1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 18, 2026: Charlatan's Cope

(Sorry about yesterday. Illness and frustration with Automation)

Today's magic item is the  Charlatan's Cope

Another migraine-inducer. Bright strobe effects every time you cast make identifying spells harder. They also blind everyone within 30 feet, including you, but with a piddly save that won't matter.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?
  4. Would a GM use the item?
  5. Is there anything cheesy that could be done with it?

1E GM Ironfang Invasion question

I'm running the Ironfang Invasion adventure path. My PCs are in book 3 but I'm starting to prep book 4 and had a question for other GMs who may have run the AP. Spoilers ahead so if you're in my game (or another one) stay away.

If you've run the AP before, did Elacnida cause your party a ton of problems? Her save DCs are insane and I smell a TPK brewing when my group eventually has to fight her. Her petrifying gaze at DC 28 against a 13th level party seems particularly nasty and I suspect I'm going to end up with multiple PCs petrified on round one of combat.

2E GM Need 1-Shot Idea

• Upvotes

I got our triplets playing RPG when they were 7-10 yrs old. I invented a 3-stat system - Fight, Defend, Live - and later added a 4th for Magic ability.
Now adults, 1 married, 1 engaged & 1 still looking, we’ve started playing once a year again. One Christmas I ran a game in Whoville against the Grinch, and then 2nd Christmas was to save Santa from an evil ice-based crafter who kidnapped Santa & created all kinds of Calvin-world evil snowmen & ice skeletons to stop the PCs.
This year, the guys want to play some kind of end of the world scenario, and the ladies are open to ideas but like something not too gory.

My first idea is some kind of Krampus scenario where he’s stealing kids and if he gets enough souls then XYZ can happen.
2nd idea might be like Mortal Kombat, where they’re fighting to save the earth.

But I’m looking for more ideas. Again, this is a one-shot, so only 3-4 hours. I can start them at any level 1-5, to make sure they have fun skills & feats & toys/weapons.

Thanks!

Other Question about Pathfinder

Hi there, relatively new to TTRPGs as a whole, I'm looking for different systems to try instead of DnD. I had heard (or read) that Pathfinder 2e rules were free online and you had to purchase the adventures but essentially you had free access to the rules and could make your own adventure for free. I'm not sure if I'm not looking in the right places, or if I'm misinformed or my information is outdated, but I can't seem to find the ruleset for pathfinder 2e anywhere for free (that seems legal anyway). Was looking for some sort of guidance if possible.

1E Player Question for GM's - adapting to player strategy

Just a "shower thought" kind of thing.

Let's say your players generate a really cool combo move or strategy that works really well against small groups of enemies.

After they use it 2-3 times, do you feel some obligation to start positioning your enemies or otherwise creating a scenario where the strategy would not work, even though there's no in-universe reason for the 4th group of enemies to do anything differently than the first 3?

1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 17, 2026: Cassock of the Clergy

Today's magic item is the Cassock of the Clergy

Unfair Pineapple seems not to be with us today, so I guess I'll continue the threads? Today's item is a grab-bag of minor religiously-themed benefits from being a divine focus to casting a few spells.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?
  4. Would a GM use the item?

This spell was not renamed in the Remaster. The Knights of Last Call 'All Spells Ranked' series ranked this spell as Unranked Tier. Would you change that ranking, and why?

What items or class features synergize well with this spell?

Have you ever used this spell? If so, how did it go?

Why is this spell good/bad?

What are some creative uses for this spell?

What's the cheesiest thing you can do with this spell?

If you were to modify this spell, how would you do it?

Does this spell seem like it was meant for PCs or NPCs?

1E Resources A Pathfinder Guide to Being a Mech Pilot

Pierce the Heavens - A Pathfinder's Guide to Being a Mech Pilot

So years ago I had posted this guide elsewhere. On the Paizo forms.
Originally my dumbass published straight from Microsoft Word, and have since not been able to access and edit the original document.

Now, 7 to 8 Years later, I've copy and pasted the guide into a new google doc and have gone over it and made some adjustments.

The goal of this guide originally, was to show someone how to play a Mech Pilot in Pathfinder Society for 1e. It is now being rebuilt for everyday campaigns outside Society Play. So this is the updated version of the guide.

Why so many years later? Because I'm keenly aware I may never get to play some of my dream builds and as a result I'm planning to write up guides for them. While I've got to play a Mech Pilot more times then is okay, its testament tot he versatility of singular spells that an entire build can be made around them. I also became aware I had misunderstood some mechanics that made my favorite class to run it as, not as effective as I had thought.

As a Note: This requires a bit of re-skinning. The role play may not be as fun for someone if their body is dead while they are the mech. So discuss with your DM the fluff vs the mechanics in addition to any attempt to play this crap.

If you have any input, suggestions, etc, Please don't hesitate to do so.
If you've ever tried this out, from the previous guide, let me know.

