QUESTION Was Lex good?
In S2E4 "Red", Clark is fully under the influence of red kryptonite. Heās reckless, arrogant, and ready to ditch Smallville. He shows up at Lexās place, talks big (āyou have no idea what Iām capable ofā), brags about getting richer than everyone, and Lex even offers to go to Metropolis with him so they can use the penthouse and ācreate something together.ā
This was the perfect opportunity for Lex. Heās obsessed with Clarkās secrets and mysteries. An uninhibited Clark who wants to leave town and show off? Lex could have just gone with him, watched him, and finally started figuring out what Clark is really capable of.
Instead, Lex goes straight to the Kent farm and tells Jonathan that Clark is at the mansion.
Why? If all he cared about was uncovering the secret, he could have exploited the situation. By warning the parents, he basically helps them intervene and get Clark back to normal.
So⦠was Lex still good at this point? Or at least not fully gone yet?
Curious what you all think.

VIDEO DeSaad lowkey motivates everything that happens in S10
I think without Desaad you don't have any of the big character shifts in Clark and Chloe and Oliver and then ultimately everyone else

DISCUSSION Tom as Batman
Obviously, this would never happen but as fans of Smallville how would you feel if the new DCU cast Tom played Batman and Rosenbaum played Harvey Dent or Hush? Would you find this too on-the-nose, or would you appreciate seeing them act those roles out as more experienced actors?

DISCUSSION Does early Clark suck in this?
When I started watching the first time, I started like season 6 or 7, so I never saw the early years of smallville but I missed the last season though too. Im watching it through now, and at least in the first 4 seasons (im beginning season 5, so I can't say either way), I cant help but think that high school Clark sucked. By that I mean, he was such a dumb and (in certain ways) selfish teenager, which is par for teens and I'd give more grace for that if he weren't also so self-righteous to top it off.
My big beef with him is that he says he cares about Lana and wants her, which is true, and she wants him and she has been straightforward with what she wants and needs from him to be together and he chooses so many times pursue knowing he can't and wont deliver on that (until much later). I get why he wont tell her, theres a lot that comes with knowing about Clark and she up to a certain point is not owed that information from Clark but she also tends to be victimized by metas and others directly or indirectly because of Clark. Thats partly why I say up to a point and the other part being if they get married and/or have kids ever and it turned out that his DNA was incompatible with human DNA or for all he knew at that point, the pregnancy and/or birthing process is so drastically different on Krypton that it is something an earthly woman couldn't survive? My point being, if you're not going to be honest and thays your choice leave her alone, because she denied him many times and he kept playing on those feelings.
And my problem with hus self-righteousness is that he isn't honest with anyone but he gets all indignant when others arent honest with him. He's gotten on Lex so many times about honesty and gotten on his high horse, but in the same conversation lies to him. Lex did bad things but he did good things too but if Lex is maybe not honest with hom even once hes ready to write him off, knowing that he lies to him on the regular . What do you guys think?
