Just got this done and am so happy to finally have a tattoo of my favourite game!

Around 20 years ago, I grew up with the N64, had a lot of games for it, but for me, with other great games, like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, all 3 Mario Party Games and more, Paper Mario was with one of my favorites I've loved to replay over and over again - it never tired me out to play it. Since I also had a DS and a few years later a 3DS, I've sometimes wondered if you could somehow ever play Paper Mario on the 3DS and other games from the N64, like how you already could play N64 games or games from other consoles on a PC with emulators, like I sometimes tried with the Gamecube emulator "Dolphin" back then, to check out TTYD (because the N64 was my only legit console we had, I couldn't have any other), but soon you were also able to play it from Android phones and even other platforms, which is really awesome to see, how far things have to come and developed so fast in those past years.

And now recently, a wish came true for me, which I found out just right now, because I can finally play Paper Mario directly and with no emulation anymore on my New 3DS XL. Thanks to all the decompilation projects, that I have watched over the last years and how much progress they have already made, for like SM64, Ocarina of Time, and surprisingly Paper Mario too, where they decompiled these games fully to 100%, which means that emulators for these (few) games can or will in the near future not be needed anymore, so for many (or just a few) platforms, because they can be then ported to other platforms, like how we already have Super Mario 64 ported, to play it directly on PC, or also just recently Mario Kart Wii on the 3DS (that's not a joke)!

And now this awesome project I found on GitHub, which is called StarHaven, with the active development of porting Paper Mario natively to the 3DS family - you can also check out many other awesome decompilation projects and ports of games, which are known here. I just thought I was just dreaming when I saw that project, because for me it's really like a dream I have and wished for a very long time already, which just came true and I'm really happy right now that it finally exist. So I quickly got my 3DS and followed the instructions on their GitHub project page (FYI, you need CFW on your 3DS!), which was very easy to do actually and now, I can finally play it on my 3DS, what a joy!

Am I the only one or does anyone else here, hoped for such a thing to happen in the future, playing Paper Mario on a 3DS or maybe on a PC, with also many new extra features, where you don't even have to use emulation anymore?

Sorry if my wording is sometimes a bit off or maybe my English in general, I'm still kinda "shocked" from all this and that it's actually real.

BTW, here are some pictures I've made, to show you Paper Mario running from my N3DS XL, which looks very good for me on the 3DS and there are already many additional features included, that we can have now finally built-in, since we don't have here to rely on emulation anymore, which also make the second screen much more useful. It's just beautiful, I still can't stop to smile, when I'm going to play it now, also in 3D :)

I have started playing paper Mario color splash for the first time, and I like it so far. I found it fun, and I especially like the dialogue and the jokes they put in this game. And the combat system and the fact that every npc is a generic toad don't bother me too much. It's a great game, and I don't know why some people say it's bad.

I genuinely think this is one of the best ways to keep Luigi relevant in Paper Mario even if we can't play as him. His power to show up when most convenient is hilarious and fitting character-wise.

So I'm playing a port of the game to 3DS, and this is my first time playing Paper Mario games. Other than Sticker Star, both Mario & Luigi games and Paper Mario: Sticker Star have the mechanic that if you press the button at the right moment, whether it's with the jump or the hammer, you do more damage. Or more jumps and my doubt is its this posible in paper mario 64? So far I haven't been able to do it, and it's such a universal mechanic in Mario RPGs that I don't know if I'm doing something wrong because I don't know if the mechanic doesn't exist here or if it's that very slight input lag I noticed that's messing everything up.

All the recipe lists I've found have been a convoluted mess, with a bunch of alternatives for each recipe that make it a pain to keep track of everything so I streamlined it a bit.

I've only listed the easiest version of each recipe, and I've put a pseudo flowchart under each of them that uses other cooked items and recipes that use the item just cooked. (I did include alternatives for the two recipes that require Whacka Bumps, in case you don't want to hurt him).

I have some ideas for refinement but I'm posting this now before my perfectionist streak takes over completely.

The last one is a fan species variant I made based on a selection of recipes, this being a rare couple's cake version of what species the snow bunny would be. They can only be in snowy areas as they melt easily; they're said to bring fortune to whoever catches one as they're quite jumpy.
