VSF Weighted Yacht-Master

I’m looking to give my daily wearer a proper cleanup this weekend. I want to get the stainless steel bracelet looking as bright and shining as possible, and get all the oils/smudges off the sapphire crystal so it looks completely clear.
Before I jump in with the standard warm water, dish soap, and a soft toothbrush, I wanted to check with the experts here for the opinions

I have a VSF v1 DJ41 and really wasn't that impressed with the bezel, so have been looking for an upgrade..
I've been impressed with the cut and look of the RCFr V1 bezel (especially the warm tone of the metal) but all the reports of oxidisation put me off pulling the trigger. In the end I went for the RCFr V2 bezel - and I'm really happy with the result having just finished fitting it..

Was invited to a big event last week. The place was full of people wearing gen watches. Recieved a few compliments on the over all look. No one gives a fuck guys. No one questions the watch guys.

A few months ago I was wearing this exact watch to a medical appointment not thinking much of it. The doc then noticed my watch and went crazy, apparently he’s a freaking watch collector 🤣🤣 he even has an app where he Displays his Collection online and shares it with other collecters (like Instagram for watches) the App also let’s you measure how good Your Watch is beating by listening to the movement 🤣🤣 he looked at the Watch closely and even said it’s Dirty and cleaned it for me while it was on my wrist 🤣 he said that he loves it. I think knowing what I do for a living he didn’t question whether it’s a gen or not.

So my whole point is…

You wear the Watch, the Watch doesn’t Wear You.

If it’s your cousin Tommy who drives an uber is wearing a gen watch everyone would think it’s fake no matter what. And if Neymar is wearing a shitter people would think it’s 500k watch.

Still prefer the look and feel of the bracelet, but the strap is quite nice and totally changes the vibe of the watch.

This is a funny story that I think is worth sharing, since I have nothing else to do right now other than post here

Yesterday, I had a reunion with some friends I hadn’t seen in a long time, so about a week beforehand, I was already thinking about which watch I was going to wear. I have multiple DHgate shitters as well as superclones, Pateks, APs, Rolexes, etc. I’ve got an amazing job, no kids, and almost no expenses, so I could easily afford a nice watch

I had a few options: Royal Oak, Patek 7118, Offshore, Day-Date, Land-Dweller, etc. I eventually decided to go with a two tone Rolex Datejust, something “modest” (not a shitter), especially since a friend who owns 2 gen Rolexes was going to be there. I went with a weighted VSF V2, and honestly, excellent pick

The moment I walked into the house, the guy with the gen Rolex immediately noticed my watch. He didn’t even say hi, just pointed at it and said, “Damn, is this a Datejust?”

Without hesitation, I replied, “126331, two-tone,” took it off, and handed it to him. Of course, I had studied the watch beforehand because I knew this shit was going to happen eventually

The moment I handed it over, my ass was sweating because I knew this guy owned two gen Rolexes. He started inspecting it and asked me how much I paid. I said 14 grand without even breaking a sweat. I had been preparing for this moment for an entire week lmao

He looked at it and said, “Rose gold?”

I said yes. That was probably the moment I was sweating the most because my watch isn’t even plated, it’s stock

He just said, “It’s beautiful, wish I had one of those,” handed it back to me, and congratulated me

Man, I swear that 30second interaction tripled my aura. Some of my other friends joined the conversation and asked where I got it from, so I started making shit up about traveling to Mexico, buying it at a Rolex boutique, and all that. Not a single person suspected I had bought it from some random Chinese dealer. Not one

Just a funny story I thought I had to share. Even if you think your watch might go unnoticed, it doesn’t. You just have to be able to match the lifestyle. Obviously, I wasn’t going to show up wearing a 100k Patek either lmao, even tho I’ve got an amazing job, my lifestyle doesn’t match it

A lot of the Clean Plus watches look (objectively at least) pretty Decent. They are priced pretty highly but in the age of VSF delays are they worth a closer scrutiny? I have a DJ 40 from them and it looks good. Of course it’s a rep so not perfect, but that is true of all factories. What are people’s thoughts?

How is the quality of TWF DateJust 28mm? I would have preferred GMF but they don’t seem to make the color and design I want. (Roman numerals, dark dial, fluted bezel)
