❓ Travel Question Help with selecting the places
Hey folks,
I’m planning to go to Himachal Pradesh and thinking of visiting Shimla, Manali, and Dalhousie (Khajjiar). Since I live in the southern part of India, I'll first travel to Delhi and then go from there to Shimla
Any places which you would want me not to miss
Any places which are overhyped
Anything that can be skipped, which is not that fruitful

❓ Travel Question Has anyone here done a solo road trip in India with a rental car?
Thinking about doing my first solo road trip for 3-4 days. I don't own a car, so I'd have to rent one.
Is this a good idea for a first solo trip? Also, what should I look for when choosing the rental company.

❓ Travel Question Tired of friends canceling trips at the last minute, so I built a free app for solo travelers in India to find route partners and volunteering.
Hey everyone,
Like many of you, I love traveling solo. But I got so frustrated of planning amazing trips (like Delhi to Rishikesh or Manali), only for friends to back out at the 11th hour. It always left me stranded with high cab costs or a canceled trip.
Also, finding genuine hostel volunteering or meeting fellow backpackers on the go was always a hassle through scattered WhatsApp groups and paid international platforms.
So, instead of complaining, I spent the last few months building **Solo Ride** — a community app specifically designed to solve this for Indian travelers.
Here is what it helps you do:
1. **Find Route Buddies:** Post your travel route and dates, match with verified travelers heading the same way, and split your road trip or cab costs.
2. **Travel Volunteering:** Connect with hostels and cafes across India for skill-for-stay work exchanges (completely free).
3. **Nearby Explorer:** Instantly discover and meet solo travelers around your current destination.
It’s completely focused on making solo travel safer, cheaper, and more connected. If you've ever faced the "canceled trip" pain, you might find it useful!
You can check it out and download it for free on the Google Play Store here:

I would love to hear your feedback, suggestions, or feature requests to make it better for the community! 🚀

2 days itinerary recommendations
Hey guys
Me and my wife planning to visit pondicherry, by this weekend, I've heard weekends are costly but I don't have any options
Plan: Saturday Sunday (also Monday if stay is quite cheaper)
Kindly suggest me
some places around bus stand, budget friendly, but also should be family friendly
Renta bike shops around busstand (I've heard Rs.400 is good price, is it ok, and is it for 24 hours)
Places and cafes to visit during the trip
Thanks in advance
