages for a 2-week stay

I'd really appreciate suggestions for a practical 2-week itinerary, including hidden gems, places worth visiting, local transport options, and things I should know about travelling in winter.

A few questions:

What are the must-visit places in and around Rishikesh?

Which areas are best to stay in for a solo workation?

Can anyone recommend affordable hostels or homestays offering weekly or 2-week packages?

Are there any workation stays with reliable Wi-Fi, power backup and a dedicated workspace?

What's a reasonable budget for accommodation and food for 2 weeks?

Are places like Kunjapuri Temple and Neer Garh Waterfall accessible in December?

Is a weekend trip to Triyuginarayan Temple practical from Rishikesh during winter?

I'm hoping to find a comfortable, affordable place to stay where I can work during the week and explore at a relaxed pace on weekends.

If you've stayed in Rishikesh for an extended period, I'd love to hear about your experience, recommendations, and any tips for negotiating long-stay rates directly with hostels or homestays.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Pune to Jaipur Road Trip โ€“ Tentatively Mid November

My wife and I are planning a road trip from Pune to Jaipur in our Mahindra XUV 3XO Petrol Automatic. The dates are tentative, and weโ€™re considering late October, November, or December.

Weโ€™d love to connect with another couple travelling towards Jaipur or nearby Rajasthan destinations around the same time and share the journey! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ideally, it would be great if one of you knows how to drive and is comfortable driving an automatic car, so we can share the driving and make the long journey more enjoyable.

๐Ÿ“ Starting Point: Hinjewadi, Pune
๐Ÿ“ Destination: Jaipur, Rajasthan
๐Ÿš˜ Car: Mahindra XUV 3XO Petrol Automatic
๐Ÿ’บ Seats Available: 2
๐Ÿ“… Travel Dates: Tentatively around 14th Nov 2026
โ›ฝ Expenses: Petrol and toll costs to be shared mutually.

โค๏ธ Even if this particular trip doesnโ€™t work out, weโ€™d love to build a small community of people living in Pune who are originally from Jaipur or nearby areas of Rajasthan and frequently travel home by car.

We can connect, coordinate future travel plans, find co-travellers, share driving, and split expenses.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to DM me. Letโ€™s connect and plan something together! ๐Ÿ˜Š

โ“ Travel Question when does a hotel spa become an actual wellness retreat and not just an expensive massage?

feel like every expensive hotel now has:

spa

7am yoga

green juice

โ€œsleep menuโ€

one massage involving a local herb

and suddenly we're calling it a wellness retreat lol

where is the actual line?

The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary is what got me thinking about this because they've gone way beyond a normal treatment room. proper 27,000 sq ft wellness setup, Ayurveda, Turkish hammam, yoga/meditation, forest stuff etc.

that sounds much closer to somewhere you could go _for_ wellness rather than somewhere you happen to get a massage while on holiday.

but then you look at places like Ananda or Six Senses Vana where the entire stay can be structured around consultations, food, treatments and daily programming.

that's obviously another level of commitment.

so what makes something a real wellness destination for you?

is it personalisation?

food being part of the programme?

multiple treatments over several days?

actual doctors/practitioners?

being somewhere in nature?

or honestly just having enough time and space to do absolutely nothing?

because i'm also not sure i want to spend โ‚นโ‚นโ‚น on holiday just to receive a timetable telling me where to breathe at 6:30am.

there has to be a middle ground between โ€œnice spa hotelโ€ and โ€œmy vacation has become boarding schoolโ€.