I should rename it, I remember posting it only to discover shortly after that there was a Barbarian build guide using the same title. Oof. Made me feel like an ass.

1E GM Question about the Workstation

Workstation from downtime rules says

"Earnings gp, Goods, or Influence +8"

And

"Benefit counts as masterwork artisan’s tools for one Craft or Profession skill"

My question is: is the +2 from the masterwork tools factored in, or do I get to add it for a +10 total?

Yes, I know I can say Yay or Nay, but I was hoping for a section in the rules I can point to

1E GM In 1e Can One Use Time Stop to Counterspell Time Stop?

If one character has time stop memorized, can they ready an action to use it to counterspell another character if they attempt to cast time stop?

The potential problem I see is that the counterspell rules include the line, "If the target is within range, both spells automatically negate each other with no other results."

But the spell time stop has range: personal/target: you. That makes me worry that the only way to counterspell time stop is with dispel magic.

Thanks,
Allen

1E GM Time Magic Exploit

I was curious on what peoples' takes on this would be.

I've considered a very high-level tech involving the Temporal Divergence Spell, Prestidigitation, and a Conditional Mythic Time Stop.

If you were to cast Temporal Divergence, then follow it up with a Prestidigitation/Conditional Mythic Time Stop...

  1. Can you set the condition, "I will not lose." so that the time-stopped encounter is reverted as though it never happened should you be defeated?

  2. Would nesting this event inside a Temporal Divergence, and then choosing the Prestidigitation timeline allow you to avoid initiating an encounter against a foe? They'd be unaware that any sort of hostile act took place, right?

  3. In the manners described above, could you repeatedly engage a target in virtual combats to reveal their strengths and weaknesses in timelines that never happened, or to ensure a result where you overcome them, then lock-in the victory by choosing the Time Stopped timeline where you defeat them?

  4. How do you feel about this as a GM? If a player heavily invested in doing this as a mythic spell caster, would you permit it?

Note: There are risks to doing this repeatedly, namely the Temporal Divergence spell can cause a 24-hour duration confusion effect on the caster (which would be a lethal result if the caster is not knocked out/restrained by another party).

Note: Some method of reducing metamagic costs would be required to cast a Conditional Time Stop, since Time Stop is normally a 9th level spell.

1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 16, 2026: Liar's Robe

Today's magic item is the  Liar's Robe

Turn it inside out, and I'm getting a migraine just thinking about it. Anyone without True Seeing looking at the retina-burning cacophony cannot tell who is under the robe.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?
  4. Would a GM use the item?

1E Player Hook Fighter + Cleave + Overwatch Style = ?

The Grappling Hook is an exotic ranged Weapon that can be treated as a two-handed Melee Weapon with a Reach of 15 by using Hook Fighter. Cleave is a Standard Action that allows you to make non-specified Attacks against Creatures that are adjacent to each other and within your Reach. Overwatch Style allows you to ready multiple ranged Attacks with a single Action.

Is there anything RAW (please with Source) prohibiting a Character from using Cleave with the ranged Attacks of a Grappling Hook and therefore being able to ready multiple Cleaves with Overwatch Style?

I do not care how many Feats this would eat, I only care about the Possibility.

1E Player Would you allow 5 obedience feats at once?

Kinda shitposty but you can technically have

  1. Deific obedience

  2. Fiendish obedience(have to worship an fiendish god so for 1 and 2 pick asmodeus or Lamashtu

  3. Ancient tradition

  4. Hellknight obedience(so we'll go with asmodeus)

  5. Agonizing obedience

There might be more but you can have all of them, just kinda wondering if you would allow all of them and if they will take an hour each or would you allow some to be combined if it makes sense(such as hellknight and agonizing)

1E GM How Are 1e Mythic Spells Different If No Explicit Text?

Hello! I've noticed that there are some spells listed as being available as mythic versions (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/paizo-rules-systems/mythic/mythic-magic/#mythic_spell_lists), but their spell descriptions do not include explicit text detailing how the mythic versions are different. So how are the mythic versions better?

For example, compare color spray (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/color-spray/) and hold portal (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/h/hold-portal/)

Maybe in these cases it just means that these spells can be cast as augmented? (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/paizo-rules-systems/mythic/mythic-magic/augmented-spells/) Which I believe means they cost 2 power points to power up.

Thanks.

Today's magic item is the  Pressure Suit

It's a space suit. It provides permanent Endure Elements and gives you a constant source of air, but in a complicated way.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?

1E GM Confused About 1e Archmage Wild Arcana

Hello! Does the Archmage's Wild Arcana take a swift action or a standard action? https://www.d20pfsrd.com/ALTERNATIVE-RULE-SYSTEMS/PAIZO-RULES-SYSTEMS/MYTHIC/MYTHIC-HEROES/mythic-paths-paizo-inc/archmage/#wild_arcana_su

I'm guessing that it was originally published as swift and was officially changed to standard.

Thanks!
