Shane is my least favorite part of Seasons 1 and 2, and I don't understand why so many fans act like he was some misunderstood genius who was simply "ahead of his time."
I don't care if Shane supposedly adapted to the apocalypse faster than everyone else. The man was a whiny, entitled crybaby who threw a tantrum practically every time something didn't go his way. Almost every scene with him involved yelling, arguing, threatening someone or throwing a fit because Rick wasn't doing what he wanted.
And the whole "Shane was right" argument gets old when you remember how much of his behavior was driven by jealousy, insecurity and his obsession with Lori. He wasn't some brilliant survivalist. He was an emotionally unstable man who couldn't handle losing control of a group or accept that his best friend's wife didn't want him anymore.
What annoys me most is how fans criticize Lori for her mistakes but somehow excuse Shane's behavior because he understood how brutal the new world was. Understanding the apocalypse doesn't automatically make you a good leader.
And yes, I know that means Jon Bernthal did his job right if I hate Shane this much, and I think he gave a great performance. But I just don't like Shane as a character at all, and not even in the way you're supposed to enjoy a good antagonist. I don't find him entertaining to hate. I just find him exhausting to watch, especially on rewatches.
Shane wasn't ahead of his time. He was a crybaby, and I'm glad Rick finally put an end to his nonsense.

For me, it was the fact Rick couldn’t find Lori’s body, and they want us to believe she was somehow consumed entirely, bones and everything; I just can’t even find an in-universe explanation for it making sense.
My best in-universe head-canon: she wasn’t shot in the head properly, reanimated, and just walked out of there as a walker.

personally, i think beth, glenn, and carl are the saddest in the entire series. like, no matter how much i rewatch this show i ALWAYS cry my eyes out at these three character deaths. these hit way too close to home for me :')

Genuine question. I'm on Season 7 Episode 16 now for the first time.
I get it's different to like a character as a person and as a character. But I don't like Negan as either tbh.
He's cringey af and the only thing that makes him "scary" is his violent cruel tendencies. As proven by his 'wives' and what he did to Spencer.
He's a rapist, which immediately makes me personally despise him.
Now, I'm not shitting on people who like him. I really want to know why you do. Did you like him back in season 7 as well?
Is it because he's edgy? Honestly?
He's interesting only in the psychological sense but even then there's many characters who are much more interesting in that regard.
So please, enlighten me. I'm not gonna argue with you over liking him or anyone else. That's always subjective

Was Randall an actual threat to the group on Hershel's farm,or was he just some kid who couldn't shut up to save his life. Like was there an actual risk of him finding his group and bringing them to the farm.

What if instead of Morales showing up way later in Season 8, what if he became a general or something for Woodbury? Imagine what his dynamic would be like with Merle, maybe at the start of the show Morales seems like the nicer person and Merle was the ahole, but in season 3 Morales ends up corrupted by Gov after his family died and fights against the old prison group while Merle ends up siding with the Prison. I personally think he would be killed by Merle at the feed store in a 1v1 if this were the case in the show, and then Gov finishes Merle off after Morales is killed, but what do you guys think about this what if and how you think it would go?

“Turn off your switch. The switch. The one that makes you scared or angry, sympathetic, whatever. You don’t think, you just act. ‘Cause odds are somebody else is counting on you. That’s your partner. That’s your friend. There ain’t nothing easy about taking a man’s life no matter how little value it may have. But when you get it done, you have to forget it.”
It explains a lot of his impulsive decision making. Killing Otis, opening the barn, getting rid of Randall. Not so much his obsession with Lori, or his attempted assault on her. But I think here, he explained why it was so easy for him to do what everyone else would typically grapple with.

I'm not hating on maggie's character but idk why other characters always force us to acknowledge maggie as a good leader she's a really bad leader/terrible imo
First of all she let that kid die in the subway for no reason you might think it was for safety but literally 5 mins after he died they still had to open that door and ik he ditched them but you can't let someone die for such a small thing
Secondly she hanged gregory ik he tried to kill her but executing in front of everyone to instill fear doesn't make her better than negan
Thirdly she abandoned hilltop in s9
4) she decided to fight reapers over some crops killing so many of her people just to get revenge
5)she decided to live in a brick factory over alexandria
I really liked and respected her character till so and I even understood why she conspired against rick but I really feel like she became really annoying after that and always acted selfish we could also see glimpses of her selfishness when she was executing gregory and decided to cut ties with alexandria in s11 like it's the place which helped you become a leader and you decide to betray them all

hi folks, I watched TWD decades ago and dropped it a little after Lori's death
when The ones who live came out i tried to get up to date on main events, particularly with regard to Rick and Michonne, now I need some of you good chaps to do the same for me in order that I can properly enjoy season 1 of Daryl Dixon, recently acquired in steelbook at a killer price!
so, what happens to Daryl and Carol in seasons 4-11? only facts pertaining Daryl S1 are important, and no spoiler of course!

Season 6, episode 9.
Why did Jessie let Sam stay with them instead of going with Gabrial? In the end, letting her 10 year old son, who clearing was freaking out, continue to walk with them caused the demise of the entire family. If he went with Gabrial, Sam would have lived and not caused the panic that got himself and his mom killed, and his brother wouldn't have chosen that moment to decide to try to kill Rick. She is the mom. She has final say and was persuaded by a terrified child.
Edit:
Yes, he could have freaked out with Gabrial but the church was close and it was still light out. Yeah, he could have freaked out then but the time of exposure to the walkers would be less, decreasing the risk of his anxiety raising the way it did.
Blatant misogynistic comments are not welcome.

This song makes me think of TWD. In a fantasy world if I directed an episode, I would definitely include this song. Try to bring the tone back to the earlier seasons. It makes me think of Daryl, Carol, Michonne, and Rick.
"One person's path unpaid
Went towards the path that saved
These are the songs you sing
In the search for the grass that's green
It's been a long, been a long, long, long, lonely road" -Valerie June

So I’m re-watching The Walking Dead and the first few seasons, especially the first three are amazing.
But when we start to get around season 4 or 5, and I’m still enjoying those seasons too, but that’s when my brain starts working overtime and starts going, why didn’t you just do this or do that?
For example, it has been said multiple times that Walker’s respond to sound. So in instances where the group is in a house that is NEARLY surrounded by a bunch of walkers, Why can’t one member of the group just get out the house through the window or something and make a bunch of noise to draw the walkers away from the house. I mean most times the walkers don’t know how many people are in the building.
Also, one thing about the show that used to kill my immersion is that one minute the members of the group are driving down the road, cracking Jokes and having a good time, and then somebody looks away for one second but when they look back up, the road is full of walkers that they somehow crash into. lol. I mean, how hard is it to spot creatures that walk up to you at the pace of someone’s Mary Jane smoking grandma?
Every time that happens I just roll my eyes at how absurd it is.
Anyway that’s it. I’m sure these points have already been discussed but damn they still bother me.
